01:56 e3Dmonster ain't a
01:56 The3Dmonster lol
01:59 The3Dmonster this channel does not have a lot of ops
03:26 mrdata who needs ops?
03:35 mrdata noobody
04:01 [cube] me!
04:23 mrdata naw
04:56 anonnumberano I'll ops.
05:19 veverak hmm
05:20 veverak want to the drill the hole in the wall
05:20 veverak but got no vacuum cleaner
05:20 veverak I wonder if I can figure out something else to prevent dust all around
05:21 deshipu veverak: old bottle
05:21 deshipu platic
05:21 deshipu plastic
05:22 veverak and way of usage is ?
05:22 deshipu cut off the bottom, put it against the wall, drill through it
05:23 veverak I see
05:24 deshipu I did that for drilling in the ceiling
05:24 deshipu so that I don't get dust in the eyes
05:24 verak wants to hang mirror on the
05:24 veverak heavy one...
05:25 deshipu veverak: paper cup works too
05:25 veverak I see
05:26 veverak hmm
05:26 veverak I have only 2cm "reserve" on the drill though
05:26 veverak P.S: I mean that drill have 10cm, and hole have to be around 8 cm
05:27 deshipu plastic cups compress :P
05:27 deshipu paper cups, I mean
05:28 deshipu just one warning -- don't get the idea of drilling through cloth
05:28 veverak :D
05:29 deshipu pain and suffering that way
05:39 veverak hmm
05:39 verak would like to try it on somet
06:02 SpeedEvil Drilling through cloth only works when everything is clamped to fuck
06:48 veverak deshipu: btw: dived more into ROS
06:48 veverak I feel like I need at leasy few years to get grip of everything
06:56 veverak FU
06:57 veverak that gazebos XML definition of robots looks scary
07:01 deshipu veverak: well, it's a large chunk of knowledge
07:01 deshipu veverak: people study robotics for years
07:01 veverak yeah
07:01 veverak but given that I learn best by usage
07:02 veverak I suppose I will soem more tutorials and try to start :)
07:46 veverak hmm
07:46 veverak ROS got arduino support
07:46 verak likes to hear
08:07 deshipu well, it has anything support
08:07 deshipu it's just serial data being exchanged
08:46 veverak yeah
08:46 veverak but there is code that allows arduino to act as ROS Node
08:47 veverak and another ndoe that just passes messages to it
08:47 veverak :)
08:49 darquill hello
08:52 deshipu hi darquill
09:00 darquill hi deshipu
09:01 deshipu darquill: reveal your robot!
09:02 deshipu (or any questions you may have)
09:04 darquill deshipu: I don't have any robots :( I've just always been curious about robotics, but never did anything
09:19 deshipu darquill: I see, do you plan to?
09:19 rue_house you should have built some
09:19 rue_house the more you build the more you know
09:34 darquill deshipu: right now I don't have enough free time to do it, but I could start with something when I'll eventually start working from home
09:34 rue_house no, there will never be time
09:35 rue_house you may start after you retire, but you wont have enough time to get anything done before you have a heart attack.
09:36 rue_house so just enjoy seeing what others have built
09:36 rue_house http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/mecha1/p1070519.jpg
09:36 rue_house even if it dosn't walk and talk and shoot at targets
09:40 darquill lol
09:41 rue_house sometimes its fun to take the functionality out of a project
09:41 rue_house makes it work easier
09:41 rue_house tho, while making that I learned its a lot closer to a practical design that I thought
09:41 rue_house have to be carefull to lean the weight forward quite a bit
09:46 darquill so what have you build rue_house, deshipu? :)
09:48 rue_house http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/robot_family2.jpg
09:49 rue_house http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/
09:49 rue_house http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/arm8/p1060649.jpg
09:49 rue_house and a bunch of arms
09:49 darquill nice :)
09:53 darquill rue_house: you 3d print yourself all the plastic parts?
10:28 verak never thought rue_house had such a big amount of
12:57 d3crypt anyone on here using vex with robot c/
12:57 d3crypt ?
12:59 deshipu no, what is vex?
12:59 anonnumberano d3crypt, you need help or something?
12:59 deshipu you mean those blocks made by hexbugs?
