09:35 AM rue_bed: I should really put more work into that guy
09:35 AM rue_bed: need to know what it can and cant do
09:43 AM therealdurrf: i have a quadruped i need to work more on
09:44 AM therealdurrf: i finished up some wiring recently and it has some basic walk/dance animation flashed from a year and a bit ago from when i worked on it then
11:41 AM veverak: hehe :)
11:43 AM deshipu: programming them is the less fun part
11:43 AM veverak: well
11:43 AM veverak: that is relative
11:43 AM * veverak enjoys it
11:44 AM deshipu: will you program my robots?
11:45 AM veverak: I am writing one program that should work on multiple 'walking' robots
11:45 AM veverak: does that count as programming your robots?
11:50 AM veverak: 11k2 lines of code!
11:50 AM veverak: :)
11:52 AM mrdata||: "11k2"?
11:57 AM veverak: 11 200 lins of code
12:42 PM rue_shop1: mugh, storm
12:42 PM rue_shop1: power
12:42 PM rue_shop1: or lack there of
12:44 PM rue_shop1: router ups needs new batteries
12:44 PM rue_shop1: phone system ups did too
12:44 PM rue_shop1: but I was messing with getting the ups monitor installed, and I think I botched it
12:44 PM rue_shop1: so I might need to install the pbx
12:44 PM rue_shop1: again
12:45 PM rue_shop1: there is a livingroom to clean, and a tree to put up
12:45 PM rue_shop1: a printer to play with
03:54 PM gartt: I stopped messing with UPSs. The lead-acid batteries only last a few years anyway
05:23 PM rue_ is now known as rue_mohr
05:23 PM rue_mohr: yup, about 5
05:23 PM rue_mohr: we get a lot of what are known as "power outages"
05:23 PM rue_mohr: the electricity is unavailable for periods of up to 12 hours
05:23 PM rue_mohr: lots of people dont know this happens in some places in the world, and they dont design equipment that restarts properly after one
05:23 PM rue_mohr: there is a heater on the roof of a bar, every time the power goes out, someone has to go up on the roof and push a reset button
05:23 PM rue_mohr: its one example of too many
07:49 PM Tom_L: that's just job security
08:02 PM rue_shop1: no, the battery powered remote control co-ordinating the hospital doors was, till then called me and I changed it for the wire that was already there
08:11 PM flav0r: hey hey !
08:12 PM flav0r: dude i soldered connectors last night !
08:13 PM flav0r: always connectors !
08:28 PM rue_shop1: ?
08:28 PM rue_shop1: the smt ones?
08:31 PM flav0r: hehe nah these are just some thru hole ones
08:32 PM flav0r: makes me laugh when i mention connectors now tho
08:34 PM flav0r: XH connector dude !
08:58 PM rue_shop3: I bought 10 of these 3.5A microstep drivers before chinas prices went insane
08:58 PM rue_shop3: anyone made conductive ink?
09:00 PM rue_shop1: yes!
09:00 PM rue_shop1: it sucked tho, use someone elses idea
09:01 PM rue_shop3: oh
09:01 PM rue_shop3: I suppose I could work on the paste extruder
09:03 PM rue_shop3: or this motion capture suit?
09:03 PM rue_shop3: or the delta haptic thing
09:15 PM rue_shop1: I suppose I'm not gonna have a spattering machine for a while...
09:17 PM Tom_L: modified inkjet head
09:17 PM rue_shop1: for aluminum?
09:18 PM Tom_L: for your wax
09:18 PM rue_shop1: aparently the conductive traces for the hasel actuators are splattered onto the plastic pouches
09:19 PM rue_shop1: tho it sounds like it could be done with a magnetron and a vacuum chamber
09:20 PM Tom_L: why investment casting?
09:20 PM Tom_L: err i mean lost wax
09:20 PM rue_shop1: imagine all the things I can do between a wax printer and lost wax casting?
09:20 PM Tom_L: i've never tried any of the methods
09:21 PM rue_shop1: well, the 3d printing is highly addictive
09:21 PM rue_shop1: dont know how you avoided it
09:21 PM rue_shop1: zhanx, we must convert him!
09:21 PM Tom_L: lack of time
09:21 PM * rue_shop1 looks at toms cnc
09:21 PM rue_shop1: no time, uhu...
09:21 PM Tom_L: i've had maybe an hour to myself today
09:22 PM Tom_L: i got that done because there was nobody here to bother me during it's build
09:22 PM rue_shop1: mhm
09:23 PM Tom_L: that and college x 2 is quite an expense
09:32 PM rue_shop1: gas was $1.46/L today
09:32 PM rue_shop1: (regular)
09:32 PM Tom_L: $1.87 / gal here
09:33 PM Tom_L: was that up or down from previously for you?
09:33 PM rue_shop1: up again
09:33 PM rue_shop1: their going for $2/L
09:33 PM Tom_L: ours will go up after the 1st
09:34 PM Tom_L: i was rather surprised to see it go below the $2 mark
09:35 PM rue_shop1: I wonder how much of food prices are oil
09:35 PM Tom_L: maybe i should fill a swimming pool with it while it's low
09:36 PM Tom_L: look how shipping costs have gone up in the last year
09:36 PM Tom_L: that's a fair indicator
09:36 PM Tom_L: i know some things are 2x what they were 2 years ago
09:37 PM rue_shop1: hard for me to meausre, the costs went up from $0
09:37 PM Tom_L: milk spiked a few years back around $4/gal but it's back down around $2ish now
09:38 PM rue_shop1: I heard that there is overproduction right now
09:38 PM rue_shop1: farmers are having a problem with how low it is
09:38 PM rue_shop1: (aka problem with the inflation thats going on)
09:39 PM rue_shop1: were not a wheelbarrows of money yet
09:39 PM Tom_L: there's alot of beef around here as well as dairy farms
09:41 PM Tom_L: iirc you're not a big beef eater
09:51 PM rue_shop1: na
10:04 PM rue_shop1: I wonder if I could 3d print a spaceship
10:04 PM rue_shop1: I mean, I know thats how real spaceships are made, but usually in 0G
10:04 PM rue_shop1: hmm
