12:06 AM rue_house: drekipus, thats doable
12:09 AM rue_house: threads and callbacks
12:09 AM rue_house: session servers
12:09 AM rue_house: spawning and reaping
12:09 AM rue_house: well, the rewrite I'm proposing now is gonna make mincemeat out of my library
12:29 AM rue_house: hey an arc can be more than 360 degrees....
12:29 AM rue_house: oooOOOoooo...
12:40 AM rue_bed: now I'm chasing my tail, I created a vector, but I was using alternatly-interpreted points as polar
12:41 AM rue_bed: but trimming/extending lines by or to a length is much easier when its a vector based line
12:41 AM rue_bed: but I dont know if a vector line segment should use a xy or rt offset
02:43 AM Jak_o_Shadows: drekipus, yeah, i've odne similar multiple times
02:44 AM drekipus: Jak_o_Shadows, is the answer 'async'
02:44 AM Jak_o_Shadows: dunno. I did it back in python 2.6
02:44 AM Jak_o_Shadows: could very well be
02:44 AM Jak_o_Shadows: back then it was twisted (which meant callbacks) or threads and queues
03:47 AM sparrowsword: Hello! Was wondering if anyone knows where to find an autocad file of something almost identical? I do need another axis near the vacuum, but I can probably add another myself... https://grabcad.com/library/simple-robot-arm
03:57 AM sparrowsword: never used autocad b4 btw...
04:13 AM Jak_o_Shadows: why do you need cad files?
04:19 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Also, cad's not hard!
04:20 AM Jak_o_Shadows: but don't use autocad
09:39 AM rue_house: oooo 100% cantalevered, ouch
09:40 AM rue_house: https://grabcad.com/library/nachi-robotics-mc700-6-axis-industrial-robot-1
09:41 AM rue_house: THAT robot is balanced, the motors only deal with inertia and load
09:50 AM SpeedEvil: One axis is balanced
09:50 AM SpeedEvil: sort of
09:53 AM rue_house: they all are, I can explain later
04:04 PM sparrowsword: rue_house: What is that robot for that has a reach of 9.5ft for?
04:04 PM sparrowsword: rue_house: might help if i read description..
08:16 PM Jak_o_Shadows: aaaand I had failed to do my regular bolt tightening
08:16 PM Jak_o_Shadows: y-axis was slipping
08:26 PM rue_shop3: not your printer again?
08:30 PM Jak_o_Shadows: yep
08:30 PM Jak_o_Shadows: same way as before
08:35 PM rue_shop3: how do you have such a lemon of a diy printer?
08:36 PM Jak_o_Shadows: DIY, lack of mechanical skills, and half-assing too much?
08:36 PM rue_shop3: k, so, what happened?
08:36 PM Jak_o_Shadows: oh, and lack of diagnostic skills
08:36 PM rue_shop3: you shouldn't have to regularily tighten the bolts
08:37 PM Jak_o_Shadows: One of the bolts/screws/threaded thingy that holds the y-stepper motor worked itself loose
08:37 PM Jak_o_Shadows: It doesn't have enough thread holding it in I think.
08:37 PM rue_shop3: not the platic chunks they made to hold the threaded rod to the motor!?
08:37 PM Jak_o_Shadows: nope
08:37 PM rue_shop3: ?
08:37 PM Jak_o_Shadows: I don't have those - I have something a fair bit more rigid
08:37 PM Jak_o_Shadows: The literal bolt that connects to the face of the stepper motor
08:38 PM rue_shop3: I suggest having rubber rings under them, half crushing them
08:38 PM rue_shop3: you can make them from old bike tube
08:38 PM Jak_o_Shadows: why?
08:40 PM rue_shop3: proper give
08:40 PM Jak_o_Shadows: So there's a bit of flex?
08:40 PM Jak_o_Shadows: I mean, i'd ahve to get longer bolts first
08:41 PM rue_shop3: yea, they should screw in ateast 1mm, but I advise having rubber rings under the head
08:53 PM Tom_L: act as lock washers
08:54 PM Tom_L: and dampeners
10:50 PM Jak_o_Shadows: One of the main 12V screw termainsl had less power!
10:50 PM Jak_o_Shadows: no wonder it was somewhat sturggling to heatup
10:50 PM Jak_o_Shadows: (just a teensy bit)
10:51 PM rue_bed: check the lugs, your luck one of them is burning off
10:52 PM rue_bed: put old white masking tape on all your wires by the lugs, if you see any of it turning brown, FIX THE CONNECTION
10:52 PM rue_bed: beige, whatever
10:52 PM rue_bed: the old stuff
10:52 PM rue_bed: origional, whatever
10:56 PM Jak_o_Shadows: One of the screw terminals was literally not connecting anything.
10:56 PM Jak_o_Shadows: So I fixed that
10:56 PM Jak_o_Shadows: the masking tape is to check for temp of the remaining wires?
10:57 PM Jak_o_Shadows: I can't see the wires witout taking the cover off, in which case I can just look and see by hand anyway
11:02 PM rue_shop3: yea, masking take goes brown if subjected to warmth for prolonged periods of time
11:11 PM Jak_o_Shadows: huh. Fixing that wire means by extruder can do backwards and forwards again