13:00 d3crypt I was wondering what the PIDControl setting does
13:01 deshipu https://www.hexbug.com/vex
13:03 d3crypt http://www.robotc.net/ the cortex one
13:16 anonnumberano d3crypt, your question is incorrect
13:17 d3crypt what do you mean?
13:19 anonnumberano You're asking about PIDControl and not showing us what it is or where it is. I'm assumming if it is a setting it must be some GUI thing (but which one?). It could also be some robotC function that you're looking at. By any means it's pretty impossible to help you with the provided information unless you give a full question with sources, link, etc.
13:19 anonnumberano Shower time.
13:19 anonnumberano bbl
15:37 anonnumberanon I want to probe 15 currents with one chip at 1.5A 5V is this possible?
15:39 Hyratel anonnumberanon, explain more
15:41 anonnumberanon id need to switch each signal into one current meter, but I don't really know if this would be possible with a switch or a multiplexer. Id probably want to switch all the signals within about 5 ms..
15:43 Hyratel you've not been clear what you're doing
15:45 anonnumberanon I want to log the current/power used by 16 servos during work intensive moves to change the moves so i use less power.
15:49 anonnumberanon Clear enough?
15:50 anonnumberanon Gosh I wish I had The Art of Electronics
15:53 SpeedEvil anonnumberanon: yes.
15:54 SpeedEvil anonnumberanon: make a board, which you put 15 servo connectors onto, and then onto each negative line put a .1 ohm or so resistor. Measure the voltage at teh end of the .1R resistor using a ADC from a micro with 16 ADC inputs
15:55 SpeedEvil you will need to read very fast and then average over many, many cycles.
15:58 Hyratel anonnumberanon, yes! that is a nicely clear description of what your target is
15:58 anonnumberanon Man yes I just read that. So I don't have to get a high power multiplexor.
15:59 Hyratel anonnumberanon, do you have an EDA suite?
15:59 Hyratel of choice*
16:00 anonnumberanon I am familiar with Multisim, having ran that at school for my degree.
16:02 anonnumberanon Would you recommend Ltspice instead?
16:02 Hyratel that's a sim, not an EDA
16:02 anonnumberanon ah i dont know eda
16:02 Hyratel grab Fritzing. it's simple but it should be enough for this purpose
16:11 anonnumberanon and a virtual machine of Windows...
19:06 rue_house anonnumberanon, ever seen my servo tutorial?
19:06 rue_house oh wait, I have been there
19:10 robotust1a evening
19:18 robotust1a who is alive in here?
19:18 SpeedEvil Nobody.
19:18 SpeedEvil We are all meat-sacks with the evolutionarily imposed impression of a self.
19:18 robotust1a except you?
19:18 SpeedEvil Life does not exist.
19:19 robotust1a thanks cap Obvious
19:19 rue_house i might be virtual
19:19 robotust1a hi rue
19:19 robotust1a how is your 256 motor driver?
19:20 e_house takes another toke... h
19:20 robotust1a or pneumatic muscles?
19:20 rue_house 256?
19:20 robotust1a 255?
19:20 rue_house havnt worked on the muscles
19:20 robotust1a for 1 year?
19:21 eedEvil was wondering about related - cheap way to do >100 40C heat-activated val
19:21 rue_house maybe, you got a problem with that?
19:21 robotust1a for what
19:21 robotust1a ?
19:22 SpeedEvil robotust1a: thermal clothing.
19:22 rue_house wax motors
19:22 SpeedEvil Valve that shuts when it hits 40C, pump air through
19:22 robotust1a rue_house: is it you are that guy who live close to Vancuver?
19:22 rue_house yes
19:22 SpeedEvil rue_house: yeah - that sort of thing, just I want a hundred tiny ones.
19:22 robotust1a so you know me?
19:23 rue_house I cant work out what you mean by 255 motors
19:23 rue_house hmm
19:23 rue_house vhs?
19:23 robotust1a you wanted to drive something a year ago or so
19:23 robotust1a wrote some code
19:23 rue_house in van?
19:23 rue_house for the mecha?
19:24 rue_house oh, the hexapod!?
