02:43 AM ferdna: can anyone recommend me a professional desoldering tool... i need a smaller tip...
02:45 AM deshipu: hot air gun ftw!
02:46 AM ferdna: i am afraid to damage close by components
04:47 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Chanserv is always here
05:17 AM * deshipu pats ChanServ on the head
08:25 AM veverak: fuck my brain
08:25 AM veverak: D* finds path in graph in 'reverse'
08:25 AM veverak: 'shortst path from goal to start'
08:25 AM veverak: thing is, I need to generate the graph 'from the goal to start'
08:28 AM SpeedEvil: reverse goal and start.
08:28 AM veverak: not a good idea
08:28 AM veverak: that algorithm can handle updates as you go from 'start' to 'goal'
08:29 AM veverak: in faster way than A*
08:29 AM veverak: *much*
08:29 AM veverak: thing is, if something close to 'start' updates, it only needs to update things going from update to 'start, if something around 'goal' updates, it needs to update things going from update to 'start' again
08:29 AM veverak: => updates around goal results in more computation
08:29 AM veverak: :)
08:30 AM veverak: and usually, you get updates around the place you are, not around your goal => thus it may not be wise to reverse the order
09:05 AM rue_bed: veverak, didn't you write the alg?
09:06 AM veverak: this is about it's design, not implementation
09:07 AM orlock: rue_bed: that code is cursed!
09:07 AM veverak: it has the property that it handles updates closer to 'start' faster, when it starts search from 'goal' vertex
09:07 AM veverak: by design
09:07 AM orlock: my ESP-UDP sending code
09:27 AM rue_house: orlock, ok
11:55 AM i-make-robots: I'm trying to order disconnect terminals to attach on a micro switch. my switch legs are ~3.3mm wide and my connecting wire is 22awg. How do i pick the correct terminal to fit? is a FDD1.25-110 what I'm looking for?
07:39 PM veverak: to template madness
07:39 PM veverak: or not to template madness
08:30 PM rue_house: no templating at all
10:39 PM rue_shop3: hmm cambam can generate text jobs
10:39 PM rue_shop3: make labels in it
10:39 PM Tom_L: ahh you need a text cam now don't you?
10:40 PM Tom_L: did you find the material you needed?
10:49 PM rue_shop3: no, I'm doing other stuff with text
10:50 PM rue_shop3: I want indicator lights on the new cnc controller
10:50 PM rue_shop3: power, rx, tx, X run, Y, Z
10:50 PM Tom_L: ahh
10:51 PM rue_shop3: I took a piece of plexiglass and coated it in lots of layers of ink
10:51 PM rue_shop3: just milled thru the ink
10:51 PM Tom_L: my cad cam does text if you need something
10:51 PM rue_shop3: so I can back it with lamps
10:53 PM rue_shop3: I should have mirrored it
11:27 PM rue_shop3: damn
11:28 PM rue_shop3: it works best if you use a V bit first, and chase it with a drill
11:28 PM Tom_L: no, just a vee bit
11:28 PM rue_shop3: dont know if I want to do this a 3rd time
11:28 PM rue_shop3: the V bit I have is too sharp
11:29 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/pendant/engrave1.jpg
11:29 PM Tom_L: lots of rpm and little feed
11:29 PM rue_shop3: I'm doing something different
11:29 PM Tom_L: i tried it with a drill too and it was fugly
11:29 PM rue_shop3: this is milling out ink from clear material
11:29 PM rue_shop3: the drill flexes a lot
11:30 PM Tom_L: maybe it's too long
11:30 PM Tom_L: only needs to be || that long
11:30 PM rue_shop3: its a pcb drill, so yea
11:30 PM rue_shop3: I'm not going to buy the $10ea ones
11:30 PM rue_shop3: they snap just the same
11:30 PM Tom_L: i got these v bits cheap off ebay
11:31 PM Tom_L: but it makes it more readable with them than a drill
11:32 PM rue_shop3: the V bit cant do pocketing cleanout tho
11:32 PM Tom_L: no it can't
11:33 PM Tom_L: why not use a font that doesn't call for that? single line font
11:34 PM Tom_L: or even a 1mm endmill if you want it wider
11:34 PM rue_shop3: it would help if i took a half hour to explain =whart im doing
11:35 PM rue_shop3: too tired
11:35 PM Tom_L: i get the V bits that have like a .010 point iirc
11:35 PM Tom_L: so it's not an exact sharp point
11:35 PM Tom_L: i don't need to know
11:35 PM Tom_L: just offering experience
11:37 PM rue_shop3: :)
11:40 PM rue_shop3: google dosn't know what egg-crated backlit masked indicators are, so I cant just show you a picture
11:41 PM Tom_L: meh, i'm goin to sleep anyway
11:41 PM rue_shop3: gnight
11:41 PM Tom_L: you're just trying to back light a pannel right?
11:41 PM rue_shop3: I'm hungry, I hate being hungry, when can I be a robot?
11:41 PM rue_shop3: no
11:42 PM rue_shop3: masked indicators
11:42 PM rue_shop3: RX
11:42 PM Tom_L: same idea
11:42 PM rue_shop3: but its masked
11:42 PM rue_shop3: and a light comes on behind it
11:42 PM rue_shop3: old school
11:43 PM rue_shop3: https://cdn.instructables.com/FLK/GEAD/GAA12NXS/FLKGEADGAA12NXS.LARGE.jpg
11:43 PM rue_shop3: but not edge lit
11:45 PM rue_shop3: huh, google prioritizes the last word you give it
