07:49 PM rue_more: ALL the servos for the hexapod arrived today
07:52 PM Tom_itx: i dunno if it's my breadboard or what but after a few toggles it kinda peters out and won't switch the relay. granted the relay is connected to 12v
07:52 PM Tom_itx: maybe that's the issue
07:52 PM Tom_itx: wonder if 330 ohm is the right r for the led
07:53 PM Tom_itx: it does for a bit
07:53 PM rue_more: besides, 12V is borderline enough for a 24V rlay anyhow
07:53 PM Tom_itx: wb you stupid bot
07:53 PM Tom_itx: yeah
07:53 PM rue_more: it might not work casue you were running it on 12V
07:53 PM Tom_itx: it was the largest walwart i could find within arm's reach
07:54 PM Tom_itx: these are some nice relays for sure
07:54 PM veverak: rue_more: what servos?
07:54 PM Tom_itx: probably $40 retail
07:54 PM Tom_itx: plus the din mount
07:54 PM rue_more: SG90 yeaaaaa!
07:54 PM veverak: ah, I see :)
07:54 PM rue_more: Tom_itx, how much did you pay?
07:55 PM Tom_itx: 10
07:55 PM rue_more: ah cool
07:55 PM Tom_itx: i figured that was fair
07:55 PM Tom_itx: you want some?
07:55 PM rue_more: no I'm good, thaks
07:56 PM rue_more: not bad, this stuff was ordered july23
07:56 PM rue_more: thats only like 4 weeks
07:56 PM veverak: I was thinking of odroid
07:56 PM rue_more: ? sg90 is $1 ea
07:56 PM rue_more: (usd , but whatever)
07:58 PM veverak: http://www.hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G143452239825
07:58 PM Tom_itx: rue_more, i'll try it tomorrow on the control
07:58 PM rue_more: $59!?
07:59 PM rue_more: I dont need anything that valuable
07:59 PM veverak: gigabit ethernet, usb3, eight cores, 2GB of RAM,
07:59 PM Tom_itx: long day, gonna cash in early i think
07:59 PM veverak: sounds nice
07:59 PM rue_more: veverak, you got a use or gonna put it on a shelf?
08:01 PM veverak: rue_more: got robot that needs brainz
08:01 PM veverak: rpi3 started to malfunction
08:01 PM veverak: got nothing else to use
08:01 PM veverak: except adding arduino, which will control i2c
08:02 PM veverak: (i2c pwm driver)
08:02 PM rue_more: ah
08:02 PM veverak: and controlling it with laptop
08:02 PM veverak: you know
08:02 PM rue_more: for a sec, I was alll excited
08:02 PM veverak: 2m USB is "wireless" enough
08:02 PM orlock: veverak: i'm using a little gl-inet router for my robot brains
08:02 PM veverak: :)
08:02 PM rue_more: I thought you did an i2c via synchronous converter
08:02 PM orlock: veverak: 650Mhz, and it cost $30
08:02 PM orlock: and actual wireless control to it from an esp8266
08:03 PM veverak: nah
08:03 PM veverak: orlock: that delay could be troublesome
08:03 PM veverak: :)
08:03 PM orlock: veverak: no noticable delay that i can see
08:03 PM rue_more: the wifi delay of the usb delay?
08:03 PM rue_more: 3Tbit, but a 2 second delay
08:04 PM veverak: wifi delay
08:04 PM veverak: or, hmm
08:04 PM orlock: just need to figure out the decay values for the rotational velocity i get from the quad encoder i'm using for steering
08:04 PM rue_more: enought time TO MAKE YOU QUESTION HAVING CLICKED THAT LINK
08:04 PM orlock: veverak: its imperceptible to me
08:05 PM orlock: using UDP too
08:05 PM orlock: so it literally just spews data without waiting for a response
08:06 PM rue_more: how did you frame it?
08:07 PM orlock: rue_more: no framing, just reading from serial and sending what i read as the payload for a UDP packet
08:08 PM orlock: the actual meaningfull data though, is the timing between the pulses, as that determines the velocity
08:09 PM orlock: and the "fun bit" will be determining the velocity decay between pulses
08:10 PM rue_more: so its just a single stream of 8 bit an 8 bit value
08:10 PM rue_more: of 1 8 bit value
08:10 PM orlock: yeah
08:10 PM orlock: but it could really just be 1 bit
08:10 PM orlock: or i could even just send the data on different ports, and use the port the data came in on
08:11 PM orlock: or, for increased accuracy, i could collect the timing information from the handset, and send that over wireless
08:13 PM rue_more: 5! servos
08:13 PM rue_more: 5+4+3+2+1
08:13 PM rue_more: = 15 servos!