19:24 robotust1a yes
19:24 robotust1a looks like you had amnesia since that time
19:24 rue_house I have amnesia ever day
19:24 robotust1a ok
19:24 rue_house its nothing compared to the number of projects Ihave going
19:25 robotust1a ok, share them
19:25 robotust1a show me
19:25 rue_house I started a digital wall clock 19 yeras ago
19:25 rue_house http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/wallclock/p1070512.jpg
19:25 rue_house its getting closer
19:25 SpeedEvil :)
19:26 rue_house I got distracted and built a mecha, its static tho
19:26 rue_house http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/mecha1/p1070519.jpg
19:26 SpeedEvil rue_house: I have some projects that stalled, and then I noticed someone had patented the idea I had.
19:26 robotust1a now you put down to ordinary clock?
19:26 SpeedEvil And the patent has now expired
19:27 robotust1a robochiken
19:27 rue_house its a digital wall clock
19:27 rue_house you still cant find good ones out there
19:27 robotust1a you can buy them
19:27 rue_house not like that
19:28 robotust1a what do you mean good ones?
19:28 rue_house 8" digits
19:28 rue_house led
19:28 robotust1a made of what?
19:28 rue_house anyhow
19:28 rue_house cnc foam, stained black, 1W leds
19:29 robotust1a http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-High-Digit-Outdoor-LED-Wall-Clock-LED-Countdown-Timer-Giant-LED-Digital-Timer-/330856040150?hash=item4d088e86d6:m:mUUtz6m-FPHSyI4AAmVSj2Q
19:29 rue_house there are 4" ones that are lcd
19:29 rue_house but 19 years ago event hat was unheard of
19:29 rue_house ick, I like mine better
19:29 robotust1a how long are you going to live?
19:30 robotust1a 100 years?
19:30 rue_house hahah $600!!!
19:30 rue_house depends if I can convert myself into a robot
19:30 robotust1a so you will spend on yours 599?
19:30 rue_house I'm not sure how to transfer a mind yet, but I'm getting closer
19:30 rue_house robotust1a, so far mine has cost under $10
19:31 robotust1a made from grabage?
19:31 rue_house .... did you see the pic?
19:31 robotust1a I saw yes
19:31 rue_house well whatever, its a going project
19:32 robotust1a usually ppl do a small clock + project the light to the wall
19:32 rue_house and I need to make a new firebox for the boiler, but I havn't started it yet
19:32 rue_house I'm kinda trying to stick to 3 or 4 active projects at once
19:32 rue_house stay down to
19:33 rue_house there is the bench power supply
19:33 robotust1a I continue to work on mu robot too
19:33 robotust1a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POSKD3lSD8E
19:34 rue_house https://hackaday.io/project/296-bench-power-supply
19:34 robotust1a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om_hhY21Tbg
19:34 rue_house ah well done
19:35 rue_house what are you using for motion tracking?
19:35 robotust1a pwm + active filter?
19:35 rue_house or are you
19:36 rue_house robotust1a, with a proper regulator
19:36 robotust1a optical sensor + 4 hall elements per eye
19:36 rue_house no freaking microcontroller loop regulation
19:36 robotust1a yeah simbpe DAC
19:36 robotust1a I know this schematic
19:37 robotust1a PWM - OPAMP - Voltage regulator
19:37 rue_house yes and no, current limiting and op-amp feedback
19:37 rue_house no
19:37 robotust1a ok
19:38 robotust1a I just don't understand why you do not use standard parts?
19:38 rue_house microcontroller -> dac ->[regulator] [regulator = error amp, current limiting, pwm genorator, pwm driver, filter, current detector
19:38 rue_house none of them work properly
19:39 rue_house when you get down to it, they have a stupid limitation somewhere
19:39 robotust1a what is the params of you power supply?
19:40 robotust1a my robot will be on wheels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTTV3OHJAmU
19:40 rue_house 30V 5A 2 channel, usb monitor/control, front panel monitor/control, current limiting from 10mA to 5A, analog guages on panel
19:41 rue_house did you print the pullies?
19:41 robotust1a with encoders?
