01:30 AM rue_: I sorta wish the people who wrote this digital scope had actaully used a digital scope before
01:34 AM rue_: or even an analog one
01:34 AM SpeedEvil: :(
01:34 AM SpeedEvil: A problem with a hell of a lot of firmware.
01:36 AM rue_: but the charge and discharge times aren't equal
01:36 AM rue_: it looks like the avr is able to pull up better than pull down
01:36 AM rue_: an I'm running thru a 100k resistor
01:38 AM rue_: iirc the avr has a current limit for pin current sinking
01:43 AM rue_: hahah it realtime accumulates the pulse width and duty
01:54 AM mrdata: avr current limit is fairly low, yeah
01:54 AM mrdata: depends on which one but i recall seeing 40mA
01:55 AM mrdata: 555 timer is 12x that i think
01:56 AM mrdata: so i would advise having the avr drive a transistor, if you need more current
02:06 AM rue_bed: its just the cap charge/discharge
02:07 AM rue_bed: I modeled it like taking a resistor from pin3 to pin 2
02:07 AM rue_bed: not the shunted 2 resistor thing
02:08 AM rue_bed: thru a 100k, charging and discharging the cap from 1/3 vcc to 2/3 vcc isn't symmetric
05:02 AM Luminax is now known as LuminaxWk
08:00 AM micmac: has any of you ever done detectors and descriptors evaluation as in : http://www.robots.ox.ac.uk/~vgg/research/affine/index.html ? and also used the evaluateFeatureDetector implementation in OpenCV ? I tried to ask the question in #opencv but did not get any answer yet
04:10 PM i-make-robots: hey all. http://twitch.tv/jigsolve is going to stay up until march 1 and then I'm pulling the plug. if you want a chance to solve the jigsaw and be a part of history, get in while the getting is good.
04:18 PM mrdata: loads too slowly; i closed the tab
04:41 PM i-make-robots: that sounds like a you problem.
05:07 PM mrdata: i-make-robots, well tell me something about this
05:15 PM i-make-robots: what do you mean when you say "this"?
05:15 PM i-make-robots: your slow loading speed? Can't. The Jigsolve? it's all on the twitch page, if you scroll down.
05:27 PM mrdata: so, youre refusing to talk about it
05:27 PM mrdata: fine
05:27 PM mrdata: dismissed
05:35 PM i-make-robots: I'm not refusing. I'm telling you where most of the data is located. It sounds like you're angry, or maybe trolling. I've got 5 employees and a list of things to do the length of my arm SO if you have a specific question not already in the available information I will help OTHERWISE you aren't entitled to anything, get over it.
05:35 PM mrdata: so you spam the channel
05:36 PM mrdata: and act like a sociopath
05:36 PM mrdata: mhm
05:36 PM mrdata: what does this have to do with robotics?
05:36 PM polprog: its likenthe polish edaboard. aska simple questiom and the first response is "are you banned on google?"
05:37 PM i-make-robots: polprog - thank you!
05:37 PM polprog: it was about your inability to explain the twitch thing, i-make-robots
05:38 PM robotustra: mrdata, don't talk with i-make-robots, he is just an attention whore
05:38 PM mrdata: robotustra, yeah i agree
05:38 PM robotustra: come here to show his robot arm with HUGE backlashes in joints
05:39 PM robotustra: I think he is kinda arab or so
05:39 PM polprog: what are backslashes (im new to robotics, looking to learn stuff)
05:39 PM robotustra: muslims
05:39 PM robotustra: slacks
05:39 PM i-make-robots: you think I'm arab? wow, that's both wrong and racist.
05:40 PM i-make-robots: please show me your better arm.
05:40 PM robotustra: backlash == slacks due to the loose construction
05:40 PM polprog: thanks, that makes sense :)
05:40 PM i-make-robots: for example, gaps between gear teeth inside a gearbox.
05:40 PM robotustra: if I differ races - am I a rasist?
05:41 PM robotustra: racist*
05:41 PM mrdata: polprog, backlash is a common actuator problem, that you see when changing direction
05:42 PM robotustra: that's why nature has build our joints and muscles to avoid slacks
05:42 PM i-make-robots: uh... no, nature isn't built to be as precise as a machine. it can have slack and not care.
05:42 PM robotustra: use gearboxes in joints is misconception
05:43 PM robotustra: muscles they are self contracting all the time and they remove all slacks in human joints
05:45 PM i-make-robots: we seem to be using the same words with different definitions. I'm going to say "ok, you're right" because I don't want to fight about it.
