01:41 AM rue_house: wow, ok I'm awake now
01:55 AM rue_house: anyone know of a simple, direct library for doing graphics?
01:56 AM alic1a: rue_house: As others have said, check out System.Drawing. (I'm only repeating that for completeness.) System.Drawing exposes the GDI+ Windows drawing library to your application.A good tutorial to get you jump-started with System.Drawing and GDI+ can be found at C# Corner. Some important items to note:Many GDI+ objects implement the IDisposable interface, and therefore should be wrapped in using blocks.
01:56 AM rue_house: linux honey, linus
02:54 AM rue_house: ok I'll be back, or not
04:25 AM rue_bed: ARG
04:55 AM Jak_o_Shadows: deshipu, that's kinda hilarious

10:58 PM Tom_L: yeah, mine turned out so so too
10:58 PM rue_shop3: I'm hoping its gonna finish booting, but its not telling me what the stalling is, and I dont like the error messages I'm getting
10:59 PM rue_shop3: the defacto kernel is horrid tho, totally reminds me why I dont do that
10:59 PM Tom_L: rue_shop3, do you know of any bios settings that would affect cmd window programs not running?
10:59 PM rue_shop3: ? no
10:59 PM Tom_L: both gigabyte MB but the new one won't allow them to run
10:59 PM rue_shop3: what are you getting?
10:59 PM Tom_L: dos shell
10:59 PM rue_shop3: oh
10:59 PM Tom_L: i get a cmd window but nothing will work now
11:00 PM rue_shop3: its probably trying to access some legacy hardware that isn't there
11:00 PM Tom_L: the old MB did it just fine
11:00 PM Tom_L: not that i know of
11:00 PM Tom_L: no
11:00 PM rue_shop3: try taking a cmd.exe from a newer windows version
11:00 PM Tom_L: i even tried the same CPU i was using on the other board
11:00 PM rue_shop3: try taking a cmd.exe from a newer windows version
11:00 PM rue_shop3: try taking a cmd.exe from a newer windows version
11:00 PM rue_shop3: try taking a cmd.exe from a newer windows version
11:00 PM Tom_L: how's that gonna help?
11:00 PM rue_shop3: it operates differently
11:01 PM Tom_L: mmm, i wonder if there may be a win7 driver to fix it
11:01 PM Tom_L: i could pull the cmd.exe like you said
11:01 PM rue_shop3: give it a try
11:01 PM Tom_L: i wonder if there are any other dll files that go with it?
11:01 PM rue_shop3: it might be a complete flop
11:01 PM rue_shop3: no
11:01 PM rue_shop3: not uusally
11:02 PM Tom_L: i even tried running in win 95 compatibility mode etc
11:02 PM Tom_L: nothing
11:02 PM rue_shop3: I'm only half me without that other computer going
11:02 PM rue_shop3: you can dumb '95 into dos
11:02 PM Tom_L: other than that, i'm pretty happy with the upgrade
11:02 PM rue_shop3: haha
11:02 PM rue_shop3: useless computer, BUT LOOK AT ALL THE NEW SOFTWARE!
11:03 PM Tom_L: it's something i use win 32 and 64bit on and old dos programs
11:03 PM Tom_L: so eventually something must give
11:03 PM Tom_L: i've got others that work fine for some of those tasks
11:04 PM Tom_L: the new ssd is nice
11:04 PM Tom_L: sequential read: 2141MB/s write: 1678MB/s random read: 409,868 IOPS write: 370,018 IOPS
11:04 PM Tom_L: standard ssd: 545MB/s write: 517MB/s random read: 72,211 IOPS write: 70,569 IOPS
11:05 PM Tom_L: for cad cam it's great
11:05 PM Tom_L: rue_shop3, would cmd.exe be in the x86 directory or the regular sys directory?
11:08 PM rue_shop3: CRAP
11:09 PM rue_shop3: it says the array filesystem is messed up
11:09 PM rue_shop3: fFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
11:09 PM Tom_L: having a bad time of your update?
11:15 PM Tom_L: it won't let me rename the old one
11:16 PM rue_shop3: ok, its ok
11:17 PM rue_shop3: but the system boot is completely messed up
11:17 PM Tom_L: also, it won't let me run the other one
11:17 PM rue_shop3: bad time, this is a once-every-7-years bad
11:17 PM Tom_L: says it's not a valid win32 program
11:17 PM rue_shop3: I might have to create a new system from the ground up
11:17 PM Tom_L: if anybody can fix it i'm sure you can
11:17 PM rue_shop3: I think systemd is pooched
11:18 PM rue_shop3: its just a matter of how much blood it wants to behave again
11:18 PM rue_shop3: but I cant think about anything else till its back up
11:18 PM rue_shop3: its gonna ruin my weekend
11:18 PM Tom_L: i know the feeling...
11:19 PM Tom_L: what pc is this? your main one?
11:34 PM rue_shop3: yup
11:35 PM rue_shop3: it occurs to me that it would be a good idea to clone the main drive before a big upgrade, and rewind
11:35 PM rue_shop3: cause at this point, I'd rather have hand compiled every app I wanted rather than go thru this
11:38 PM Tom_L: wow
11:40 PM rue_shop3: I'll get over it
11:40 PM rue_shop3: hopefully I dont need to buy a new video card
11:40 PM Tom_L: why would you?
11:40 PM rue_shop3: driver support
11:41 PM rue_shop3: nvidia GT3
11:41 PM rue_shop3: iirc
11:43 PM rue_shop3: the new hardware dosn't hold support for that long
11:43 PM rue_shop3: maybe 2 or 3 years
11:48 PM * rue_shop3 tries to distract himself
11:52 PM Tom_L: hmm
11:53 PM Tom_L: xilinx compiles alot quicker now
11:55 PM rue_shop3: :)
11:57 PM Tom_L: used to be able to get a snack and come back to it
11:58 PM Tom_L: funny thing, the MB _still_ has parport and serial connectors
