09:34 AM rue_house: zhanx, hmm, if you would only build a wax printer with me
09:47 AM robotustra: rue_house: wax 3d printer? or printer for PCB?
09:48 AM rue_house: wax
09:48 AM rue_house: for making casting positives
09:48 AM robotustra: yesterday one guy told me that inkjet printer could be modified to print on PCB
09:48 AM robotustra: ah
09:48 AM rue_house: yup
09:48 AM rue_house: the ink is trickey
09:49 AM rue_house: you need a pizo head iirc
09:49 AM rue_house: cant remember who's heads are pizo
09:49 AM robotustra: the wax printer is also interesting
09:49 AM rue_house: 3d wax printer
09:49 AM robotustra: I think I want it too
09:49 AM robotustra: yep
09:49 AM rue_house: you just load a syringe with wax and print
09:49 AM rue_house: the temps are critical, but they are anyhow
09:50 AM robotustra: or just put the candle
09:50 AM rue_house: syringe for precise volume control
09:50 AM robotustra: it is
09:51 AM rue_house: Id also like to see what happens when slicer is told the filament is 20mm dia
09:51 AM robotustra: but it's one of the tasks
09:51 AM rue_house: at like, 25000 steps/mm
09:52 AM robotustra: it doesnt really matter, you need to modify extruder anyway
09:52 AM rue_house: yea
09:52 AM rue_house: need a syringe extruder
09:52 AM robotustra: you can make as small feed is needed
09:52 AM rue_house: geared stepper
09:52 AM robotustra: I would use cylindrical candle
09:52 AM robotustra: no
09:53 AM rue_house: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:482873
09:53 AM robotustra: liquid
09:54 AM rue_house: yea, you have to use a heated glass syringe
09:55 AM robotustra: I would use not a syringe but king of cartrige in which I put whole candle
09:55 AM rue_house: and I can see how you might think that would be a good idea
09:55 AM robotustra: and melt only the beginning of that candle
09:55 AM rue_house: .. do you have a printer?
09:56 AM robotustra: yes
09:56 AM robotustra: romax v2 delta
09:56 AM rue_house: do you know what material volume you usually use?
09:56 AM robotustra: yes
09:56 AM robotustra: slicer calculates that
09:57 AM robotustra: BEFORE print
09:57 AM rue_house: but are you familiar in your head with the approx numbers
09:57 AM rue_house: what I'v realized is that having a finite amount of material really isn't a problem, most prints that I do dont use up much
09:57 AM robotustra: of cause, when I draw a model I already know the volume of material
09:58 AM robotustra: more over, there is an "infill"
09:58 AM robotustra: you can put it really small to save material
09:59 AM robotustra: the biggest print I ever did was about 180 grams - and it's really huge thing
09:59 AM robotustra: not gramd but cubic cm
10:00 AM rue_house: I'm thinking that I'll set up the next printer as a syringe printer
10:00 AM robotustra: so, 200 g candle can print really big thing
10:01 AM robotustra: most probably I'll also woll start to build xyz printer as wax printer
10:01 AM robotustra: that could be easily modified to chocolate printer
10:03 AM rue_house: and frosting
10:05 AM rue_house: ooo sugar printers
10:05 AM rue_house: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjKFBc5e6D4
10:06 AM GuShH: robotustra: hi, fine and you?
10:06 AM rue_house: someone needs to work on their printer settings
10:09 AM robotustra: good, thanks
12:50 PM zhanx: rue_house: fine
12:50 PM zhanx: I will work on with you
12:50 PM zhanx: wait, i just need motor controls and a printer head now
03:10 PM robotustra: hande hoch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq_5xcJNv3w
06:31 PM goppo: if i need a 5V-6V power supply for a hobby servo, would it be better to use a single lipo and step up or a several lipo and step down?
06:46 PM veverak: goppo: Iwould use 2s+ li-po and UBEC
06:46 PM veverak: :)
06:47 PM goppo: veverak, why not step up?
06:59 PM robotustra: google speaker is cool
06:59 PM robotustra: tts
07:00 PM robotustra: with comparison to linux tts
07:00 PM robotustra: https://youtu.be/AlfgZc-5zbw
07:06 PM robotustra: it's pity that linux tt is shit, and the robot will speak like shit using text2wave
07:29 PM branjb: oh man, I'm excited at work. we might be taking on a project with a denso 6 axis that I would get to play with
07:36 PM robotustra: branjb: to whom are you talking?