19:41 robotust1a ys
19:41 eedEvil thinks of rue_house and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nuk3PhJzez0
19:41 robotust1a yes
19:42 robotust1a
http://i.imgur.com/eRvMYhN.jpg
19:42 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/Rkbuxti.jpg
19:43 robotust1a my wabble drive inside http://i.imgur.com/GbzoJjB.jpg
19:43 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/akaebS5.jpg
19:44 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/79BTHVI.jpg
19:44 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/TCWhsx1.jpg
19:44 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/mqnAdpb.jpg
19:45 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/g0c9y1k.jpg holders for axii
19:45 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/0rYZpvU.jpg
19:46 robotust1a I usually use standard DC-DC
19:46 robotust1a step down voltage regs
19:47 rue_house treid it, they use the - rail for current feedback, so they blow up if you cross the loads
19:48 SpeedEvil never cross the loads.
19:49 robotust1a me too never crossed
19:49 robotust1a also never shorted lipo terminals
19:51 robotust1a rue_house: as soon as I understand - you do all your projects from the heap of garbage and have no source of money?
19:53 rue_house actaully, I design things around the chips and methods I see int eh stuff I take apart, lots of good ideas, not for you of course, but really solid deisgn stuff for thigns that can last a good 20 years. my stuff usually dosn't break the $40 mark and I do LOTS of projects, even if I dont finish them all I learn a lot making them. I dont end up with much time, so my projects go slow, but tend to be well thought out
19:53 rue_house ABS or PVC?
19:53 rue_house er, PLA?
19:54 robotust1a pla
19:54 rue_house hmmm I have yet to try abs
19:54 rue_house I'm now told I dont need a heated bed
19:54 robotust1a I use heated bed
19:54 robotust1a at 60 degree
19:55 rue_house I broke the glass on mine trying to get it up to 200c :)
19:55 robotust1a stick better and no warping
19:55 robotust1a for what?
19:55 robotust1a nylon?
19:55 rue_house I was having fun
19:55 rue_house its ok, the power supply popped just a little after the glass broke
19:56 rue_house so I'm back to a tape bed
19:56 robotust1a hehe
19:56 rue_house I havn't printed anything in a while
19:57 robotust1a I use only white plastic
19:58 robotust1a I printed the robot torso with ABS and I don't like it
19:58 rue_house did you design the harmonic?
19:58 robotust1a it's cracky
19:58 robotust1a yes
19:58 [cube] for 'cold bed' prints apparently elmer's purple gluestick works amazingly (with PLA only)
19:58 robotust1a acrually it's cycloidal drive
19:58 rue_house was it hard to get them both to clear properly?
19:58 rue_house yea sorry
19:58 [cube] for ABS neat to heat up to 60-80
19:58 [cube] *need
19:59 robotust1a I heated bed to 90 for ABS
19:59 rue_house I got to about 150
19:59 robotust1a hot end is usually 226-228
20:00 robotust1a for ABS
20:00 robotust1a 213-216 for PLA
20:00 [cube] yea i print at around 230
20:00 [cube] 240 if im going fast
20:00 [cube] just ordered some 'printbite'
20:00 [cube] which is supposed to be amazing
20:00 [cube] and eliminate need for tape, hairpspray, absglue, etc
20:01 [cube] we'll see...
20:01 robotust1a I printed a bungh of gears for wabble drive to try
20:01 rue_house is the hand ABS?
20:01 [cube] yeah i saw
20:01 [cube] looks good dude
20:01 robotust1a I didn't post it yet :)
20:01 [cube] oh
20:01 robotust1a I mean test gears
20:01 [cube] thought those imgur pics had gears in them
20:01 [cube] oh ok
20:01 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/qLU0frh.jpg
20:02 [cube] looks great
20:02 robotust1a this were test gears for prototupe
20:02 [cube] whats you rnozzle size? .4?
20:02 robotust1a 0.5
20:02 [cube] ah
20:02 rue_house sorta looks more like a sine wav than a gear
20:02 robotust1a too big
20:02 [cube] yea i use a .3
20:02 [cube] about to install a .5 next to it for infill
20:02 rue_house I did great witha .7 nozzel
20:02 [cube] speed up my prints
20:02 [cube] perimeters might use a .2 :P
20:03 rue_house went back to .4, dont remmeber why
20:03 robotust1a when I printed pulleys I would like to have 0.35 but I don't have one
20:03 [cube] yea
20:03 robotust1a http://i.imgur.com/HOfAO00.jpg
20:04 [cube] not bad
20:04 robotust1a this one was first, but PLA was not so good
20:04 [cube] what CAD software do you use?