08:14 PM rue_more: for my 18 servo hexapod
08:14 PM rue_more: yay
08:14 PM rue_more: I have to make about 18 6mm pins
08:14 PM rue_more: and sit and assemble it all
08:14 PM rue_more: got the last parts printed yesterday
08:15 PM rue_more: I need to port my m32 code to f108 and try my dual acting muscle
08:15 PM rue_more: once I get that going, the world in mine
08:29 PM rue_more: 8, 16, 24
08:29 PM rue_more: I'll have to make a 24 channel servo controller
09:42 PM rue_bed: damnit, there is stuff at the hospital Iwas supposed to take away
09:42 PM rue_bed: arg
09:44 PM synja: how is your spider coming along?
09:44 PM rue_bed: well, I got all the servos today
09:44 PM rue_bed: then I fell asleep
09:44 PM rue_bed: which is REALLY annnoying
09:44 PM rue_bed: nothing can seem to keep me awake
09:44 PM synja: not motors?
09:44 PM synja: i thought it was large
09:44 PM rue_bed: no, 9g servos
09:45 PM synja: oh
09:45 PM rue_bed: the 12' mecha is airmuscle
09:45 PM synja: ah gotcha
09:46 PM rue_bed: I'd be like the 6th person in the world to have a large mecha if I could get that damn thing togethor
09:46 PM rue_bed: ARG
09:47 PM rue_bed: I'm not good at winning races
09:47 PM rue_bed: i'm medicre at comming in 2nd
09:48 PM rue_more: if I win, you didn't try verry hard
09:50 PM rue_shop3: ok
09:50 PM rue_shop3: ok
10:03 PM Tom_itx: so rue_shop3, how far along are you on it?
10:03 PM rue_shop3: just need to make the pins
10:03 PM rue_shop3: er, the 12' mecha?
10:03 PM Tom_itx: uh huh
10:04 PM rue_shop3: I GOT AN ENGINE!
10:04 PM rue_shop3: have to pick over it
10:04 PM Tom_itx: what kind
10:04 PM rue_shop3: its currently a boat outbaord
10:04 PM rue_shop3: its the 2 stoke 2 HP
10:04 PM rue_shop3: mixed
10:04 PM Tom_itx: ahh the 2stroke thing
10:04 PM rue_shop3: which is exactly what I was aiming for
10:04 PM Tom_itx: bad thing is that's water cooled
10:05 PM rue_shop3: watercooled could be an added bonux
10:05 PM Tom_itx: not air
10:05 PM rue_shop3: w
10:05 PM rue_shop3: no that could be good
10:05 PM Tom_itx: you think?
10:05 PM rue_shop3: yea, I can put the cooler anywhere I want
10:06 PM Tom_itx: went to see my bud today on the way home
10:06 PM Tom_itx: he's traded his old car for a 67 camaro
10:07 PM Tom_itx: 9 sec
10:07 PM Tom_itx: drag car
10:07 PM rue_shop3: heh
10:07 PM Tom_itx: it's got an electric water pump on it too
10:07 PM rue_shop3: most of the guys that come by here are car guys, It drives me crazy
10:07 PM Tom_itx: that's why i brought it up
10:08 PM Tom_itx: he's gettin pretty old
10:08 PM Tom_itx: still runs the cars though
10:08 PM Tom_itx: he's the one that had the cnc shop
10:09 PM Tom_itx: still has one but it's gettin kinda old
10:13 PM rue_shop3: do you think stupidity is contagious?
10:22 PM Tom_itx: i dunno but i do know this
10:22 PM Tom_itx: you can't fix it
11:11 PM orlock: Tom_itx: That's getting close to the point where you don't worry about a water pump!
11:11 PM orlock: Tom_itx: so must be somewhat streetable then?
11:27 PM LuminaxWk is now known as Luminax
11:54 PM rue_shop3: the 12' mecha
11:54 PM rue_shop3: I'm sure you could take it to the streets if you wanted
11:54 PM rue_shop3: might hold up lots of traffic tho
