06:55 AM mun: does anyone know if where i could find some 5mm-8mm plastic timing pulleys?
06:58 AM mun: i can only find pulleys but not timing pulleys...
06:59 AM Snert: tried SPI/SD?
07:00 AM mun: Snert, the smallest they've got is 11mm
07:08 AM Snert: industrial automation?
07:09 AM Snert: I get my encoders there.
07:30 AM zhanx__ is now known as zhanx
07:47 AM Tom_L: try mcmaster too
07:59 AM mun: hmm
09:18 AM BitEvil is now known as SpeedEvil
09:19 AM tsglove: Good morning all
09:19 AM veverak: \o
09:24 AM tsglove: o/
09:24 AM tsglove: how's it going veverak
09:24 AM tsglove: ?
09:25 AM veverak: chillin
04:45 PM Snert__ is now known as Snert_
07:55 PM anonnumberanon: $60 used stick welder is just as good as former $400 mig welder
08:14 PM Snert: I bet it has alot to do with the person running it too.
08:14 PM Snert: you must know what you're doing
08:15 PM zhanx: or its well maintained, and was 400 new, and now 60 to just sell it.
08:26 PM anonnumberanon: it was 80 new
08:26 PM anonnumberanon: thanks Snert :)
08:27 PM Snert: my buddy tossed a perfectly good welder because he couldn't get it.
08:27 PM Snert: he couldn't keep the stick from sticking to the work.
08:28 PM Snert: couldn't figger out how to draw an arc.
08:28 PM anonnumberanon: i fought with the stick for 30 minutes before getting it
08:28 PM synja: needed to up the amps
08:28 PM Snert: synja: I agree but too late.
08:28 PM synja: heh
08:28 PM anonnumberanon: its just one of the there when you have to try intil it works
08:29 PM Snert: he's not the brightest cake under a candle.
08:29 PM anonnumberanon: i got avery thick extension cable for less power loss and that helped a lot
08:29 PM anonnumberanon: lol
08:30 PM anonnumberanon: people need to learn about perseverance..
08:31 PM Snert: he can barely read the destructions.
08:31 PM Snert: so I gave up.
08:31 PM synja: correct welding procedures are relatively difficult to learn without training
08:32 PM rue_house: pffff
08:33 PM rue_house: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt
08:33 PM Snert: done!
08:33 PM Snert: beautiful weld, dude.
08:33 PM rue_house: :)
08:34 PM synja: great. now i have to rely on TTS since you didn't tell me when you were doing it
08:37 PM rue_house: series two car battieries, jump with 8" of #12 steel wire, hook on jumper cables to batteries, clip - to the workpiece, and put the stick in the + clip, remember to wear a mask
08:38 PM synja: i saw that on macgyver once
08:45 PM anonnumberanon: haha
08:46 PM anonnumberanon: except car batteries are hella expensive
09:17 PM anniepoo: A great book on stick welding is the Hobart book,
09:17 PM anniepoo: published during WWII to train zillions of welders
09:17 PM anniepoo: they're available cheap used.
10:27 PM Wetmelon: Anyone familiar with DH frame assignments?
10:29 PM Wetmelon: lol Snert. Today I went to TIG with a new machine and the guy told me "Oh yeah, it doesn't have HF start, so you need to strike an arc." I've never done that in my life... had no problem. What's hard about it? I imagine just the power in stick is higher and causes it to stick more?
11:07 PM anniepoo: My fisheye lenses came today
11:07 PM anniepoo: that means removing the stock lens from the picamera
11:12 PM anniepoo: any advice?
11:14 PM zhanx: what lens and camera?
11:14 PM zhanx: links please
11:16 PM anniepoo: Picamera, 8MP version
11:16 PM anniepoo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015EE7G58/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
11:16 PM anniepoo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019S5Q4XE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
11:17 PM anniepoo: bought these two lenses
11:17 PM zhanx: thread bases dont work right?
11:19 PM anniepoo: I have a thread bas adapter
11:19 PM zhanx: or is it you didn't try to unthread the stock with a pair of tweezers?
11:20 PM zhanx: ok
11:20 PM anniepoo: I'm asking advice *before* performing dicey looking operation on my camera 8cD
11:20 PM zhanx: there sometimes is some glue on them, little heat works
11:20 PM anniepoo: ok, a little heat being gently with reflow air?
11:21 PM zhanx: yes and tweezers or tool to rotate it
11:21 PM anniepoo: and should I try to dismount camera from pcb first?
11:21 PM zhanx: i did that and bought a new one.
11:22 PM anniepoo: as in 'I did that and destroyed it?'
11:22 PM zhanx: yep
11:22 PM anniepoo: http://wiki.raspberrytorte.com/index.php?title=Camera_Module_Lens_Modifcation
11:22 PM anniepoo: this page says to do it
11:23 PM zhanx: too this point if want i thought you meant, until remove it from board, which i failed at
11:23 PM zhanx: http://wiki.raspberrytorte.com/images/thumb/7/74/RemoveLensFromRPiCamModule.png/200px-RemoveLensFromRPiCamModule.png
11:23 PM zhanx: sorry distracted
11:23 PM anniepoo: I haven't touched anything yet
11:24 PM zhanx: go slow, force nothing
11:24 PM anniepoo: per page I posted, first step is remove the tiny camera connector from pcb
11:24 PM zhanx: thats normal, i thought it was ccd from pcb
11:24 PM anniepoo: second step is to remove camea component bodily
11:25 PM zhanx: thats the plastic
11:25 PM zhanx: the ccd / cmos sensor etc is solder to the board
