12:15 AM rue_mohr: haha
12:23 AM orlock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfygNGVdJ7g
12:23 AM rue_mohr: The uploader has not made this video available in your country.
12:23 AM orlock: wtf
12:23 AM orlock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP-ZUbSmkRM
12:30 AM rue_bed: heh, in a cats world, paying attention to someone generally means "get out of my way"
12:31 AM rue_bed: huh, its just my one machine that lost connection
02:21 AM Jak_o_Shadows: ok. Time to be productive!
09:29 AM VansFannel: Hi!!
09:29 AM VansFannel: The only way to control a robot in Gazebo with keyboard is using ROS, isn't it?
02:24 PM patr0clus is now known as s3nd1v0g1us
07:10 PM rue_mohr: sorry, onyl build real robots
07:12 PM z64555: rue means to say that he doesn't have experience with simulations, but instead prefers to build physical prototypes
07:12 PM rue_mohr: is it a prototype if you only ever build 1?
07:13 PM rue_mohr: zhanx, I'm gonna take a nap and then stay up all night
07:13 PM rue_mohr: ping me
07:14 PM zhanx: ping rue_mohr
07:15 PM zhanx: I just sat down
07:15 PM z64555: Well, yes, it is still technically a prototype
07:16 PM zhanx: 219 downloads in 19 hours rue_mohr
08:17 PM zhanx: ok test print time
08:23 PM Tom_L: good luck
08:25 PM zhanx: prints, need to calibrate for the new filament now
09:14 PM z64555: "When given no constraints, the AI designed a robot with absurdly long legs which then simply fell over to finish the course" --ASEE article on facebook
09:16 PM z64555: Seems it was covering AI designed robots for a randomly generated 2D walker course simulation
09:21 PM z64555: hm
09:22 PM z64555: Anybody know of open source 3D scanner projects? I'm expecting something like a 6-axis scanner with 3 laser/IR range finders
09:25 PM zhanx: I am working on a small one
09:26 PM zhanx: picking up where horcus left off with 2 lasers
09:26 PM zhanx: Opencv
09:26 PM z64555: I want to experiment with one to see how well it'll work with digitizing clay models
09:27 PM zhanx: waiting on a few parts, I can model a few and show you on mind by then end of the month or so
09:27 PM zhanx: I need better lasers
09:27 PM zhanx: they are in the mail
10:29 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/not_public_dont_open/haha.png
10:30 PM rue_mohr: zhanx, ^
10:30 PM rue_mohr: thingiverse provides endorphines, that was what I wanted to say
10:30 PM zhanx: that was my AI bot
10:30 PM rue_mohr: thats a stupid numberof hits
10:31 PM rue_mohr: that gives myhackaday thing a run for its money
10:31 PM zhanx: which one?
10:31 PM zhanx: mine was at like 2 million plus for elf
10:31 PM rue_mohr: I posted to hackaday, got almost 1200 hits
10:32 PM rue_mohr: nice :)
10:32 PM rue_mohr: its completely valueless
10:32 PM zhanx: over its over 500 million now
10:32 PM zhanx: yes it is
10:32 PM Tom_L: it's a boost
10:32 PM rue_mohr: the 80mm fan grate is TRUELY popular
10:32 PM rue_mohr: its been reported to be printed like 15 times
10:32 PM rue_mohr: which means there are hundreds out there
10:33 PM rue_mohr: its got 7 remixes
10:33 PM rue_mohr: I dont know if I can beat the popularity of a stupid 80mm fan grate...
10:34 PM zhanx: once i solve this AI it will tell rue how its going
10:34 PM zhanx: yes i know you think my AI is wrong and weird and wrong
10:36 PM rue_mohr: I have a beat, carrot, onion, and potato that have been sitting on the kitchen counter requesting I figure out how to make a vegitable soup
10:37 PM Tom_L: beet
10:37 PM zhanx: well for one a knife is not required
10:37 PM Tom_L: you beat a drum
10:38 PM Tom_L: i wouldn't put a beet in soup
10:40 PM z64555: you still need some sort of stock to serve as a base for the soup
10:41 PM * rue_mohr chops up some z64555
10:45 PM z64555: I'm all meat and bones, man
10:45 PM z64555: you want fats
11:11 PM z64555: *I think beets have some fats in them
11:25 PM mrdata--: small amount
11:26 PM mrdata--: nuts and seeds are a lot fattier
11:26 PM mrdata--: some fatty fruits include avocados, olives
11:27 PM mrdata--: some fatty greens include purslane
11:28 PM mrdata--: and a few kinds of algae
11:39 PM mrdata--: for soup stock, use things with flavour that also thicken the broth
11:40 PM mrdata--: flavour: onions, garlic, anise, celery
11:40 PM mrdata--: chili paste,
11:40 PM mrdata--: thickners: peanut butter, or perhaps wheat flour or corn starch sometimes
11:41 PM mrdata--: the starches dont provide flavour
11:41 PM z64555: I have never gotten peanut butter to taste right in soups...
11:45 PM mrdata--: use only 100% peanuts in cooking
11:45 PM mrdata--: crunchy or smooth
11:45 PM mrdata--: the peanut butter compliments chili sauce and garlic well
11:46 PM mrdata--: if this is a vegetable soup and you dont want animal products at all, then
11:47 PM mrdata--: extra virgin olive oil can be added as a condiment to replace butter, often
11:48 PM z64555: oh, you're talking about home-made peanut butter?
11:48 PM mrdata--: but if you're a meat eater i recommend simmering a large pork bone for five hours
11:48 PM mrdata--: i buy 100% peanut butter
11:48 PM mrdata--: it hasd no horrid junk like sugar or thickenwers added
11:48 PM z64555: ah
11:49 PM theBear: on the other hand, i would recommend you eat some large meat, for five hours... 'cos yer a meat-eater and anything else would be abstract at best :)
11:49 PM mrdata--: btw i'm presently sweating a couple large red onions and some garlic
11:49 PM mrdata--: i have left over turkey leg
11:49 PM mrdata--: going to reheat that
11:50 PM mrdata--: i should add a few more veggies tho; brb
11:50 PM z64555: i sadly never was trained on how to make stuff like this from scratch ingredients, most recipes nowadays push for pre-made items
11:51 PM z64555: even the old cookbooks that do mention stock making reference items that you just can't buy anymore
11:53 PM rue_mohr: there are two onions, 1 beet, 1 potato, 1 carrot, a bit of green onoin and some salt and pepper in it
