12:07 AM rue_mohr: anyone ever use a lut based state machine?
12:25 AM rue_shop4: yes!
12:25 AM rue_shop4: no, I mean
12:25 AM rue_shop4: oooh
12:36 AM LuminaxWork is now known as LuminaxWk
03:25 AM polprog: yesterday i got a dremel
03:25 AM polprog: drilled a hole and threaded it
03:25 AM polprog: my room is full of metal dust and looks like a clusterfuck
03:25 AM polprog: but im so proud of myself
03:26 AM polprog: :D
03:27 AM rue_bed: :)
03:28 AM rue_bed: if I can build a state machine *in* a program that builds state machines, does that mean its kinda turring complete?
04:11 AM ib0t: rue_bed: if you can build a turing machine with your program than it is turing complete
04:13 AM ib0t: a state machine in general can not store data a turing machine can store data so in general your machine is not turing complete
05:32 AM SpeedEvil: You can rewrite any turing machine as a state machine.
05:33 AM SpeedEvil: With at most 2^n or so states.
07:17 AM polprog is now known as gorplop
09:07 AM gorplop is now known as polprog
09:25 AM rue_mohr: and how do I capture the infamous infinite state machine
09:26 AM rue_mohr: iif
09:26 AM rue_mohr: no
09:26 AM rue_mohr: ?
09:26 AM rue_mohr: ISM
09:26 AM rue_mohr: right
12:09 PM davr0s: is there such a thing as a 360degree servo: i.e. if you ask it to move from 350deg to 10deg, it will go +20 passing zero, instead of rewinding 340deg
12:10 PM z64555: probably
12:10 PM veverak: dynamixels servo cna do that
12:10 PM SpeedEvil: davr0s: 'winch' servos
12:11 PM z64555: I'm assuming standard RC type servos
12:11 PM davr0s: ok nice.
02:31 PM z64555: whoo, I may have figured out my own graph clipping algo
10:04 PM rue_shop4: and I just worked out an awesome new way to 'scan' a matrix keyboard
10:24 PM rue_shop4: and I just made it better
10:47 PM z64555: whats new about it
11:36 PM rue_shop4: it just uses a few transistors and resistors
11:36 PM rue_shop4: you dont need to scan the matrix
11:36 PM rue_shop4: it just tells you what row(s) and column(s) went active
11:37 PM rue_shop4: so, the 12 key decoder consists of 7 resistors, and 3 transistors
11:37 PM rue_shop4: outputs a 7 bit keycode
11:43 PM AchiestDragon: sounds more fun than designing oscilators ,, who know a simple circut for controling the v charge and discharge rates of a simple single cap can become so complex verry quickly https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o7Z_V8UMO3pMhk-28pwrZ5yOBnKKSmnW/view?usp=sharing
11:44 PM rue_shop4: ?
11:44 PM rue_shop4: REALLY linear ramp?
11:46 PM rue_shop4: I saw a cute one
11:46 PM rue_shop4: they use a current source, and then drained it with another switched current source
11:47 PM AchiestDragon: setable start charge value , setable charge rate , setable discharge rate , start phaze direction , external sync , run or hold modes and verious other programable functions , with saw/triangle and square wave outputs
11:52 PM AchiestDragon: 4 chips , 11 transtors , 39 resistors ,12 caps , 7pots ,1 preset ,7 diodes , 6 switchs and 7leds
11:53 PM AchiestDragon: oh and a ferrite ring
