01:45 AM rue_: yes, cant remember the program name
02:57 AM rue_shop3: the answer is yes, you can generate a continiously variable clock freq by mixing just the *amplitude* of two freqs (sine or triangle) but the result is a interpolation of multiple freqs, aka a digital mess
02:58 AM rue_shop3: dividing it by more than the ratio of the two freqs being mixed dosn't work
03:01 AM rue_: aha, POV affects how we see colour!
03:04 AM rue_: ok, wow
03:11 AM rue_: it makes sense because if you see a blue and yellow light flash fast enough, you see it as green
03:11 AM rue_: as the light is in the order of 100's of THz, it dosnt' say much about the POV response time
03:20 AM rue_: damnit, if I could just make a vco that could do 1-10Mhz
03:20 AM rue_: in one band
04:13 AM tmqq is now known as dongge
06:42 AM theBear: also depending how much typing ya wanna do and how well yer know yer two distro/versions details, it should be fairly trivial if yer wanted to make say /firstlinux/blah and /secondlinux/blah with everything either install/fs woulda included inside the appropriate dir, and then something likely already implemented to choose, maybe REALROOT=/firstlinux in the kernel cmdline/options, at the approprpriate stage during boot a little of the old mount
06:42 AM theBear: /newroot && pivot_root / /firstlinux will be triggered, and from that moment until reboot everything appears to be like a very seperate one or other linux
06:43 AM theBear: woah ! reconnect lag
07:57 AM Neomex is now known as Barelytoasted
08:03 AM Barelytoasted is now known as Neomex
06:41 PM robotustra: evening
06:45 PM robotustra: I see rue did a lot of cleaning
06:46 PM robotustra: before it was about 500 nicks in here
06:51 PM robotustra: everyone are out?
07:01 PM rue_: I didn't clean anything
07:01 PM rue_: channels in its last stage of life, there seems to be nothing I can do about it
07:05 PM ace4016: IRC is just old and kids don't know about it or prefer the hip and proprietary communication methods like Slack or Discord
07:26 PM robotustra: ace4016, not agree
07:26 PM robotustra: I see a lot of new people in our channels
07:26 PM robotustra: like 20+ kids
07:27 PM robotustra: who is doing something?
07:27 PM robotustra: interesting?
07:30 PM robotustra: Tom_L, how is your mill working?
07:34 PM robotustra: I did some of my lathe
07:34 PM robotustra: https://imgur.com/gXNcD41
07:35 PM robotustra: https://imgur.com/6oVcR2R
07:35 PM robotustra: next step is to attach another rails
07:36 PM robotustra: then to attach screws
08:27 PM ace4016: i need production equipment :P
09:16 PM robotustra: ace4016, so, do it
09:18 PM robotustra: I'm building my own prod equipment
09:19 PM ace4016: slowly working my way to it
09:23 PM robotustra: hope I will finish my lathe this summer
09:42 PM Tom_L: how's that workin out for ya?
09:42 PM robotustra: slowly slowly
09:42 PM robotustra: but now I'm on vacations
09:42 PM robotustra: did some progress on a lathe
09:42 PM robotustra: finished scraping 2 weeks ago
09:43 PM robotustra: started drilling tapping,

09:43 PM robotustra: https://imgur.com/6oVcR2R
09:43 PM Tom_L: nice
09:44 PM Tom_L: is that 2" tube?
09:45 PM robotustra: it's 2.5x1.5
09:45 PM robotustra: 6 mm wall
09:45 PM Tom_L: i used similar
09:45 PM Tom_L: 2" thickwall
09:46 PM robotustra: and I join them with 3x1 in 0.177"
09:47 PM Tom_L: i started with thinner but ended up with 1/4"
09:49 PM robotustra: I use mainly 1/4"
09:49 PM robotustra: tomorrow will continue with the second axis
09:50 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Welding/Frame_Weld1.jpg
09:50 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Welding/Column_Supports1.jpg
09:52 PM robotustra: yeah, I saw this, I can't weld in my appartment so I screw everything
09:52 PM Tom_L: worried about vibrating apart?
09:52 PM Tom_L: i would also pin it once it's where you want it
09:53 PM Tom_L: i pinned the upright to the base on mine
09:53 PM Tom_L: as well as bolts
09:53 PM robotustra: no, I will usr no weld
09:54 PM robotustra: just bolt it
09:54 PM robotustra: to be able to take apart completely
09:54 PM Tom_L: no, i meant dowel pins for alignment
09:54 PM robotustra: I thought to make them, may be after
09:55 PM robotustra: but for first assembly - no
09:55 PM robotustra: I have pins and rimmers to make dowels
09:55 PM Tom_L: once it's aligned i would pin it
09:56 PM robotustra: yeah, I'll do this in the very very end
09:58 PM robotustra: anyway
09:58 PM robotustra: the biggest chalenge will be to install a chuck on it
11:11 PM Jak_o_Shadows: there are times when you wish you had a sdr