20:04 robotust1a t-flex
20:04 robotust1a nobody knows this cad
20:04 [cube] yeah i dont :P
20:04 [cube] i use solidworks
20:04 robotust1a google it
20:04 [cube] looking for a good gear generator
20:05 rue_house changed topic of #robotics to: Arduino controlled, 3d printed psycho robots! | http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/index.php | project updates at 2am GMT! | C is for Cyber
20:05 robotust1a I draw 1 tooth and do circular array
20:05 rue_house I know a good gear genorator
20:05 [cube] i found one on thingiverse
20:05 [cube] havent tried it yet tho
20:06 [cube] rue_house: do y ou know of one that generates 2D vector dxf profiles?
20:06 robotust1a I started from this one but did holes after http://i.imgur.com/9pmgvE7.png
20:06 [cube] looks like blender
20:06 rue_house http://hessmer.org/gears/InvoluteSpurGearBuilder.html
20:07 [cube] hah
20:07 [cube] neat
20:07 [cube] thanks rue_house!
20:07 robotust1a it's meshlab
20:07 robotust1a just to look at stl
20:07 [cube] ah
20:07 rue_house I used it to make myself a standard library of gears
20:07 [cube] yes ok
20:07 [cube] nice
20:07 [cube] i need to make a spur/pinion for Gt2 belt
20:08 [cube] to rotate a camera (yaw)
20:08 robotust1a oh
20:08 [cube] hmm
20:08 [cube] actually nvm
20:08 [cube] i dont think i even need a belt
20:08 robotust1a I used to print gt2 pulley
20:08 rue_house it wont go down to much less than 5 teeth
20:08 [cube] (building as i go here)
20:08 [cube] dont really have a plan
20:08 robotust1a from 5th attempt
20:08 robotust1a google the sizes
20:09 [cube] yeah i have them
20:09 [cube] might actually do bigger teeth
20:09 [cube] if i just directly connect the pinion to a large spur
20:09 [cube] spur would effecitvely be the camera holder
20:10 robotust1a that's why I went to bigger step
20:10 rue_house http://www.aliexpress.com/item/75PCS-a-lot-Plastic-gear-rack-pulley-belt-Worm-gear-Single-and-double-gear-8-56/1139721571.html
20:11 robotust1a is it your standard set of gears?
20:11 rue_house http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Crabs-Kingdom-DIY-model-gearboxes-plastic-motor-gear-package-69-kinds-2-pack-lot-robot-accessories/1796876854.html
20:11 rue_house no
20:11 rue_house its out there
20:12 rue_house you might like to know
20:12 robotust1a they are too small for my needs
20:12 rue_house what about cube
20:12 [cube] i have a set lik ethat
20:13 [cube] they're really dinky
20:13 [cube] imght as well print thick beefy gears
20:13 rue_house k, depends what your making
20:13 [cube] yeah
20:13 [cube] im making a camera slider
20:13 [cube] with 3 movements
20:13 rue_house must be an old camera if it weighs 20lbs
20:13 [cube] lateral, yaw rotation, and camera lens focus
20:14 [cube] just a DSLR
20:14 robotust1a I'm making 1.5 meter tall robots on wheels
20:14 [cube] hehe
20:14 [cube] nice
20:14 rue_house so those gears are find
20:14 [cube] they might work
20:15 [cube] i'd rather design to spec
20:15 [cube] so the stepper can sit ina nice little holder
20:15 [cube] and pinion attached directly to it
20:15 robotust1a my robot design http://i.imgur.com/EWVKsHv.jpg
20:15 [cube] hehe nice
20:16 [cube] this is my slider so far
20:16 [cube] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iE2HCYSJKU
20:16 robotust1a previous design was http://i.imgur.com/AEKGfo2.jpg
20:17 [cube] looks cool dude
20:17 robotust1a to make timelaps?
20:17 [cube] ya
20:17 [cube] and video clips hopefully
20:17 [cube] so it will never move too fast
20:17 robotust1a nice
20:18 robotust1a https://vimeo.com/35075349
20:19 [cube] this urs?