05:46 PM robotustra: ok, you are right
05:47 PM robotustra: I have no time to argue with you either
05:47 PM robotustra: better I'll read the code
05:51 PM * mrdata makes dinner
05:55 PM * robotustra reads marlin code
06:00 PM veverak: waj?
06:00 PM veverak: hmm
06:00 PM veverak: or maybe it is not so bad as it used to be?
07:55 PM durrf is now known as JohnLasagna
08:29 PM f003brv: Hi
08:30 PM veverak: iH
08:31 PM f003brv: I'm reading through src right now lol
08:45 PM Tom_L: rue_, pics

09:38 PM rue_: sweet, I got nothing in today
09:39 PM rue_: tom, your supposed to put 3 or 4 tabs on the flat bit, bend them in 90, and tack them to the inside :)
09:39 PM Tom_L: such is life
09:39 PM Tom_L: the end one is
09:39 PM rue_: it looks good, congrads on welding paper thin metal!
09:40 PM rue_: I think I'd have to have tigged it, if anyting
09:40 PM Tom_L: the edge didn't fit snug all the way around cause i got off a little cutting the edge strip so i burned thru there a little
09:41 PM Tom_L: but it's a guard...
09:41 PM rue_: yea, hard with thin metal
09:41 PM rue_: if making one my way I'd ahve tabbed and spot welded it
09:41 PM Tom_L: if i had proper tools like a shear that wouldn't have happened
09:41 PM rue_: lapped everything
09:42 PM Tom_L: i don't like tabs inside near a belt
09:42 PM rue_: clearance looks good
09:42 PM Tom_L: cad helped with that
09:42 PM rue_: so, your getting close
09:42 PM rue_: your going to ahve to take it all apart and paint it :)
09:43 PM Tom_L: it's been apart once or twice already
09:43 PM rue_: I did a comparitor interrupt on an avr today :) first for me
09:43 PM Tom_L: i need to figure out what kind of paint to use
09:43 PM Tom_L: huh
09:43 PM rue_: oil based?
09:43 PM Tom_L: maybe i did one of those once...
09:44 PM Tom_L: i'm not sure
09:44 PM rue_: playing with a capacitor meter
09:44 PM Tom_L: epoxy is too expensive i bet
09:44 PM rue_: made an osc for it
09:44 PM rue_: hmm
09:44 PM rue_: tinted epoxy resin?
09:45 PM Tom_L: no, epoxy paint
09:45 PM Tom_L: aka imron etc
09:45 PM Tom_L: http://www2.dupont.com/Coating_Solutions/en_US/assets/downloads/E-R4614_Imron_Elite_Brochure_E.pdf
09:48 PM Tom_L: i'm sure that stuff is too costly
09:50 PM rue_: must have one hell of a ware house with ends of fancy paint cans
09:52 PM Tom_L: http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb/general-archive/machinery-paint-72640/
09:52 PM Tom_L: i'll probably use some type of enamel
09:52 PM Tom_L: not as good as imron etc but ok
09:53 PM Tom_L: i'm sure home depot etc probably have some kind of industrial enamel
09:54 PM Tom_L: should i paint it pink?
09:56 PM rue_: it might be more trouble than you want to get into
09:56 PM Tom_L: :)
09:57 PM rue_: thats kinda like waving a red flag at a bull 'just to see if its true'
09:57 PM Tom_L: https://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-Premium-1-gal-902-Slate-Gray-1-Part-Epoxy-Concrete-and-Garage-Floor-Paint-90201/100113293
09:57 PM rue_: tho she was doing a fine job, I wish she'd not gotten discouraged
09:57 PM Tom_L: something like that probably
09:57 PM Tom_L: only i'll get a quart or so
09:57 PM rue_: will it bind to steel
09:58 PM Tom_L: hope so
09:58 PM rue_: damit I forgot the ground steak again
09:59 PM Tom_L: hmm i thought you meant hamburger at first
09:59 PM Tom_L: ground rod
09:59 PM Tom_L: a cup of water makes those go in really easy
10:00 PM rue_: yea, the phone system needs a isolated ground
10:00 PM rue_: n
10:38 PM rue_: hah, building segment patters in my head only took 4 tries
10:38 PM rue_: in all fairness, half way thru the 3rd attempt I forgot what letter I was going for
