12:23 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I always have the issue with calibrating the servo positions for a hexapod
12:35 AM Jak_o_Shadows: and i've stripped so many of the 9g servos
01:43 AM rue_mohr: its not hard to do
01:43 AM rue_mohr: or melt them :/
02:06 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Now taht the 3d printer is workign well, maybe i'll print a bigger version
02:06 AM Jak_o_Shadows: for the M996R sized servos
03:44 AM veverak: Jak_o_Shadows: 9h servos are usually poor quality
03:44 AM veverak: I am not suprised is painfull to calirbate it
03:57 AM Miyu is now known as hackkitten
04:11 AM Jak_o_Shadows: There's a lot of slop in the mechanics too
04:11 AM Jak_o_Shadows: cause it's wire linkages
05:01 AM rue_mohr: can you upgrade them to wireless linkages?
05:01 AM rue_mohr: force over IP?
02:38 PM Atomsk is now known as ace4016
07:56 PM robotustra: hi
08:02 PM rue_mohr: low!
08:17 PM Tom_L: medium
08:17 PM rue_mohr: head is still pounding
08:17 PM rue_mohr: didn't expect to be out for 3 days...
08:19 PM Tom_L: whippin yer arse?
08:19 PM * Tom_L can relate to that
08:20 PM rue_mohr: "it" is nothing, my systems reaction is whipping my ass
08:20 PM Tom_L: i was out for 3 weeks
08:20 PM rue_mohr: yes, and this is just a vax shot
08:21 PM Tom_L: yep, they say the 2nd one is where you get the reaction
08:21 PM Tom_L: trust me, the real thing is worse
08:21 PM rue_mohr: yes,
08:21 PM rue_mohr: but .. oof
08:21 PM Tom_L: everybody reacts different..
08:22 PM Tom_L: be glad you got it then
08:22 PM Tom_L: you might not do well with the real deal
08:23 PM rue_mohr: I"m sure if they did some compatibility testing, they would know more about how someone would react, and if it was safe
08:45 PM robotustra: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CVoddY4DWJV/ hi, low and medium :)
08:58 PM Tom_L: oh you got it moving since i last saw it
09:00 PM robotustra: yep, did some progress
09:00 PM robotustra: doing some electro-mechanical feeds
09:00 PM robotustra: on th base of encoders
09:01 PM robotustra: and joystick
09:03 PM robotustra: now need to assemble x axis similar way
09:04 PM Tom_L: working on an A axis for the mill
09:05 PM Tom_L: you've probably seen it
09:06 PM robotustra: don't remember
09:08 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/rotary/mount/Rotary_mount11.jpg
09:09 PM Tom_L: just adapting a manual indexing head
09:09 PM robotustra: with encoder?
09:10 PM Tom_L: no
09:10 PM robotustra: just send steps?
09:10 PM Tom_L: right now yes
09:10 PM robotustra: 200 steps per rev?
09:10 PM Tom_L: more an exercise to see if i can get the rotary axis working
09:10 PM Tom_L: along with my cad cam etc
09:11 PM robotustra: your cad/cam?
09:11 PM Tom_L: was working on a post for my cad cam along with this
09:11 PM Tom_L: smartcam
09:11 PM Tom_L: i've had it for years
09:11 PM robotustra: I see
09:12 PM robotustra: the meaning of "my cad" is a bit different for me :)
09:12 PM Tom_L: i thought it was just for indexing but after some messin with it, i think it may do more
09:12 PM Tom_L: i know
09:12 PM Tom_L: :)
09:13 PM robotustra: I finally made some g-code generation before getting to the job
09:13 PM robotustra: some contract
09:13 PM robotustra: now the small pause in between the jobs I came back to the lathe
09:14 PM robotustra: was thinking a lot about the manual control and decided to separate it from the lathe itself
