02:45 deshipu rule 34 at work
06:40 _squll Hey :-)
06:44 Squll I am currently exploring the internet in search of a robot (which may be used with ROS) that has a nice cute look, not a trashy robot which is not that nice. Anyone who knows a nice one?
06:49 deshipu wow, whole 2 minutes of attention
06:49 deshipu kids these days
16:33 rue_school well
16:33 rue_school channel is getting pretty quiet
16:33 rue_school I'm making a 3d printed wheeled robot, fixing a thingverse gripper, whats the rest of ya up to
16:34 e_school sets the time clock to see how long a responce t
16:39 idercrank leaves a comm
16:39 slidercrank rue_house, do you have a picture of the robot you're building?
16:40 rue_school no
16:40 rue_school :)
16:40 rue_school but somewhere I have peices of 3d renderings of it...
16:40 rue_school I'v not taken a pic yet
16:40 rue_school I dont think
16:41 slidercrank is it your design? or did you get it from somewhere?
16:41 rue_school I'm away from home, so I have to do modeling till I get back
16:41 rue_school its all new design, but its generally like a sumo robot with a caster
16:41 rue_school have a 3d printer?
16:41 rue_school or access to..
16:42 slidercrank no, I don't
16:42 rue_school hmm
16:43 rue_school I bet there are a few within a 10 mile radius of you
16:43 rue_school unless you live on a farm 20 miles acoss
16:43 rue_school then I wouldn't bet that
16:43 slidercrank I'm sure there are :)
16:44 rue_school best start going door to door :)
16:44 rue_school he
16:44 slidercrank I even touched one. But it was cheap and shitty
16:44 rue_school h
16:44 rue_school awe
16:44 rue_school mine was only $300, with plastic
16:44 rue_school but thats cause I did it myself
16:45 slidercrank The one I saw was for about $1500
16:45 slidercrank but it was already assembled. And hence the price, I think
16:46 rue_school arg, the pics of my reprap are completely out of date
16:46 slidercrank and it took aeons for the printer to print something!
16:47 slidercrank so the only use for it is to print something thin, like plates. unless you want to wait for a month :)
16:47 rue_school depends how large the object is, if you go too fast, the plastic dosn't bind to the underlying layers
16:47 rue_school the rate it can move is NOT the limit of the print speed
16:48 rue_school mine can move way faster than i can print
16:48 rue_school because of the binding thing
16:48 rue_school http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/reprap/slide.htm
16:48 rue_school there is the jist of my machine, lots of changes at the end to make it work well
16:49 rue_school I'll have to remmeber to add the final pics
