12:24 AM rue_: that was kinda odd
12:26 AM rue_: chrome crashed one of my monitors
12:26 AM orlock: lost both rounds i was in
12:26 AM rue_: when i flurry-clicked the download button, while it was not responding
12:26 AM orlock: i only got pushed out once
12:26 AM orlock: drove out twice
12:26 AM rue_: manual or autopilot?
12:26 AM orlock: manual
12:26 AM orlock: bot is too twitchy
12:26 AM orlock: and i had to cut the power to one mototr to get it moving straight
12:26 AM orlock: because drill motors
12:26 AM orlock: :-\
12:26 AM rue_: you manually drove out of the ring?
12:26 AM orlock: yeh, accidentally - i was controlling it with some pythin i whipped up a few hours ago
12:26 AM rue_: instead of the alg I gave ya?
12:26 AM orlock: the controller handset was too unreliable - something was crashing after a minute
12:26 AM rue_: well, you have a year to work it out
12:26 AM orlock: i didnt have any way to give variable power, it was literally just driving with WASD keys
12:26 AM orlock: yup!
12:27 AM rue_: what?! keys, ugh
12:27 AM orlock: and mmot even reading keypresses
12:27 AM orlock: i had to hit enter after each one
12:27 AM * rue_ gives orlock two 433Mhz RF modules
12:28 AM rue_: orlock, dude
12:28 AM rue_: you didn't talk to me
12:28 AM rue_: under linux?
12:28 AM orlock: I've got a pair of them, too much noise
12:28 AM orlock: linux
12:29 AM rue_: I have a C library that shows how to do character input
12:30 AM rue_: I'm trying to re-proritize what I want from my first life
12:31 AM rue_: building a robot platform to exist on for a few thousand years is a priority, but progress tot hat will only go so fast
12:31 AM rue_: so, in the meantime...
12:34 AM rue_: the brain exists in multiple functional areas, quite a number of them can be inopertive at any one time
12:34 AM rue_: one of them is get-up-and-go
12:34 AM rue_: without it, it dosn't matter what needs doing, its not likley to happen
04:43 AM Jak_o_Shadows: drekipus, did you get anywher
04:49 AM drekipus: ah with the trackers? ye
04:50 AM drekipus: haven't tested it yet but tbh it just seems like average of xy for translation, deltaY / width for rotation.
04:50 AM drekipus: ez
05:41 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Yeah. So the position things. They are in your global?
05:42 AM Jak_o_Shadows: like, does rotating on the spot work well?
06:01 AM drekipus: haven't tested it yet
06:01 AM drekipus: just fixed up the mounting and all else but got too late to solder so soldering and testing it tomorrow
09:46 AM rue_: once upon a time I solved kinda the opposite
09:47 AM rue_: but it was dependant on the robot design, distances between wheels etc
06:36 PM drekipus: damn I think I cooked the receivers
07:31 PM rue_: rf?
07:51 PM drekipus: nah I was meant to say sensors. optical mouse sensors. one's really jittery
08:00 PM rue_shop3: they are, thats why I use ball mice
08:01 PM rue_shop3: I hate it when my mouse dances into the corner of the screen
08:18 PM * SpeedEvil puts on Tina Turner - Private Dancer.
08:30 PM LuminaxWk is now known as Luminax
08:37 PM drekipus: yuck
08:37 PM drekipus: although trackballs are nice
08:37 PM drekipus: I need to get another KEM
