04:05 PM DHARMAKAYA: Oh...there IS a robotics chan
04:06 PM veverak: there is chan fore everything
04:07 PM DHARMAKAYA: Any here recommend best simulator for training a robot prototype in that simulator before using it in the robot?
04:07 PM veverak: ROS uses Gazebo a lot
04:07 PM DHARMAKAYA: (Before using the resulting data)
04:07 PM veverak: but... simulations can be usefull, but they do not replace real robot
04:08 PM DHARMAKAYA: Oh thanks for recommendation.
04:08 PM DHARMAKAYA: Thus been seeking the best physics sim with common servo models and so on in it
04:09 PM DHARMAKAYA: For teaching the robot how to walk and so on
04:09 PM veverak: I prefer to run my walking code on the robot itself :P :)
04:10 PM DHARMAKAYA: Nice if it can learn HOW to walk before then though:P
04:10 PM DHARMAKAYA: Programming a walk cycle manually is so last decade
04:10 PM veverak: yeah, I simulate too :)
04:11 PM veverak: sure, I have my motion planner for that, but I prefer to use manual cycles as "first tests"
04:11 PM DHARMAKAYA: Ah, so simulation in Gazebo?
04:11 PM veverak: nah, just rviz
04:11 PM veverak: I have simple simulators of the servomotors
04:11 PM veverak: and I watch how the movement looks in rviz
04:11 PM DHARMAKAYA: Ah
04:12 PM veverak: if it is sensible -> I execute it on the robot
04:12 PM DHARMAKAYA: How is that amazon cloud bot physics playground?
04:13 PM veverak: dunno
04:18 PM DHARMAKAYA: That is called ROBOMAKER
04:19 PM DHARMAKAYA: bezos isn't My favorite person, but I do like how nice that AWS offering seems
08:46 PM rue_mohr: can someone give me a valid us zip code? 90210 isn't working
