12:02 AM rue_mohr: YES!
12:06 AM rue_mohr: :) I can feed off other peoples variables that aren't otherwise used.
12:12 AM mrdata__: what on earth is a proper grid manager object
12:17 AM rue_mohr: heh, well, in my cam program I need to have a panel that you enter the numberic details of the job your setting up
12:17 AM rue_mohr: feed rate _____________
12:17 AM rue_mohr: finish depth ________________
12:17 AM rue_mohr: jog height _____________
12:17 AM rue_mohr: etc etc
12:18 AM rue_mohr: and I need the labels to line up with the entry fields
12:18 AM rue_mohr: and motif has no way of doing that properly
12:18 AM rue_mohr: a form cannot do it
12:18 AM rue_mohr: and a rowcol CANNOT do it and resize properly
12:18 AM rue_mohr: (no, it cant)
12:18 AM rue_mohr: so, I have to make my own widget layout alg
12:19 AM rue_mohr: which I been trying to avoid for 3 days
12:20 AM rue_mohr: 1 mion
12:20 AM mrdata__: ugh
12:21 AM mrdata__: the horror
12:21 AM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/images/cam_number_entry.png
12:22 AM rue_mohr: +-, thats all I'm trying to do
12:22 AM rue_mohr: motif is so ancient that they cant handle it
12:22 AM rue_mohr: they also did not have a entry field that would only accept numbers
12:22 AM rue_mohr: so I had to do that too
12:22 AM rue_mohr: but I'm getting there
12:23 AM rue_mohr: I'm playing with fine points of postioning, then I need to make it stretch the right column properly, then I need it to request a resize from its parent
12:23 AM rue_mohr: motif isn't that far up from coding a gui manually
12:24 AM rue_mohr: its too bad the others dont play well with C
12:25 AM rue_mohr: the gui for my NC spooler was so easy to do in tkinter
12:29 AM rue_mohr: http://paste.debian.net/1052573/
12:29 AM rue_mohr: its been a fight
12:52 AM Jak_o_Ombroj: This is pretty neat, for a vise mechanism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XiMTe0bVBQ

12:54 AM Jak_o_Ombroj: huh?
01:09 AM rue_mohr: the speed vises
01:10 AM Jak_o_Ombroj: tbh, i can't find a new one in a local retailer
01:10 AM Jak_o_Ombroj: have to buy from a more specialist
01:11 AM rue_mohr: they exist
01:14 AM Jak_o_Ombroj: gonna say at least 60?
01:27 AM Jak_o_Ombroj: I wonder how the cam lock ones work
01:27 AM Jak_o_Ombroj: the ones without a thread
