02:32 AM rue_shop3: well, I finished my peice, but the 3d printer is still going
02:37 AM mrdata: um, wut
02:37 AM mrdata: it's haunted?
02:47 AM Jak_o_Shadows: lately i've been getting jams
02:47 AM Jak_o_Shadows: but like, a centimeter up/in or so
03:02 AM rue_shop3: nozzel?
03:02 AM rue_shop3: pla?
03:19 AM rue_shop3: nothing like solving the problems you dont have so you can start the ones you do
03:23 AM rue_shop3: If this problem didn't exist, how would you solve it?
03:23 AM rue_shop3: dude, that question dosn't even make sense
03:23 AM rue_shop3: no, think on it
03:28 AM Snert: take modern advertising for example.
03:28 AM Snert: they are masters at solving problems that don't exist.
03:30 AM Snert: if the problem does not exist, then invent it.
03:30 AM Snert: voila! Instaproblemo.
03:45 AM Jak_o_Shadows: nah, abs.
03:45 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Dunno what it is
03:45 AM Jak_o_Shadows: haven't looked to be honest
04:01 AM rue_shop3: WTF
04:02 AM rue_shop3: why does this M3 nut use a 7/32 sockeT!?
04:03 AM rue_shop3: Jak_o_Shadows, you and your printer do NOT get along
04:04 AM rue_shop3: I have two.3 and everyones generally happy
04:04 AM Jak_o_Shadows: pretty much
04:04 AM Jak_o_Shadows: To be fair, I get along much better than a friend with his
04:04 AM Jak_o_Shadows: he has never gotten it working.
04:04 AM * rue_shop3 shuffles around in the box...
04:04 AM rue_shop3: 2.5
04:04 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Last i helped, it was having great big pauses every 20 seconds or so
04:05 AM rue_shop3: uh
04:05 AM rue_shop3: is he running windows?
04:06 AM rue_shop3: if so, he should prolly look carefully at a SMART report for his drive....
04:08 AM rue_shop3: another possability is that it cant keep the nozzel heat up
04:09 AM rue_shop3: I suspect yours has a lack of cooling on the extruder body
04:35 AM rue_shop3: mmmm aluminum or lexan.... mmmmmm decisions decisions...
04:59 AM Jak_o_Shadows: rue, I did change that
04:59 AM Jak_o_Shadows: if I complain again, remind me of that
04:59 AM Jak_o_Shadows: also, for friends, he also tried from SD card
05:01 AM rue_shop3: then it must be locking out waiting for the nozzel temp
05:01 AM rue_shop3: fix heater wattage on nozzel
05:14 AM mumptai_: peepsalot, or maybe this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzreNQiTvQE
05:14 AM mpiii: [ 3D Printed Harmonic Drive / Strain Wave Gear Using Timing Belt - YouTube ] - www.youtube.com
05:37 AM rue_shop3: heh
05:37 AM rue_shop3: I'm replacing the Y motor on my CNC
05:37 AM rue_shop3: its 1984
05:37 AM rue_shop3: it still works, but I'm doing a size upgrade
05:37 AM rue_shop3: 33 years old
05:38 AM rue_shop3: 0.9 degrees
05:51 AM orlock: Hmmm
05:52 AM orlock: i need to shim some M10 to fit snugly into a 608 bearing
05:52 AM orlock: i wonder how manu turns of 0.1mm copper sheet it will take
06:05 AM rue_house: 3:30am, made good progress on the old cnc machine fixup
06:06 AM rue_house: orlock, I'v found that allthread will never sit properly in a bearing, you need to convert to a solid shaft somehow, my ideas all involve a lathe
07:01 AM orlock: 2 layers of kapton seems to be just right to fit tightly
07:02 AM orlock: usure what thickness this is, i think its usually 50 microns, doubling that gives .1mm anyway
09:16 AM mrdata__ is now known as mrdata
12:22 PM rue_bed: I wonder what the symbol rate is of spoken english
12:25 PM veverak: hmm
12:25 PM veverak: C++ ros code
12:25 PM veverak: like, internal code
12:26 PM veverak: is more or less writen preC++11
12:26 PM veverak: nah, ugly
12:32 PM rue_house: 110-150wpm
12:33 PM veverak: anyway
12:33 PM veverak: attiny
12:33 PM veverak: looks sweet :)
12:34 PM rue_house: at average 4 phonames /word
12:34 PM rue_house: 440-600 phonames/min
12:35 PM rue_house: so between 7 and 10 phonames/sec
12:35 PM rue_house: 140 - 100ms
12:35 PM rue_house: / phoname
12:36 PM rue_house: hmm, and typically 4Khz bandwidth
12:38 PM rue_house: so the typical phoname is distinguishable in 400 cycles
12:38 PM rue_house: or 800 8Khz samples
12:38 PM veverak: hmm
12:38 PM veverak: part of the ros code is written nicely
12:39 PM veverak: part looks like made by 'C" freak
12:39 PM rue_house: hey, I'm a C freak
12:39 PM rue_house: be nice
12:39 PM rue_house: :)
12:40 PM veverak: rue_house: I've seen your code
12:40 PM veverak: you are good C freak
12:40 PM veverak: or from what I've seen
12:40 PM veverak: but messing some of that stuff into C++ code is ...