20:19 robotust1a timelaps of the city
20:19 [cube] ya this is a really good vid
20:19 [cube] good production value
20:20 [cube] nice city :P
20:20 robotust1a it is
20:20 robotust1a dictator keep it nice
20:20 [cube] i have a friend from there
20:21 robotust1a me?
20:21 [cube] lol
20:21 [cube] ur #2
20:21 robotust1a ok
20:21 [cube] this is my proof of concept
20:21 [cube] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MaA4knUmlI
20:23 robotust1a this timelaps from one point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev6wrgSKYwc
20:24 [cube] lol
20:24 [cube] they look like little toy people
20:24 [cube] ina bathtub :P
20:24 [cube] oh wtf
20:24 [cube] haha
20:25 robotust1a yeah
20:26 [cube] robotust1a: what is your printer?
20:27 robotust1a rostock max v2
20:27 robotust1a delta
20:28 [cube] ah nice
20:30 robotust1a and what printer have you?
20:31 [cube] it is just a reprap mendel that i built
20:32 [cube] it prints but i am re-wriring it right now
20:32 [cube] http://i.imgur.com/G33f0mg.jpg
20:33 robotust1a oh, 3d printing mainframe
20:33 [cube] hehe
20:33 [cube] it is just the enclosure
20:33 [cube] the idea is if i want to upgrade printer, i can just stick a new on inside
20:33 [cube] and keep the enclosure
20:34 robotust1a kura?
20:34 [cube] ?
20:35 robotust1a I mean slicer
20:35 robotust1a cura?
20:35 [cube] i use cura someitmes
20:35 [cube] mainly Slic3r
20:35 robotust1a oh, ok
20:35 [cube] sometimes when i export a model in solidworks
20:35 [cube] it is upside down or something
20:35 robotust1a I also use repetier
20:35 [cube] so i use cura just to flip it over :PO
20:36 [cube] yeah i might experiment with some other programs
20:36 robotust1a hm, I can draw correctly from the very beginning in my cad
20:36 [cube] when i install 2nd extruder
20:36 [cube] i can too...
20:36 [cube] sometimes im just lazy and make a part quick
20:36 [cube] and choose whichever plane i click on as the first plane
20:36 [cube] whichever is more convenient
20:37 [cube] soemtimes it is easier to design a part upside down or something
20:37 robotust1a are you in us
20:37 robotust1a ?
20:37 [cube] canada
20:37 robotust1a orly?
20:37 [cube] yes
20:37 robotust1a what city?
20:37 [cube] ottawa
20:37 robotust1a I'm in montreal
20:37 [cube] hah nice
20:38 [cube] my sister lives there
20:38 [cube] i go sometimes for work
20:38 robotust1a i prefer work in one place
20:38 robotust1a to work
20:38 [cube] i work at home
20:38 [cube] but sometimes im needed for meetings
20:38 robotust1a freelance?
20:38 [cube] yes
20:39 robotust1a designer?
20:39 [cube] yea mostly
20:39 [cube] what about u?
20:39 [cube] still in school?
20:40 robotust1a I'm embedded programmer
20:41 robotust1a at big company
20:41 [cube] ah cool
20:41 robotust1a doing RF amps
20:41 [cube] neat
20:42 robotust1a I'm old, have kids and wife
20:42 robotust1a so I'm too lazy to move somewhere
20:42 [cube] ah hehe
20:43 robotust1a but fun is better than work, so I'm doing robots
20:43 [cube] yes
20:43 [cube] im going to build one soon ;)
20:44 robotust1a so you'd almost dome a cnc machine
20:44 robotust1a done*
20:44 robotust1a ir cnc controlled machine
20:44 robotust1a I also did one
20:45 [cube] yeah i want to build a router too
20:45 [cube] for milling wood
20:45 [cube] maybe this winter
20:45 robotust1a I did one on a kitchen table with a file
20:45 [cube] hehe
20:45 [cube] nice
20:46 robotust1a it took me like 4 months
20:46 [cube] i will proably use nice plywood
20:46 [cube] baltic birch
20:46 [cube] better than MDF i think
20:46 robotust1a what are you going to mill there?