07:55 PM rue_house: robotustra, does that use festival?
07:55 PM robotustra: this video is not
07:56 PM robotustra: this one is google tts
07:56 PM rue_house: its too bad they closed the sprint tts demo
07:56 PM robotustra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrS0GAyTQx8
07:56 PM rue_house: or was it at&t
07:56 PM rue_house: anyhow, it was good
07:56 PM robotustra: this one is festival
07:56 PM rue_house: yea
07:57 PM rue_house: thats festival
07:57 PM rue_house: festival sucks
07:57 PM robotustra: but it's the only speaks russian
08:01 PM rue_shop3: I have a tts that I was working on with someone. Its called PhRANC
08:02 PM rue_shop3: PHonetic Reader And Noise Compiler
08:02 PM rue_shop3: its not done yet, it lacks the audio system
08:02 PM rue_shop3: but its also got a russian accent
08:07 PM robotustra: accent, or reading?
08:07 PM robotustra: it would be cool to have tts which speaks english with russian accent
08:11 PM robotustra: rue_house: did you make it for linux?
08:13 PM robotustra: or multiplatform?
08:17 PM Tom_L: there are sure side effects from rummaging thru old code
08:17 PM Tom_L: tryin to add updates and modify it slightly
09:16 PM robotustra: why not to make simple prostetic tentacles instead of complex arms? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gatz48E800
09:18 PM Jak_o_Shadows: I am going to make a robot tentacle at some point
09:28 PM rue_shop3: you sick dog
09:29 PM Jak_o_Shadows: I'm gonna call it a tail though
09:30 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Stick it on the quadrapod
09:53 PM robotustra: japanese are screwed almost completely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkcKaNqfykg
10:08 PM Jak_o_Shadows: To be honest
10:08 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Potentially better than amazon ech
10:16 PM robotustra: what is amazon ech?
10:16 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Amazon's home automation-isque thing. You speak to it, and it does things. Like, turn lights on if you've gone all in, or just googles things for you
10:16 PM Jak_o_Shadows: To do the voice recognition, it sends all of it offsite though
10:18 PM robotustra: robot should know what to do by itself
10:19 PM robotustra: but to speak woth virtual girl because you a looser - it's not cool at all
10:35 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Well, mor ethe home atuomation bit. If it doesn't track everything it hears and you do in the house
10:58 PM Anniepoo_: cut cardboard for mockup of snail today
11:32 PM Jak_o_Shadows: nice
11:33 PM rue_house: cool
11:34 PM rue_house: w2aterjet?
11:36 PM Jak_o_Shadows: stanley knife?
11:38 PM rue_house: disco laser?
11:40 PM * rue_house nudges Jak_o_Shadows
11:40 PM Jak_o_Shadows: I didn't quite get the joke
11:41 PM rue_house: :(
11:43 PM Jak_o_Shadows: You could explain it?
11:43 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Also, is stanley knife an australianism?
11:48 PM rue_house: I need tiny10 code that manipulates the addresss of traffic on an i2c bus
11:48 PM rue_house: subtracts two
11:48 PM rue_house: I suppose
11:49 PM rue_house: these mcp4725 look cool
11:49 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Something that changes the address Just sits in the middle?
11:49 PM rue_house: got 10, not cheap tho
11:49 PM rue_house: sits in the middle of a bus and changes the addresses from the controller
11:49 PM rue_house: so I can use devices with the same address
11:50 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Yes.
11:50 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Would be handy
11:52 PM rue_house: TCA9548?
11:52 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Stnaley knife is like a procket knife? Utility knife says google. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Aaknife2.jpg
11:52 PM Jak_o_Shadows: Wait, wiki says this is x-acto? what?
11:54 PM rue_house: oo coool
11:54 PM rue_house: the tca9548 splits an i2c bus into 8 channels
11:55 PM rue_house: hahahah no...
11:55 PM rue_house: hahahhaha
11:56 PM rue_house: its just a mux with a parallel address line
11:56 PM rue_house: its just a dual 1x8 switch
11:57 PM rue_house: or.... !?!?!?!
11:58 PM rue_house: wtf did they do
11:58 PM rue_house: ah, the parallel lines select which address the mux is
11:58 PM rue_house: and you talk to the mux over i2c to set the bus you want to enable
