12:18 AM horohoro: Good Day everyone
12:30 AM rue_mohr: gnight
12:49 AM anonnumberanon: soldering in this new power jack on a laptop
12:49 AM anonnumberanon: if anything i should know speak now
01:14 AM z64555: probably too late to mention anything now
01:26 AM anonnumberanon: yes
01:28 AM anonnumberanon: its really really ennoying
01:29 AM anonnumberanon: the board's pin hole area is thin
01:29 AM z64555: of course
01:30 AM z64555: you've got a solder sucker, right?
01:34 AM anonnumberanon: :3
01:34 AM anonnumberanon: no
01:34 AM anonnumberanon: well yes but in boxes
01:34 AM anonnumberanon: i wish i could use one heh
01:36 AM anonnumberanon: but oh well it looks "not too bad" reassembling and gonna test the power supply onto it (which is not even the right one for this machine)
01:41 AM z64555: as long as it can supply the right voltage and a minimum amount of current that the machine needs, it'll be fine
01:42 AM z64555: (like, the power supply can have a higher ampherage rating than the original, and it'll be ok as long as the voltage is the same)
02:19 AM anonnumberanon: holy heck it worked
02:19 AM anonnumberanon: well kinda
02:23 AM anonnumberanon: well looks like the battery is shot though gonna try and charge it
02:25 AM anonnumberanon: im sending in 19.5V when the charger that should go for it is 19V
02:26 AM anonnumberanon: hopefully that's the reason the laptop doesn't want to run more than 20 seconds with the battery in
02:26 AM z64555: what kind of battery
02:26 AM z64555: like, whats its chemistry
02:28 AM anonnumberanon: noot sure
02:29 AM anonnumberanon: 10.8?V though so i assume there is a charging circuit that converts incoming power to 10.8v to the battery
02:29 AM anonnumberanon: i think only the battery is the problem now will just leave the pc off and charge it for an hour and see
02:30 AM z64555: keep a close eye on it, and an solid ice chest nearby
02:32 AM anonnumberanon: heh
02:33 AM anonnumberanon: throw it out the window ok?
02:40 AM z64555: that works too, so long as you don't have a bale of hay outside your window
02:40 AM z64555: or anything that's combustable/flammable
02:41 AM Jak_o_Shadows: hell that was some scrollback
02:41 AM Jak_o_Shadows: arm-none-eabi is the toolchain I use for arm
02:43 AM anonnumberanon: Jak_o_Shadows, cool
02:43 AM anonnumberanon: onlinux i assume? what do you use as an arm chip? and to connect your computer to it
02:43 AM anonnumberanon: ?
02:47 AM Jak_o_Shadows: windows & linux.
02:47 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I am stm - so it's a spy by wire typey thing?
02:47 AM Jak_o_Shadows: openocd is the software
02:47 AM Jak_o_Shadows: st-link is the hardware
02:57 AM anonnumberanon: k restarted the pc with battery inside, everything is going better than expected
02:57 AM anonnumberanon: one more cheap-ass repair accomplished!
09:24 AM rue_mohr: dont know why you people bang your head against debuggers instead of just using a io port

09:35 AM rue_mohr: it looks good till they put a little router on the end

09:41 AM rue_mohr: taig?
09:41 AM rue_mohr: Tom_L, its just a pipe L
09:45 AM rue_mohr: http://olymp.rs/images/304.jpg
09:45 AM rue_mohr: thats better
10:02 AM Tom_L: ?
10:03 AM Tom_L: that first one looks like alot of weight hung on Z
10:04 AM Tom_L: maybe a wide piece of C channel for the base...
10:06 AM Tom_itx: http://www.allmetalssupply.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/CHANNEL-SIZE-AND-WEIGHT-CHART.pdf
10:07 AM Tom_L: wonder if i can find a short piece of say 8 or 10"
10:08 AM Tom_L: would be simpler to build
12:55 PM robotustra: good day
02:40 PM robotustra: how is everything?
02:54 PM SpeedEvil: Terrible.
02:54 PM robotustra: why?
02:57 PM robotustra: SpeedEvil, but why?
03:09 PM Tom_L: ok rue_mohr, at least i found the structural library
09:07 PM Luminax-Work is now known as LuminaxWk
09:57 PM rue_mohr: ok
09:57 PM rue_mohr: I alsmost finished the keybaord for the pendant
09:58 PM rue_mohr: http://www.micro-machine-shop.com/mill_motor_upgrade_top_left.jpg
09:59 PM rue_mohr: I cant help but thinnk its the wrong size motor
09:59 PM rue_mohr: cause, the motor size is the one thing consistantly wrong
10:01 PM Tom_L: got a mill update
10:01 PM Tom_L: will post in a sec
