09:00 PM gp5st: Where can I go to learn more about cable transmissions? I was watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKZIvseA1Nk but I really can't find good search terms to learn more. Like, for instance, how do you deal with things like fleet angle?
09:07 PM mrdata: gp5st, what is fleet angle?
09:08 PM gp5st: mrdata, the able between where the cable is coming from and the capstan
09:10 PM mrdata: gp5st, the link you shared is to a lecture 1 hour 46 min
09:11 PM mrdata: i have no idea what it is about
09:11 PM mrdata: what problem is being solved here
09:14 PM mrdata: is it, carrying power to the exctremeties of limbs that move in space?
09:15 PM mrdata: and tbh your definition is incomplete because i dont have a picture of the architecture of this in my head
09:15 PM mrdata: so i cant orient the geometry in a sensible way to think about things
09:15 PM gp5st: there is no architecture. I just want to learn more about the basic concepts
09:16 PM mrdata: gp5st, to cover the basics, please first describe the problem
09:16 PM mrdata: i'm yet to make sense of your question
09:18 PM gp5st: I'm simply looking for resources on mechanical design, specifically cable transmissions, but in general I'm just looking for resources to learn more
10:01 PM mrdata: digging in, i find gp5st was talking about mechanical transmission cables, not electrical transmission
