[01:48:35] <jason__> anonnumberanon, what hardware would you like them to talk about? The course is about cameras.
[13:27:30] <The_jesteR> This is a link for rue, Broken java pong game
[13:27:32] <The_jesteR> http://pastebin.com/irRW9RYz
[13:32:03] <The_jesteR> anyone alive out there
[13:32:40] <The_jesteR> im quite impressed i was able to break the whole program by adding a else..
[14:39:56] <VG234> Hello. I've found copy of an old book Mobile Robots Inspiration to Implementation. The book metions some lego part numbers. I can't seem to find them on the LEGO site. Has anyone run into this?
[14:56:27] <rue_house> its common for old robot books to use unobtainium
[14:56:38] <theBear> even when they were "current"
[14:56:59] <rue_house> fine point
[14:57:01] <theBear> also what are the lego parts ? i still got a good idea in most areas what is/isn't available
[14:58:01] <rue_house> does lego change around their part numbers?
[15:00:58] <rue_house> huh, I didn't know you could ad-hok a return structure in javascript
[15:01:12] <theBear> not so much that (last i was that up on lego p/ns) as stopping/starting various lines, usually the cooler stuff like pneumatic or their smaller rail/loco standard stuff or various obscure weird parts with some special bend or angle or whatever
[15:01:27] <theBear> define ad-hok and return structure
[15:01:55] <rue_house> return{
[15:01:56] <rue_house> x:mouseX,
[15:01:56] <rue_house> y:mouseY
[15:01:56] <rue_house> }
[15:02:06] <rue_house> on the fly, just made up a structure and returned it
[15:05:46] <theBear> damn i hate OO
[15:05:51] <theBear> and classes
[15:06:06] <theBear> that's my only comment for now
[15:06:36] <rue_house> I use C, but I do things object-like
[15:06:51] <rue_house> I pass around structures that have all the info in them I need worked on
[15:12:57] <theBear> you crazy trend-bucker !
[15:45:21] <rue_house> void entListInit(entityList_t * this) {
[15:45:21] <rue_house> this->content = NULL;
[15:45:21] <rue_house> this->count = 0;
[15:45:21] <rue_house> }
[15:45:24] <rue_house> its still C
[16:00:52] <VG234> Sorry, I got drawn away reading about alternative robotic kits. The Lego kits, it seems, re expensive. The specific kit is 9805 which I can't seems to look up. It's an alternative to just buying the parts.
[16:01:57] <VG234> true_house, I really like that word, "unobtainium".
[16:10:49] <VG234> The gear part 9853 seems to actually be a set. But for building Tutebot it's listed as a part.
[17:52:39] <Loshki> I think "unobtainium" is about as much fun as 'out-of-stock', but each to their own.
[19:33:33] <rue_shop3> places that carry unobtainium are always out of stock
[22:50:30] <Loshki> Yes, but they always have the lowest prices
[23:18:49] <flyback> flyback> well
[23:18:49] <flyback> <flyback> that nec 15 inch lcd I got for $20
[23:18:49] <flyback> <flyback> works perfect the only thing wrong is the 12v4a psu was missing
[23:18:49] <flyback> <flyback> easy fix :)
[23:19:18] <rue_house> you missed the fact its a 15"
[23:19:29] <flyback> uh I had 0 lcd's till recentely
[23:19:36] <flyback> except a old hp 17 inch work ga ve me yrs ago
[23:19:38] <flyback> all slashed up
[23:19:38] <rue_house> its being outsized by must apple cell phones
[23:19:39] <flyback> yellowed
[23:19:53] <rue_house> most
[23:19:56] <flyback> only lcd I had was 32 inch lcd forks got me for 40th bday 2 yrs ago
[23:20:01] <Jak_o_Shadows> I wonder, could I get that 17" LCD down to under 1.5 kg.
[23:20:03] <flyback> I got a nec 17 inch for $10
[23:20:09] <flyback> has 1 faint blue line down it
[23:20:14] <flyback> perfect for benchwork
[23:20:19] <flyback> beats vga to tv 10x over
[23:20:24] <rue_house> I have 5 on the deck that need new caps, I havnt' bothered
[23:20:33] <flyback> got a dell 17 inch for $15 worked so well i replaced that slashed 17 inch in my bedroom
[23:20:41] <flyback> and now this one I offered them $20 took a chance
[23:20:44] <Jak_o_Shadows> Because http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pro-Mic-Microphone-Suspension-Boom-Arm-Desktop-Stand-Holder-Mount-for-Broadcast-/271894544654?hash=item3f4e2d810e:g:RXcAAOSwpDdU4D25 supports 1.kg
[23:20:45] <rue_house> did you see that I turned a 17" into a lightbox by fixing it first?
[23:20:47] <flyback> yeah I got 4-5 aLSO
[23:20:51] <flyback> some of them have 12 inputs too
[23:20:53] <Jak_o_Shadows> 1.5kg*
[23:20:54] <flyback> analog etc so worth it
[23:21:01] <Jak_o_Shadows> and something like that would be perefect for the shed
[23:21:30] <flyback> I just realized since these 2 nec and a dell (needs recapped 15 inch) all take +12 input they would be good for a car pc
[23:21:36] <rue_house> Jak_o_Shadows, thats just a supid lamp with a microphone holder
[23:22:02] <rue_house> IF it were really for audio, there would be a rubber hose section around the middle of the springs
[23:22:29] <Jak_o_Shadows> Yeah, but I'd want to put a LCD screen on it anyway
[23:22:56] <rue_house> bigger springs
[23:23:48] <flyback> I just have to find out if any dos games used weird vga modes that a fixed res lcd might not do well
[23:24:04] <flyback> else the final crt except for 2 old tv's is getting kicked to the curb
[23:24:07] <rue_house> they are prolly 1024x768 monitors?
[23:24:12] <rue_house> not much works anymore
[23:24:42] <Jak_o_Shadows> Yeah, I know, bigger springs would do it
[23:26:03] <rue_house> geez, ali express is making it more and more interesting to prove I'm human
[23:26:16] <Jak_o_Shadows> TBH, I could probably do the calculations to figure out how strong the springs need to be
[23:26:54] <rue_house> before I know it, its going to start asking how I feel about my mother, and if I'd turn over a tutle on its back in the desert
[23:27:15] <rue_house> hint, take the strength of the tubes and tripple it
[23:29:43] <Jak_o_Shadows> haha
[23:29:55] <Jak_o_Shadows> well, you could do it like that
[23:30:21] <Jak_o_Shadows> I mean, sure, if you want to deprive yourself of the fun of free body diagrams
[23:31:43] <anonnumberanon> jason__, a robot that you must build and program and use the class knowledge with
[23:32:04] <anonnumberanon> shit just put some camera on 2 wheels or something
[23:32:18] <anonnumberanon> (if there are no kinematix)
[23:50:13] <Jak_o_Shadows> how feasible is it to extend the backlight power cables and contorl board power cabes on an lcd?
[23:53:17] <theBear> what lcd ?
[23:53:33] <anonnumberanon> i figure the guy means some computer screen
[23:53:45] <theBear> well, pretty feasible, at least if you mean inverter or led power lines, hv ccfl ones are err, touchy
[23:54:45] <Jak_o_Shadows> hmm. Dunno. It is a 2002 era lcd
[23:55:39] <Jak_o_Shadows> ccfl
[23:56:48] <Jak_o_Shadows> 710 Vrms
