[00:00:25] <rue_house> I have a bunch of different sized ends, I swap them for whatever I need
[00:00:38] <rue_house> 1x3, 2x6, 1x4....
[00:01:13] <rue_house> I'm trying not to buy them with 1x1 ends as I now have tonnes of them
[00:03:35] <rue_house> the china tap may be turned off soon
[00:03:54] <rue_house> the government is working on shutting down the 'make work' companies that just lose money
[00:04:08] <rue_house> which is where all this super cheap stuff is comming from
[00:04:29] <rue_house> its a hardware version of the .com crash
[00:04:50] <orlock> last things i bought from china were some cheap linux computers
[00:04:53] <orlock> ~$30 each
[00:05:00] <orlock> one 580Mh one 650Mhz
[00:05:10] <rue_house> I prettymuch get all my electronics stuff from china now
[00:05:14] <rue_house> verry few problems
[00:36:31] <rue_house> the internet stalled while I tried to install netperf
[00:36:35] <rue_house> SERIOUSLY?
[06:03:47] <Snert> don't break the internet.
[06:03:55] <Snert> that's not good.
[06:04:25] <Snert> last time I broke the internet the boss sent me home.
[06:04:26] <deshipu> we are using it
[06:05:06] <Snert> I break it all the time :)
[06:05:32] <SpeedEvil> I broke my ISPs email once.
[06:06:04] <SpeedEvil> I was posting to usenet, and had the idea of posting one email address per post, so I could track where spam came from, time to first spam, ...
[06:06:50] <SpeedEvil> Some years pass, and then a mortgage spammer decided to use a list for return addresses - only 100 per address. With 10000 posts.
[12:01:58] * raccoon eats rue's cats
[19:41:33] * rue_house harvests the ******* from raccoon and sells it on ebay.
[19:42:41] <raccoon> ?
[19:42:53] <rue_house> hmm, I want to buy things online
[19:43:04] <rue_house> this is a good time to get away from the computer
[19:43:37] <rue_house> I got my 1R resistors today tho!
[19:43:46] <rue_house> I dont know why I bought them :(
[19:43:54] <Snert_> what wattage?
[19:43:56] <rue_house> 1
[19:44:27] <Snert_> I gotta get some more big wire wounds.
[19:44:45] <Snert_> for pulling current to test ups batteries.
[19:45:02] <rue_house> use a big ass fet like I do
[19:45:12] <rue_house> with an op-amp to control the current
[19:45:13] <Snert_> it doesn't test every facet of the battery but it 4sure tells me if it's flat out bad.
[19:45:33] <rue_house> yea, they drop off pretty fast if they are shot
[19:45:41] <rue_house> look at the short circuit current
[19:45:52] <rue_house> (tap a wrench across the termianls)
[19:45:59] <Snert_> yea, a go/no indication late at night in the wiring closet is all I'm looking for.
[19:46:05] <rue_house> if it results in little bits of molten copper flying around, its good
[19:46:22] <rue_house> if it just sparks and warms up the wrench, its no good
[19:49:00] <rue_house> *sigh* and my phone system ups wont start up after I pulled out the battieries (which were fried)
[19:49:21] <rue_house> becca_KB1WRP, your a ham (congrads)
[19:50:15] <rue_house> I need to work out how to do current detection for an H bridge motor driver
[19:51:16] <rue_house> I want to use resistors on the bottom of each low side transistor, so I can do soft braking, but then the current sense gets trickey
[19:51:40] <rue_house> also, its pwm
[19:52:00] <rue_house> so, I need to work out how to read a sense resistor
