04:29 veverak can be webcam hacked
04:29 veverak to decrease it's zoom ?
04:31 Jak_o_Shadows I wouldn't have thought most webcams had zoom elements
04:31 Jak_o_Shadows like lenses and such
04:32 veverak well, it's just that I have this webcam, and it has to be too far away to catch all I need
04:40 deshipu sure, you can move the lens
04:40 deshipu or replace with a different lens
04:40 veverak I see
04:40 deshipu veverak: you can buy a fisheye addon lens
04:41 deshipu http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1-pcs-Hot-Jelly-fisheye-lens-Wide-Angle-Cell-Phone-Digital-Lomo-Camera-for-iPhone-for/32355150436.html
04:42 deshipu lots of those lenses for the phones
04:42 deshipu http://www.aliexpress.com/category/200003189/mobile-phone-lenses.html
04:43 veverak http://img2.czc.cz/421a7cqvd2hj196dd0n8jkq8ee_7/obrazek got this
04:43 veverak deshipu: awesome tip, thanks a lot!
04:44 Jak_o_Shadows a fish eye lens would be coolo
04:44 Jak_o_Shadows I dream of a projector that can project a huge arc
04:44 veverak http://webcam.veverak.org/stream_simple.html
04:44 veverak also
04:45 deshipu I have one of those as swag from a conference
04:45 veverak I need to conenct the webcam into homeserver and run mjpgstreamer there
04:45 veverak so I can use the fullhd ..
04:45 deshipu I neeed to put it on one of my robots
04:45 deshipu I'm still waiting for my pcbs and laser-cut stuff
09:34 blockh34d veverak: the fisheye lens from door peepeholes has worked well for me in the past, to increase the range a camera displays (quite a lot actually)
10:40 veverak thanks for tips!
10:40 veverak :)
11:02 blockh34d i'm attaching a camera to my rifles scope soon
11:02 blockh34d that should be neat
11:02 blockh34d i'm going to make a full auto paintball turrent that can paint pictures
11:02 blockh34d well fullauto if thats legal
11:03 blockh34d i think so with paintball guns
11:06 deshipu make it look like in Aliens
11:26 blockh34d i thought i'd make it shoulder mounted
11:26 blockh34d so it looks like war machine
11:26 blockh34d except i'll be WarHOL Machine
11:26 blockh34d and i'll paint monroe prints in weird paintball colors
11:28 blockh34d i made a tilt based mouse controller out of a 9axis gyro/accel/etc
11:28 blockh34d i could use that to control the gun's orientation, maybe put it on a helmet
11:29 deshipu soo, more like predator
11:29 blockh34d yah i suppose so
11:29 blockh34d i actually ahve other predator like stuff i want to implement
11:29 deshipu add autodestruct too, for accuracy
11:29 blockh34d a sorta shitty version of the active camo
11:29 blockh34d i think i could do someting like the camo
11:29 blockh34d i'd need a comprehensive 3d model of the environment
11:30 deshipu if you can do the camo, the army wants to speak with you
11:30 blockh34d also exact posture information of the suit wearer
11:30 blockh34d thats why i'm working on this so much, i'm pretty sure it will work and i can do it
11:30 blockh34d and if so... money
11:30 deshipu you can get the image of surroundings by photographing a mirror ball
11:30 blockh34d anyways, render the scene to a texture that is projection mapped onto a model of the suit wearer
11:31 blockh34d with the pixels of the render mapped to whatever led is closest
11:31 deshipu I know a guy who does that for adding mirror-surface renderings into movies
11:31 blockh34d oh that's a neat idea!
11:31 blockh34d thanks i like the sound of that
11:31 blockh34d i've bene using kinect for 3d scanning
11:31 blockh34d its ok i guess, for certain environments
11:31 blockh34d want to see a sample?
11:31 blockh34d i posted a render to youtube
11:31 deshipu sure
11:31 blockh34d k will get link off other computer sec
11:32 blockh34d this should be it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdlJSFN27q0
11:32 blockh34d the texture quality will be a lot better when i stop using the kinect's camera and use a proper HD cam source
11:33 blockh34d so it might help to have mapping drones that can do some recon preassault
11:33 blockh34d scan in the environment so all suits have it available for local rendering
11:34 blockh34d also to track the target so the render viewpoints can be adjusted as they move around
11:34 blockh34d hypothetically, cooling/heat venting systems could be implemented to make it partially active thermal as well
11:34 blockh34d if the power is available anyways, talking one helluva battery at this point but for tyhe moment i'm fine with a tether
11:35 blockh34d proof of concept etc
12:04 veverak this looks awesome
12:04 veverak much better than I expected from kinect :D
12:09 blockh34d veverak: oh thanks, yeah i had to clean it up a little in meshlab to get it nice
12:10 blockh34d also i plugged in my kinect to a car battery
12:10 blockh34d which worked well until the battery got low and then it killed the kinect
12:10 blockh34d luckily i have 8 more
12:10 veverak old kinect or new one?
