12:02 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Yeah
12:08 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I was pretty pleased with the last lot of chinese servos I got though
12:08 AM Jak_o_Shadows: that was 2013 though
12:22 AM mrdata-: wow,
12:22 AM mrdata-: "Chinese manufacturing companies see Western companies abandoning China for manufacturing and so they no longer care about quality."
01:16 AM Jak_o_Shadows: On a different note, stupid old PLA with a too small innner radius on the spool
02:22 AM rue_mohr: yea
02:22 AM rue_mohr: and it snaps
03:05 AM Jak_o_Shadows: yup
03:06 AM Jak_o_Shadows: and then I have to take the whole extruder off, re-thread it, and put it back
03:06 AM Jak_o_Shadows: then re-adjust Z stop
10:15 AM rue_mohr: ooo boden?
10:15 AM rue_mohr: I vowed to never use bowden again
10:16 AM Tom_L: had to install a different ssd
10:17 AM Tom_L: replaced the rust bucket
10:47 AM rue_mohr: yea, how old was the ssd?
10:49 AM rue_mohr: hmm my os drive has 60996 hrs...
10:49 AM rue_mohr: the raid drives are 75293 and 75299
10:50 AM rue_mohr: yea 8.5 years
10:51 AM rue_mohr: Start_Stop_Count 85
10:51 AM rue_mohr: so, I power cycle on average 10x a year
10:53 AM rue_mohr: but it must be in bursts
12:24 PM Tom_L: the ssd isn't that old
12:24 PM Tom_L: i pulled out a hdd but i'm gonna go thru it when i've got some time
12:25 PM Tom_L: still have a mix of sata and pata drives
12:38 PM chisight: hmm, probably time to replace this one.. 9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 016 016 000 Old_age Always - 73938
01:14 PM rue_mohr: not bad
01:15 PM rue_mohr: any reallocated secotors?
01:15 PM rue_mohr: if not, probably fine
01:15 PM rue_mohr: I was only looking because I noticed in the logs
01:15 PM rue_mohr: [sde] Adjusting the sector count from its reported value: 3935232
01:15 PM rue_mohr: which spooked me
01:15 PM rue_mohr: but its the usb card from my camera
02:03 PM chisight: rue_mohr: 4592 reallocated so far.
02:06 PM chisight: but unless the log ran out of space and stopped logging, all the errors were back in the first year and a half.
02:52 PM rue_bed2: dude, if you have so much as 1 reallocated sector, the drive is dieing, get the data off immediatly
02:53 PM rue_bed2: I attribute it to seagate drive death, but its just unfair bais
03:05 PM deshipu: rue_bed2: that's not how flash works
03:06 PM rue_mohr: ooh, its a flash drive?
03:06 PM rue_mohr: you should just get your data off then
04:44 PM rue_shop1: hahahaha
04:44 PM rue_shop1: so, I might put something in the water dispenser, if you ask for too much it says "please dont enter values that large"
04:45 PM Tom_L: please get a bigger cup
04:46 PM rue_shop1: heh
04:46 PM rue_shop1: it occured as I have 8 digit number entry for the amount of water you want
04:47 PM Tom_L: optical recognition would see the cup and know how much to dispense
04:47 PM Tom_L: even kurig hasn't figured that one out
04:48 PM Tom_L: keurig*
04:49 PM rue_shop1: dunno them
04:50 PM Tom_L: single serve coffee/cocoa dispenser
05:24 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Nah, not bowden.
05:24 PM Jak_o_Shadows: just can't ever seem to feed it through
05:35 PM rue_shop3: ?
05:35 PM rue_shop3: odd
05:35 PM rue_shop3: should feed right in
05:36 PM Jak_o_Shadows: always seems to catch ont he side
05:36 PM rue_shop3: ooh yea, I took a drill to some of the inner bits to taper them \ /
05:37 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Yeah, that would do it
05:59 PM chisight: rue_shop3: huh? a few reallocated sectors are not an indication of imminent drive death. we used to have to map out sectors at the os level on brand new drives. bad sectors are a standard part of mechanical drives.
06:26 PM rue_shop3: they are on a machanical drive, surface failure
06:26 PM rue_shop3: gets worse FAST (usually)
06:27 PM rue_shop3: maybe for 1980 drives
06:27 PM rue_shop3: they are supposed to be clear when you get them
06:27 PM rue_shop3: maybe not for stupidly high capacities
06:32 PM chisight: well, according to the logs, the reallocations happened over 6.5 years ago.
06:33 PM chisight: the earliest log of a reallocation shows 8 years ago.
06:40 PM rue_shop1: are the drives larger than 2T ?
06:43 PM chisight: no, it's 8 years old.
06:44 PM chisight: and 2TB.
06:46 PM logb0t_ is now known as logb0t
06:56 PM chisight: 0.0001% reallocated.
07:00 PM rue_shop1: yea, figures
07:03 PM chisight: 2TB was big 8 years ago.
