01:31 AM rue_mohr: evilroot,
01:31 AM rue_mohr: high
01:42 AM rue_mohr: I need ideas on what to do with 5 robot arms, something usefull
01:42 AM rue_mohr: make cookies?
01:44 AM rue_mohr: maybe I could set them up to solder pcb's for me
01:44 AM rue_mohr: I have 6
01:45 AM rue_mohr: pcb's to assemble
01:45 AM rue_mohr: ... over the last 2 years
01:46 AM rue_mohr: I think I could do a lot more with my robot arms if I had force control
01:55 AM z64555: pcb assembly is viable
04:10 AM Jak_o_Shadows: hmm.
04:10 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I do like the sorting idea
04:11 AM Jak_o_Shadows: like, just get them to sort something.
12:52 PM mumptai: what is the most annoying about actually building robots?
12:56 PM z64555: waiting for parts to ship in
01:27 PM evilroot: rue_mohr: I have mine making parts for 3d printers
01:27 PM evilroot: People I've sold my spare robots to are using them for all sorts of things
01:27 PM evilroot: One guy has his making art . . . . pouring colored sand into intricate patterns
01:28 PM evilroot: "Mandalas"
01:28 PM evilroot: One uses it for 3d printing
01:28 PM evilroot: One guy makes wooden kayaks
01:28 PM evilroot: And one does inlays for tables
01:28 PM evilroot: The art one is a SCARA arm, the rest are Cartesian
01:29 PM evilroot: I originally had 14 robots (had to buy them as a lot)
01:29 PM evilroot: Now I'm down to 5 . . . I only use three, so still have two left to sell heh
01:52 PM SpeedEvil: evilroot: I have wondered about a japanese garden robot. Rearranging gravel into fine patterns.
01:53 PM SpeedEvil: Coulour/shape/...
02:39 PM mrdata: SpeedEvil, do it
02:40 PM mrdata: extra points if it can sort multicoloured sand
02:43 PM SpeedEvil: It would also be great for making decorative concrete
02:45 PM mrdata: you can name it SpeedEvil's demon
08:09 PM governor is now known as CrazyEddy
08:47 PM evilroot: SpeedEvil: yeah, that's pretty smiliar to what he's doing
08:48 PM evilroot: I've also seen a table where a robot moves a magnet around underneath, which makes a ball bearing roll patterns in sand
09:38 PM branjb: self balancing robot coming along https://imgur.com/a/kfGOp
09:47 PM mrdata: strange
09:47 PM mrdata: how does it balance
09:48 PM branjb: it's just being held up right now
09:48 PM branjb: no wheels yet