20:46 [cube] not sure yet....
20:46 [cube] i like to build furniture and outdoor stuff
20:46 [cube] for fun
20:46 [cube] maybe i'll have a side business :P
20:46 robotust1a first decide what are you going to mill
20:47 robotust1a after select the material to build
20:47 [cube] oh I'll be milling wood mainly
20:47 [cube] MAYBE aluminum....
20:47 [cube] but probably not specifically
20:47 robotust1a on a wooden cnc?
20:47 [cube] so i will over build for wood
20:47 robotust1a are you kidding me?
20:47 [cube] :P
20:47 [cube] i'd go slow!
20:47 [cube] lol
20:48 robotust1a http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/maholet/24765393/17688/17688_600.jpg
20:48 robotust1a this is mine
20:48 [cube] i would maily do wood
20:48 [cube] and 'test' on aluminum, see what happens
20:48 [cube] looks nice
20:49 robotust1a http://maholet.livejournal.com/30530.html
20:49 [cube] ah yes i would liek to make pcbs too
20:49 [cube] not bad
20:50 [cube] did you make from a kit or from scratch?
20:50 robotust1a I did this on mine http://maholet.livejournal.com/29943.html
20:50 robotust1a I did it from scratch
20:50 [cube] ha
20:50 [cube] neat
20:50 [cube] nice little gears
20:51 [cube] lol @ bender cake
20:51 robotust1a http://maholet.livejournal.com/20471.html
20:52 [cube] geez
20:52 [cube] lots of work
20:52 [cube] impressive
20:52 robotust1a yeah, I told you 4 month, mainly weekends
20:52 [cube] waht was cost?
20:52 [cube] approx
20:53 [cube] i am guessing the aluminum frame metal was expensive
20:53 robotust1a in total is about 1200-1400
20:53 [cube] not too bad
20:53 robotust1a it's not so much aluminum there
20:53 [cube] plywood can be strong you know.... :P
20:53 robotust1a 20 kg
20:53 robotust1a forget about plywood
20:54 robotust1a I can mill with about 0.02 mm precision
20:54 robotust1a on plywood you'll have about 0.2 mm
20:54 [cube] yeah that is impressive
20:55 [cube] i have a manual milling machine
20:55 robotust1a http://maholet.livejournal.com/30112.html like this
20:55 [cube] so i could make it metal, no excuses i guess
20:56 robotust1a you SHOULD make it metal
20:56 [cube] yeah
20:56 [cube] very nice gimbal
20:56 robotust1a next mill I'll make in iron
20:56 [cube] hehe
20:56 [cube] cast it!
20:56 robotust1a no need to cast
20:56 [cube] iron plates?
20:57 robotust1a or just buy one
20:57 [cube] yea
20:57 robotust1a iron square pipes
20:57 robotust1a I don't know what it for
20:57 [cube] large plasma cutter
20:57 robotust1a I have this one whis could cover 99.9% of all my needs
20:57 [cube] would be fun
20:58 robotust1a it's not precise
20:58 [cube] you could cut out complex 2d shapes
20:58 [cube] and bend them
20:58 robotust1a and not in the appartment
20:58 [cube] ah
20:58 robotust1a my mill work in the appartment
20:58 [cube] ell say your robot needed a metal enclosure for a knee
20:58 [cube] (or anything)
20:59 robotust1a my robot will be plastic mainly
20:59 robotust1a PLA
20:59 [cube] what is purpose of the robot?
20:59 robotust1a polycarbonate
20:59 robotust1a household robot
20:59 [cube] what will it do?
20:59 robotust1a keep order in the appartment
20:59 robotust1a make order
21:00 robotust1a put stuf on the place
21:00 robotust1a possible clean appartment
21:00 robotust1a reheat food
21:00 robotust1a bring food
21:00 robotust1a execute voice orders
21:00 robotust1a etc
21:01 [cube] hehe
21:01 robotust1a like intelligent house
21:01 [cube] nice
21:01 [cube] like the little guy in chappie :P
21:01 [cube] who fetches redbulls
21:01 robotust1a did you see "Robot and Franc?"
21:01 [cube] dont think so
21:02 robotust1a http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1990314/
21:02 robotust1a do you know robor justin?
