01:17 rue_bed the 12' mecha, I took and squared my numbers and then doubled them, only came to like 4HP
01:18 rue_bed I have to work out low cost pressure sensors for the air mucsles
01:26 Jak_o_Shadows I've long thought that pneumatic muscles are the only feasible way
10:59 akem hey
11:03 robotustra hi
11:19 akem so i wonder about 3D printers why choosing regular over delta-type or vice versa
11:23 akem for a home 3D printer the delta looks appealling they print about the same size 15cc
11:27 deshipu jhylands: I was thinking about the recent buzz about pi zero and usb gadgets
11:28 deshipu jhylands: and it shouldn't take much work to make it behave like pyboard usb-wise, except with real python
11:29 robotustra akem: I loke deltas more
11:29 robotustra like
11:29 robotustra no trouble with setup
11:32 akem robotustra they look good also but controlling the positionning is a little bit more fancy, with the 3 rails though you dont usually have to deal with it, and yes setup looks easier/cleaner, you tried or you have one?
11:33 akem they are about the same price the one i saw
11:33 robotustra I built one from kit
11:33 robotustra I got the biggest one
11:34 robotustra Rostok max v2
11:34 akem cool, yea the Rostoks ones, sounds like a russian name
11:36 robotustra it's american kit from SeeMeCNC
11:37 robotustra http://www.seemecnc.com/
11:38 akem that printer looks good
11:46 akem roborustra you printed gears or mechanical parts stuff like this PLA/ABS?
12:17 slidercrank awesome videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFsMMToxxls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7l-87r4oOY
12:17 slidercrank butterflies: https://www.festo.com/group/en/cms/10216.htm
12:18 robotustra akem: yes
12:19 verak needs box for th
12:20 robotustra slidercrank: yes, but you'll not make them at home
12:20 robotustra slidercrank: of such size
12:20 slidercrank yes, unfortunately. at least not now
12:27 akem i wonder about Atmega328p internal DIE circuits just looking at wikipedia and official Atmel website its not totaly clear how open source they are, lots of documentation though.
12:54 SpeedEvil In general, ICs are never open-source. Ever.
12:54 SpeedEvil Documentaion on how to use them may be freely available.
14:38 rue_house yea, with all these guys making chips in their kitchens and garages it would destroy the market
17:40 rue_shop3 that was lucky
17:40 rue_shop3 the power ground lug solder joint failed on the nozzel heater, and the resulting backfeed of 12V against the signal gorunds didn't burn anythnig out
20:55 akem anon you aware the mg995 have the first gear made out of plastic?
20:55 akem the 3 other ones are made out of metal
20:57 akem they are fragiles 2 of them died out of 3 and they are getting burning hot quickly...anyway.
20:59 akem but the m90 looks cool anyway micro servos
20:59 akem so you wonder why the first gear is not metal like the other ones.
21:01 akem robotustra http://www.dx.com/p/geeetech-rostock-mini-g2s-pro-delta-3d-printer-blue-410788#.VoRsg4w1hVt
21:01 akem the one im interested in
21:03 akem with this one its possible to have one metal powder based conductive filament and print circuits inside/onto whatever printed thing
21:05 akem i think i should think about working on a killing animatronic mermaid for jaws 2016
23:10 robotusra_ too serious approach for simple task https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cod_SNq-d6c
23:12 Jak_o_Shadows I think slic3r and my 3d printer have a different origin for the robot arm.
23:13 Jak_o_Shadows for the bed*
23:14 Jak_o_Shadows robotustra, if all you've got is a bucketload of metal and a full machine shope
23:15 robotusra_ it's not mine :)
23:15 robotusra_ I just find a video
