01:43 AM rue_house: I'd also like to know if I can actaully tell slic3r I have a 20mm filament and like 13000 steps/mm
01:55 AM rue_bed: oh no
01:55 AM rue_bed: I have a song stuck in my head
01:55 AM rue_bed: every time this happens, someone I know dies
02:04 AM Jak_o_Shadows: oh rue, I didn't print it
02:04 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Hmm. Yes, quick connects. But not to the tap
02:16 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Also, I'm probably more interested in how you did the thread. I'd like to print to attach to carbonated drink bottles
03:22 AM rue_bed: I made a model that I subtract from the hole I want to thread, its 800% faster than modeling the threads all at once
03:23 AM rue_bed: Jak_o_Shadows, your extrusion mult is out, I'm sure of it
03:23 AM rue_bed: well, dialing back to 150% on the first layer will help
03:24 AM zhanx: 800 debug code calls later and i feel like i wasted time
03:24 AM rue_bed: there are already bottle threads on thingiverse tho
03:24 AM rue_bed: zhanx, for which?
03:25 AM zhanx: my mesh network
03:25 AM rue_bed: ah., what seems to be the problem
03:25 AM zhanx: gonna revert the code
03:25 AM zhanx: it no longer reports the data
03:25 AM zhanx: but reports in serial
03:25 AM rue_bed: hmm
03:26 AM rue_bed: no time to talk a while
03:26 AM zhanx: same here
03:26 AM rue_bed: pile up your troubles and I'll try to sort them out later
03:26 AM zhanx: gonna pick it up tomorrow
03:27 AM rue_bed: did an online trainging thing for a few hours
03:27 AM rue_bed: ugh
03:28 AM rue_bed: ever watch a training video where the voice actor didn't have a clue of what he was talking about?
03:28 AM zhanx: yep
03:28 AM zhanx: and it was 1000 times worse
03:28 AM rue_bed: and they make an array of minor errors?
03:29 AM zhanx: ok bed time
03:29 AM rue_bed: didn't know that most of the cheap fiber optics run at 850nm tho
03:36 AM Jak_o_Shadows: I printed something real quick, just a tiny little thing (so I have yet to print your thing yet) - but the base extrusion thing, and the bed height helped.
03:36 AM Jak_o_Shadows: My brim aint sticking too well to the body, but one thing at a time
04:43 AM baghel_: a team at my college is building a satellite to orbit the moon. check it out: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/triteia-cube-satellite-to-orbit-the-moon-space-engineering
05:06 AM Jak_o_Shadows: Jeez. 110k is BARELY enough
05:07 AM Jak_o_Shadows: If you had a 5 year development cycle, and were doing a lot of it yourself, for no labour costs.
05:07 AM Jak_o_Shadows: What's their attitude determination?
05:07 AM Jak_o_Shadows: That's kinda hard, especially when you aint got no magnetosphere
05:12 AM deshipu: magnetospheres are for wussies
05:20 AM Jak_o_Shadows: well, it's a piss easy way of figuring out ROUGHLY where you are.
05:24 AM Jak_o_Shadows: and my "piss easy", you still need a gps
05:25 AM deshipu: I always know where I am
05:25 AM deshipu: the problem is with where all the other things are
05:27 AM deshipu: but that's what we have annihilation rays for
05:27 AM deshipu: to make sure they are "nowhere"
05:29 AM veverak: :)))
05:50 AM deshipu: veverak: the cursed project finally worked!
05:51 AM Jak_o_Shadows: What project?
05:53 AM deshipu: it's a simple led matrix shield for d1 mini
05:53 AM deshipu: but I went through 6 PCB prototypes before I got it to work
05:53 AM deshipu: finally I ran out of mistakes to make
05:54 AM Snert: I was wrong. Once. Back in '69. Found out I was merely mistaken.
05:55 AM veverak: :D
05:55 AM veverak: deshipu: congrats!
05:55 AM deshipu: now ordered this https://cdn.hackaday.io/images/8124011489572558124.png
05:55 AM deshipu: and will make 40 of them
05:56 AM deshipu: fun fact: those 8x8 matrices can be used to display AprilTag fiducials
06:00 AM veverak: :)))
06:19 AM deshipu: oh, also the "crazy color" boards from dirtypcbs finally arrived
06:19 AM deshipu: after merely 2 months
06:47 AM endie is now known as Guest50738
09:29 PM rue_bed: your in canada?
09:31 PM zhanx: rue_bed: wife said get a 3d printer. dont make one buy one :(

09:33 PM rue_bed: and not a bit better in quality
09:36 PM zhanx: yea but working same day i get it. and its $300 vs $150ish (you know i like to make stuff fancy)
09:37 PM orlock: i just want a nice frame design i can laser cut
09:38 PM zhanx: orlock i want a laser cutter :D
09:38 PM orlock: i don't have one, but there's a place that gives decent prices
09:38 PM zhanx: i have to order my stuff, and right now its pricey for me
09:39 PM zhanx: so 3d printer is next
09:42 PM zhanx: which rue_bed knows i have wants for about 3 years
10:58 PM rue_house: do you have 5 heavy nema 18 steppers?
10:58 PM rue_house: like, not floppy head motors
10:58 PM rue_house: scanners or printers
10:59 PM rue_house: https://www.se.rit.edu/~tabeec/RIT_441/Resources_files/How%20To%20Write%20Unmaintainable%20Code.pdf
10:59 PM rue_house: this does make a good read
