01:12 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I am doing a good job of ignoring all the oozing around the upper bit of the heater block in the 3d printer
01:16 AM zhanx: dont
01:16 AM zhanx: it will cause issues
01:16 AM Jak_o_Shadows: At the moment i'ts going ok
01:16 AM Jak_o_Shadows: i'll clear it off after this print
01:16 AM zhanx: then tighten it up
01:16 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Which i'm checking on every 5 minutes or so
01:16 AM zhanx: 3d printing the bane and happiness of robotics
01:16 AM zhanx: i say this as i am printing my second one
01:18 AM zhanx: mdf vs plywood
01:18 AM zhanx: i am redoing my bed
01:18 AM zhanx: what model printer is yours?
01:18 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I think the plywood is probably pretty good
01:18 AM Jak_o_Shadows: It's 18mm thick
01:18 AM Jak_o_Shadows: prusa i3, frame scratchbuilt
01:19 AM zhanx: i did the rue_mohr special i2
01:19 AM zhanx: aka he guides you half the time you learn the rest
01:29 AM Jak_o_Shadows: tbh, better than followig internet guids
01:29 AM Jak_o_Shadows: at least back when I built mine
01:29 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I ended up putting my x carriage on backwards
01:30 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Also, I really like these legs: https://hackaday.io/project/163093-tiptap
01:30 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I have something similar (but servos) in mind
01:30 AM Jak_o_Shadows: through like, you don't need a full belt. You can use a betl clamp
01:31 AM Jak_o_Shadows: like 3d printers
05:16 AM BitEvil_ is now known as SpeedEvil
11:12 AM rue_bed: I'v made sooooo many improvements, it would help if the people who designed it had been more into mechanics
11:23 AM Tom_L: so publish a new printer and call it rusa2
11:46 AM rue_mohr: well I'm not done yet
03:03 PM rue_shop1: ok, visitors all gone, fixed the PCB computer, its power button was sticking, making it impossable to turn off or keep on
03:28 PM rue_mohr: if I have a self charging robot that just drags a broom around, it'll help a lot
03:55 PM polprog: I recently had to fix a cpu daughtercard, broke off the cmos batt socket
03:56 PM polprog: Cyanoacrylate glue is quite awesome
03:56 PM polprog: why didnt i think of using it to secure mod wires earlier.
04:12 PM orlock: it's usually too thin, gets everywhere, problematic to remove
04:12 PM orlock: hotglue works better for most cases
04:26 PM rue_shop1: if you heat it, you regret using it
04:27 PM rue_shop1: nothing like being glued to your project, literally
04:28 PM deshipu: hot glue + hot air gun
04:29 PM rue_shop1: deseoldeirng gun wit5h the air reversed
05:11 PM polprog: Hot glue, yuk
05:12 PM polprog: Ofc cyanoacrylate wont fix two C-beams together but to hold down a piece of kynar wire, its great
05:12 PM polprog: For mechanical i use 2 part epoxy
05:12 PM polprog: Mechanical stuff*
05:13 PM Mikeee: i have to agree, epoxies are superior. Good to have a handful of types on hand, and get familiar with their properties
05:13 PM veverak: o/
05:20 PM polprog: sure
05:21 PM polprog: i have a 10 minute one and a 24 hour one. and some other glues as well
05:34 PM X-Scale` is now known as X-Scale
06:19 PM rue_shop3: ok, see if I can get this adc stream viewer working
06:31 PM rue_shop3: :/ I didn't want to have to use software rx for this...
06:35 PM Tom_L: what chip?
06:37 PM rue_shop3: m328, but the nano doens't have the right pins broken out
06:37 PM rue_shop3: it doesn't really matter, but it would have been nice to save the coding
07:36 PM rue_mohr: nope, oops, nope
07:36 PM rue_mohr: thats not right
07:36 PM * rue_mohr modifies terminal codes
07:38 PM SpeedEvil is now known as Guest62402
