01:35 AM marder is now known as katsumi
01:55 AM logb0t_ is now known as logb0t
03:17 AM polprog: rue_bed: no, but i expected that to be a custom one
03:18 AM polprog: actually was thinking about making one
03:18 AM polprog: for 2716 eproms
03:18 AM * polprog buys a minipro
03:18 AM * polprog comes up with an idea to make an eprom prog an hour later
03:19 AM polprog: heh, but for the old ones id happily experiment and make a flasher
08:44 AM logb0t_ is now known as logb0t
09:02 AM rue_mohr: polprog, the programming voltage for 2716 is trickey
09:02 AM polprog: 25V
09:02 AM rue_mohr: its anywhere from 32 to 12.5
09:02 AM polprog: according to one of the datashets i have
09:02 AM polprog: what happens if its too low?
09:02 AM rue_mohr: depending on who made what version
09:02 AM polprog: mine are NEC 2716D
09:02 AM rue_mohr: do you have the EXACT datasheet or a rom that says in on there?
09:03 AM rue_mohr: a good thing is that for programming you can just leave vpp connected
09:03 AM rue_mohr: you dont have to switch the pin from vpp to other stuff and back
09:03 AM rue_mohr: too low should just not do anything
09:07 AM polprog: ill look for a NEC datasheet
09:07 AM polprog: my programmer should me in the pickup point this evening
09:07 AM polprog: its 1601
09:07 AM rue_mohr: always made min
09:07 AM rue_mohr: e
02:38 PM Maya-sama is now known as hackkitten
03:00 PM marder is now known as katsumi
04:28 PM Garak: Hello all, its been a while since I've checked in here
04:28 PM Garak: rue is about the only nick I recognise
04:29 PM Garak: With all the cheap electronics like the RPi and 3d printing I thought we would be seein alot more neat robots these days
04:30 PM Garak: I wish I still had the drive and time I had 20 years ago tinkering with robotics
04:35 PM deshipu: do you remember where you have last seen it?
04:36 PM deshipu: servos are still pretty expensive, and we are only starting with cheap brushless motor controllers
04:36 PM veverak: lx15d is my <3 therefore
04:36 PM veverak: :)
04:36 PM deshipu: harmonic drives and such are still patented
04:36 PM Garak: micro servo's hhave gotten damn cheap
04:36 PM Garak: steppers are pretty cheap and easy now too
04:36 PM deshipu: you can't really do much with microservos
04:37 PM Garak: you can 3d print gears
04:38 PM Garak: you can build tiny robots with micro servos
04:38 PM Garak: hell I built a 4ft tall tower crane last xmas than ran on modified micro servos
04:39 PM Garak: it was mostly built from my neice's goldieblox
04:40 PM Garak: The point is 20 years ago it was so expensive to get any parts to work with. today the kids have so much avaiable for so cheap
04:41 PM Garak: I can remeber saving up to get two standard servo's and they costed like $50 each
04:43 PM Garak: the oopic was like $70 or something, today I'm buying arduino clones for $2
04:43 PM Garak: we are in a golden age
04:45 PM Garak: I wish I could still pull all nighters working on stuff like building robots
04:45 PM chisight: you could even print a binding gearset that won't back drive and then use a dc motor with a gray code pickup as a really cheap solution to movement.
04:46 PM Garak: these days I get home from work and I'm pretty much ready for bed
04:47 PM Garak: I do get to work on some neat stuff at work. I'm currently designing a 1/3 scale crash test dummy for an eductional program
06:27 PM logb0t_ is now known as logb0t