21:03 [cube] hah looks good
21:03 [cube] i willg et it
21:03 [cube] i do not
21:03 robotust1a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6pPwP3s7s4
21:04 robotust1a this one is too good
21:04 [cube] looking
21:04 robotust1a I want to make functional analog but within $5000
21:04 [cube] neat
21:04 [cube] similar to the one by disney?
21:05 [cube] imagineers robot or something
21:05 [cube] this one looks very complex
21:05 robotust1a it is
21:05 [cube] i might ask your suggestions
21:05 robotust1a I wont to put even more dexterity in arms
21:05 [cube] nice
21:05 robotust1a like 30 DOF per arm
21:06 [cube] i want to make a head tracking robot, where the eyes move and also track
21:06 [cube] powered by RPI
21:06 robotust1a servo motors?
21:06 [cube] with face tracking
21:06 [cube] yeah servos
21:06 [cube] the mechanics will be easy
21:06 robotust1a what is the final idea?
21:06 [cube] just a head that follows you for display
21:06 [cube] for fun
21:07 [cube] animatronic
21:07 robotust1a ok
21:07 robotust1a what software?
21:07 robotust1a OpenCV?
21:07 [cube] yes
21:07 robotust1a did you try it before?
21:07 [cube] i saw a demo once
21:07 [cube] running off a laptop
21:07 [cube] it was very...
21:07 [cube] 'steppy'
21:08 [cube] and laggy
21:08 [cube] i hope i can do it smoother
21:08 robotust1a what frequency do you need?
21:08 [cube] im not sure
21:08 robotust1a of loop control?
21:08 robotust1a 25 Hz should be enough
21:08 [cube] i will probably use an arduino
21:09 robotust1a first, You will have lag from camera
21:09 [cube] yeah
21:09 robotust1a I have about 0.2s from mines
21:09 robotust1a but it's ok
21:09 [cube] i was even thinking...
21:09 [cube] about using an array of PID sensors
21:09 [cube] but i think that would be worse
21:10 robotust1a it depends
21:10 robotust1a btw, there is a PI camera
21:10 [cube] yes i have it
21:10 [cube] also a touch screen
21:10 robotust1a it should be fast enouph
21:11 [cube] okay
21:11 robotust1a I use too complex system
21:11 [cube] let me fool around with it, i will let you know if i have any questions!
21:11 robotust1a ok
21:11 [cube] got to run for a bit
21:11 [cube] nice to chat with u dude
21:11 robotust1a me too,
21:12 robotust1a could find me in #belarus
21:12 [cube] hehe ok
21:12 robotust1a or here
21:12 robotust1a this channel is mainly dead
21:13 [cube] yeah, i just lurk in it
21:14 [cube] btw seen tomorrowland?
21:14 [cube] i just watched it, its great
21:14 robotust1a 1 sec
21:15 robotust1a no, didn't see that
21:15 robotust1a I was watching scifi shows mainly
21:15 [cube] ah
21:15 [cube] check it out
21:15 robotust1a like dollhaus
21:15 robotust1a fringe
21:16 robotust1a doctor who
21:16 robotust1a firefly
21:16 robotust1a the person of interest
21:16 robotust1a almost human
21:16 robotust1a etc
21:16 robotust1a breaking bad
21:18 [cube] ah
21:18 [cube] what about Big Hero 6? :P
21:19 robotust1a my kids are watching that
21:19 [cube] hehe
21:19 [cube] its good too
21:19 robotust1a many many cartoons
21:19 robotust1a yeah
21:20 robotust1a I like scifi, but there are not so much films
21:20 [cube] sure there are dude!

22:02 rue_house yea I need to work out a wiever
22:03 robotust1a organize one?
22:04 rue_house I have kids come to the shop on weekends and do robotics, but I need a wiever
22:05 rue_house I need more time
22:05 rue_house I need more rest
22:05 robotust1a who is wiever?
22:05 robotust1a viewer?
22:05 rue_house work it out , I'm in a bad mood
22:06 robotust1a waiver
22:07 robotust1a in case they cut off the head with electrical knife
22:11 robotust1a canadian are so canadian
22:11 robotust1a write silly documents