12:41 PM rue_house: my C is usually easily rewrapped into c++ if someone is insane enough
12:41 PM veverak: C++ introduced some things
12:41 PM veverak: that makes the code self-explanatory in good way
12:41 PM veverak: but you sitll find parts of code
12:42 PM veverak: when they are like: "fukc this, I will writte it so you have do decypher it for hour"
12:42 PM rue_house: I dont know about this sept thing, my house is getting a bit cool
12:42 PM veverak: note: there is also way how to write this in C, and it will be readable
12:42 PM veverak: not this case though
12:42 PM rue_house: did you ever see my optimized software pwm code?
12:42 PM veverak: not really
12:42 PM rue_house: ooop
12:43 PM veverak: is it on github?
12:43 PM veverak: :D
12:43 PM rue_house: hmm, dunno
12:43 PM rue_house: I havn't really organized my online prescence
12:43 PM rue_house: but I thought about it, and thats what counts
12:44 PM veverak: well
12:44 PM veverak: afaik you do some good stuff
12:44 PM veverak: and if you would put it on github, it could help other people
12:44 PM rue_house: http://paste.debian.net/987423/
12:44 PM mpiii: [ debian Pastezone ] - paste.debian.net
12:45 PM rue_house: I mean, its not that bad, but its not the first way someone would do most things
12:46 PM veverak: true
12:46 PM veverak: rue_house: again, if it would be hard t oread "fast" code
12:46 PM veverak: I would not say a word against it
12:46 PM veverak: not the case
12:47 PM rue_house: it prettymuch generates assembler I'm ok with
12:47 PM rue_house: mmm showertime
01:09 PM rue_house: http://www.angusj.com/delphi/clipper.php
01:09 PM mpiii: [ Clipper - an open source freeware polygon clipping library ] - www.angusj.com
01:09 PM rue_house: that library seems to be a keystone of lots of software
01:25 PM rue_shop3: ok, what I need is a linear 'actuator' that locks and is pneumatically unlocked
01:25 PM rue_shop3: but has no motion control
01:26 PM rue_shop3: ... maybe I can do it rotational
01:26 PM rue_shop3: like a drum brake
01:26 PM rue_shop3: I'd have to find drums
01:26 PM rue_shop3: I can make them from cut pipe :P
01:26 PM rue_shop3: good idea, ok
01:30 PM rue_shop3: ah, good show rue
01:30 PM rue_shop3: mm?
02:05 PM z3t0: hi
02:06 PM z3t0: Does anyone know what the channel is for uav or quads?
02:13 PM veverak: that was fast
02:13 PM veverak: rue_shop3: do you want motion control?
02:13 PM veverak: :)
02:24 PM rue_house: ? always

02:25 PM veverak: oh, that's planning only
02:29 PM rue_shop3: I have my interpolator
11:35 PM mrdata__ is now known as mrdata
11:41 PM Jak_o_Shadows: rue, i upped the fanspeed that is cooling my extruder, and it is working better
11:42 PM Jak_o_Shadows: ok, I'm only doing 30 minute prints, but this is the third one, so I would've thought it would have broken
11:54 PM rue_shop3: yep
11:55 PM rue_shop3: if the heat works its way up the nozzel is jams dead
11:55 PM rue_shop3: with PLA ya give it a little crisco every so often to help keep the inside of the extruder non-bindable
11:56 PM Jak_o_Shadows: yeah
11:56 PM Jak_o_Shadows: and I changed the fan positionrecently
11:57 PM Jak_o_Shadows: I have one of https://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/20pcs-PCB-Prototype-PCB-Board-Circuit-Board-Protoboard-PCB-Price-Stripboard-Veroboard-5-X-7-2/32471521211.html?spm=2114.10010108.1000017.2.48f02c0tXxErC# between the cold end and the hot-end mount plate.
