12:04 AM rue_shop3: ok I done welded myself a pipe rack
12:07 AM rue_shop3: I'll take pics tommoorw
12:07 AM rue_shop3: and paint it
12:07 AM rue_shop3: I suppose
12:19 AM anniepoo: sweet!
12:19 AM anniepoo: 8cD
12:19 AM anniepoo: I should be taking a mold, but I'm slacking off
12:25 AM rue_house: taking?
12:25 AM rue_house: making?
12:25 AM rue_house: my two bandsaw blades arrived today! yay, if two break, I'm ok
12:25 AM rue_house: ($24 ea..)
12:26 AM anniepoo: yes, making - it's 'taking' like 'I'm going to take a copy of this'
12:27 AM anniepoo: 8cP
12:35 AM rue_house: oooh, gotcha
01:13 AM rue_house: Jak_o_Shadows, you up yet?
02:48 AM anniepoo: ok, poured the cross
02:49 AM anniepoo: tormorrow I'll pour the other half. Trying to figure out how to pour jesus
02:49 AM anniepoo: (we're making crosses - don't ask)
09:14 AM rue_house: at midnight!? odd
09:15 AM rue_house: was there a full moon?
12:53 PM anniepoo: 8cP didn't get a small section completely mixed. Need a shake mixer!

07:52 PM rue_shop3: my duty code didn't work, but I think I worked out why
07:52 PM rue_shop3: if I dont see an edge, I assume the duty was 100%
07:52 PM rue_shop3: but that will happen if its 0 as well
07:52 PM Tom_L: seems like a real problem
07:52 PM rue_shop3: I just need to check the pin and then decide its 100%
07:52 PM Tom_L: will a carry bit be set if it's 100%
07:53 PM rue_shop3: no
07:53 PM rue_shop3: I capture the timer when I finish the control pulse
07:53 PM rue_shop3: when I see an edge, I recapture it, and diff
07:53 PM rue_shop3: if I start another pulse, and there was no edge, I assume 100%
07:54 PM Tom_L: i had somewhat of a similar issue with my spindle control when switching to reverse before it stopped
07:54 PM Tom_L: or switching it from full fwd to full rev
07:54 PM rue_shop3: forward was backwards?
07:54 PM Tom_L: the PID would go nuts
07:54 PM rue_shop3: yea
07:54 PM rue_shop3: it can do that
07:54 PM Tom_L: i fixed it
07:55 PM rue_shop3: was it their pid or yours?
07:55 PM Tom_L: some sort of filter, i forget now
07:55 PM Tom_L: it was linuxcnc pid
07:55 PM rue_shop3: do you know what kinda pid they used?
07:55 PM rue_shop3: simple/.../...
07:55 PM rue_shop3: simple normal standard?
07:55 PM Tom_L: iirc it has more than 3 terms
07:55 PM rue_shop3: hmm, I need to make a PID book
07:56 PM Tom_L: you can look at it
07:56 PM rue_shop3: nah
07:56 PM rue_shop3: I'm not doing pid right now
07:56 PM rue_shop3: force feedback
07:56 PM rue_shop3: I'd like to set up negitive force feedback, when you touch the servo it helps you push it away
07:57 PM Tom_L: http://linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/man/man9/pid.9.html
07:57 PM Tom_L: actually i think they have 2 pid functions
07:57 PM rue_shop3: I dont want to sleep
07:58 PM rue_shop3: I want to paint the pipe rack I made yesterday
07:58 PM Tom_L: eat supper and you will for sure
08:00 PM Tom_L: i don't think my spindle would normally do that but i wanted to test extremes
08:04 PM Tom_L: i've got a woodpecker that comes back to the same spot every year
08:12 PM rue_house: yea
08:13 PM rue_house: tehre is one that seems to be trying to ring my trees

11:21 PM z64555: wonder if I could repurpose a drill chuck to be a lathe chuck
11:21 PM Tom_L: sure
11:21 PM Tom_L: put a different taper on the end
11:22 PM Tom_L: most drill chucks are threaded though
11:23 PM z64555: which kind of chuck would I try to look for?
11:23 PM z64555: s/would/should
11:26 PM Tom_L: some have a tapered end
11:26 PM Tom_L: my lathe chuck is such and then has a morse taper to fit the tailstock
11:29 PM z64555: hmmm, I've got some old drills that I can dig through. one may be promising
11:30 PM z64555: naturally I won't be able to get very large rods through them, but it might be big enough for some common sizes of wood dowel rod
11:32 PM z64555: dangit
11:32 PM z64555: I'm starting to sound more and more like rue
11:32 PM z64555: oh, and thanks, Tom_L
11:53 PM aberon: lol yeah; good job
