12:00 AM Jak_o_Shadows: it has lights on it
12:02 AM Jak_o_Shadows: and a connector for a servo
12:02 AM Jak_o_Shadows: So like,t he fan position changed
12:02 AM rue_shop3: mhm
12:02 AM rue_shop3: k
12:02 AM rue_shop3: I put mine on front
12:02 AM rue_shop3: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/reprap/p1070101.jpg
12:02 AM rue_shop3: I dont think its there on that one, but I do have an led on the element
12:31 AM Jak_o_Shadows: That's a good idea.
12:31 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I should really do something similar with the hot-end cables.
12:32 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I didn't have a whole heap of space to do things. So it's all attached using the same two botls as the hot end mount plate
12:44 AM Jak_o_Shadows: wrt the overheating, I think part of the issue is that I have an older style j-head. They don't have as big a heatsink
01:37 AM rue_house: :) I'm so happy to have my old cnc running again
01:37 AM rue_house: its not a really usable machine, but its up again, I can keep modding it
01:38 AM rue_house: need to make a new pendant
01:38 AM rue_house: cant have 1 for 3 machines
01:38 AM rue_house: oh, my spacers might be ready
01:48 AM rue_shop3: figures, design change
01:54 AM rue_shop3: I have to make more bins
01:54 AM rue_shop3: maybe if I do up another 10 or 15
02:22 AM DagoRed: rue_shop3: are you messing with arm microcontrollers yet?
03:04 AM rue_shop3: yea
03:04 AM rue_shop3: st,32
03:24 AM DagoRed: rue_shop3: have you heard of the black magic probe?
03:24 AM DagoRed: https://1bitsquared.com/products/black-magic-probe
03:30 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I have
03:30 AM Jak_o_Shadows: haven't bothered with it yet
07:36 AM mumptai: i see a number of options to remote control a robot: some nrf24l01, a esp8266 wlan/serial bridge, a BT rfcomm device
07:38 AM mumptai: but wlan requires the robot to be the AP, or require configuration to work with the current local wlan
07:39 AM mumptai: nrf24l01 is rather limited in bandwidth, but doesn't require much else but a bit more code
07:40 AM mumptai: rfcomm would be nice as it migth also allow for some logging
07:41 AM SpeedEvil: what's wrong with some config for the robot?
07:42 AM mumptai: SpeedEvil, thats kinda in the (yet) hidden assumption that this thing will travel a bit, see different infrastructures
07:43 AM mumptai: a mobile AP with a bridge to some local net would be okay, too
07:43 AM SpeedEvil: Does it matter if you can configure it easily (say an android app and press a button)
07:43 AM mumptai: but more stuff to do
07:44 AM mumptai: thinking about it, it kinda does
07:45 AM mumptai: manageing configurations is not much fun, so i prefer things not needing configuration
07:45 AM mumptai: for the case of using someother wlan, the remote has to be reconfigured also
08:25 AM mumptai: SpeedEvil, is there a good uart/wlan bridge with wps support ?
08:26 AM SpeedEvil: You do know that WPS is horribly insecure?
08:28 AM SpeedEvil: There are various packages to use WPS with ESP, googling
09:07 AM mumptai: SpeedEvil, i googled it, i saw nothing that looked really useable, therefore the question
09:18 AM mumptai: (and the esp8266 opensource stuff didn't that stable overall anyways ...)
09:19 AM SpeedEvil: k
01:00 PM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
01:40 PM rue_shop3: DagoRed, nope
02:08 PM rue_shop3: ok
02:08 PM rue_shop3: I have my stepper drivers mounted to a plate
02:09 PM rue_shop3: pulled an old trick, putting the plate on a hinge
02:09 PM rue_shop3: lots of space under it for more stuff
02:10 PM rue_shop3: remove 1 nut, fold-away, and bingo, more stuff
02:10 PM rue_shop3: the other old trick was to have the chassis a plate in the middle, with boards on each side
02:36 PM Tom_L: i used my cabinet door for that too
02:43 PM peepsalot: been trying to digest this paper for the past couple days http://projectabstracts.com/4065/design-of-a-planetary-cyclo-drive-speed-reducer-mechanical-project.html
02:45 PM peepsalot: they talk about a "theoretical", and a "working" profile for the cycloidal gear. i was able to plot the theoretical contour (Eq 2.1.36) & (Eq 2.1.37) and to the eye it looks reasonable, but when I try to use
02:46 PM peepsalot: the equations for the working profile (Eq 2.1.32) & (Eq 2.1.33), it just skews the gear which looks wrong
02:47 PM peepsalot: who like solving kinematics problems? :P
04:09 PM rue_shop3: heh
04:09 PM rue_shop3: ok, well, on my page, the idler is on the pipe bender, so its completely togethor
04:10 PM rue_shop3: I need to run thru some pipe and figure out the alignment
