12:21 AM rue_mohr: hey
12:28 AM rue_mohr: I digital fitlerd
12:28 AM rue_mohr: with an avr at 8Mhz
12:28 AM rue_mohr: came out good
12:45 PM BitEvil is now known as SpeedEvil
02:15 PM em: I'd like to lern about robotics, but where does a person begin? How do you enter into it? There's a large nexus of related skills. What is your advice, assuming you are talking to an intelligent beginner?
02:33 PM ace4016: there's a lot of aspects to robotics as it's a multidisciplinary field. it can be useful to have a goal in mind when it comes to what type of robots you want to create or what time of things you want the robots to do em
02:35 PM ace4016: seattle robotics and pololu were some resources i used to start looking at a few things, but these days there are more resources than there were back then
03:51 PM rue_mohr: em, if your really into it, nothing can stop you , you just start doing stuff, and as you do, you learn
03:51 PM rue_mohr: and the more you do the more you learn
03:52 PM rue_mohr: so em, what have you made so far?
03:54 PM polprog: ive made a robotic printout of Bush sr who waves his arm with a teac stepper
03:54 PM polprog: that was long time ago
03:55 PM rue_mohr: :)
08:44 PM em: rue_mohr: i've not yet made anything. That's the thing for me. I really agree with your philosophy of learning. I believe if I started then I would continue and get better, but robotics is tricky to find the entry point.
08:45 PM em: One must have something in mind or a worth while goal I think.
08:45 PM em: But it must also be feasible.
09:10 PM rue_mohr: do you have a hot glue gun?
09:10 PM rue_mohr: no, dont set goals or anything, just make stuff
09:10 PM rue_mohr: whatever seems even slightly fun
11:28 PM flav0r: DUDES !
11:28 PM rue_mohr: lvds signals on lcd's are lanes
11:28 PM rue_mohr: you can use as many as you want
11:28 PM flav0r: yah
11:28 PM flav0r: sounds good !
11:28 PM rue_mohr: min. is one for "aux" and one for "lane0"