12:10 blockh34d old
12:10 veverak 8 kinectS? :D
12:10 blockh34d i wish i had a new one to blow up
12:10 blockh34d yeah i get them in bulk at local pawn shop
12:10 blockh34d they dunno wtf to do with them
12:11 blockh34d i scan in stuff and use it in my gamedev
12:11 veverak nah
12:11 veverak had to start visiting that ones
12:11 blockh34d yah theres some deals there sometimes
12:11 blockh34d i just got a nice dremel kit, genuine dremel with the flex shaft and all the bits, 40 bucks
12:11 blockh34d thats not exactly dirt cheap but it was like new and thats at least half price from lowes
12:12 blockh34d also they'll take stuff in trade so sometimes you dont even really spend anything you just unload some old stuff on them
12:45 blockh34d here's what i did with that dremel http://s7.postimg.org/nb0m3oepn/cnc_partial_1.jpg
13:01 veverak fu this
13:01 veverak it seems liek fans I've got are too weak to push air from the base of the printer near the nozzle to cool the thing
13:01 veverak nah
13:05 blockh34d veverak: yeah i usually see people mount the fan directly on the nozzle
13:05 blockh34d theres lots of models on thingiverse for this
13:05 veverak yeah but I don't want that system :D
13:05 blockh34d oh ok
13:05 verak wanted to play with the variant that fan is not t
13:06 blockh34d ah that sounds tricky, good luck
13:06 veverak yeah, but want to be able to make it work
13:06 veverak also because you can mount the fan somewhere else, you can make it bigger and mounted to something that is really stiif
13:06 veverak so reducing it's noise
13:07 blockh34d did you ask in #reprap?
13:07 veverak not yet
13:07 blockh34d they seem to have all this stuff figured out
13:07 veverak not really
13:07 veverak most of them use the fan mounted near the nozzle
13:07 blockh34d they think they do
13:07 blockh34d lol
13:07 veverak also true :D
13:07 blockh34d yeah i do that
13:07 blockh34d works for me
13:08 veverak blockh34d: this is version 1.
13:08 blockh34d did you see my pics?
13:08 blockh34d thats the cnc so fra
13:08 veverak version 2. is cooling nozzle like this
13:08 veverak blockh34d: show me :)
13:08 blockh34d i've been printing that the last two weeks lol
13:08 blockh34d http://s7.postimg.org/nb0m3oepn/cnc_partial_1.jpg
13:09 blockh34d http://s7.postimg.org/g92ohhb3v/cnc_partial_2.jpg
13:09 blockh34d will be larger frame soon
13:09 blockh34d just working on it with tiny frame to keep it easy to flip around and stuf
13:09 veverak I usually laugh at 3d printed cnc frames
13:09 blockh34d i hope to be able to mill pcb's with that
13:09 veverak mainly because I studied how to build one and got the idea
13:09 blockh34d oh yeah its kinda lego-ish looking
13:09 veverak but yours look quite nice
13:10 veverak :)
13:10 blockh34d oh thanks :)
13:10 blockh34d yeah i'm adding another layer soon to make the whole things more of a cube
13:10 blockh34d i think that will help reinforce it
13:10 veverak for me it seems the parts are still too thick to work properly
13:10 veverak but nah, it's easy to redo if you have proper rods like you
13:10 veverak :D
13:10 blockh34d yeah its a learning adventure
13:10 veverak you know
13:10 blockh34d haha not really proper rods
13:10 blockh34d thats conduit, hollow tubing
13:10 veverak there exists machines
13:11 veverak the weight tons for puprose
13:11 blockh34d $3 for 10 feet
13:11 veverak and got working area 40x40x40cm
13:11 blockh34d haha yah
13:11 blockh34d thats one thing this has going for it
13:11 veverak because that's only way to make something precise
13:11 blockh34d it can actually get kinda big
13:11 blockh34d yah i believe it
13:11 veverak kind of funny when you see 3d printed CNC ...
13:11 veverak :D
13:11 blockh34d mine is going to be to sloppy it'll only be goo dfor some things
13:11 blockh34d basically art purposes
13:11 veverak yeah, than it makes sense
13:11 blockh34d like making foam signs and stuff
13:11 blockh34d but i hope to mill a littl epcb too
13:12 blockh34d and if thats a little out of true, not quite exactly 90 degrees etc... honestly doesnt matter if the circuit is still legit
13:12 blockh34d just a fun little learning experiment mostly, minimal investment etc
13:12 verak wan'ts to make CNC for PCB with thiss http://www.saftec.co.za/uploads/product-images/prox-kt701348573506.jpg
13:12 blockh34d i imagine making another one and putting each on eithe r end of a air hockey table
13:12 veverak just motorize it and make Z axis
13:13 veverak :D
13:13 blockh34d wouldnt that be funny? i think so
13:13 blockh34d get that thing hauling ass
13:13 blockh34d also i wonder about maybe milling both sides of something at once
13:13 blockh34d stacking two cncs on top of each other and basically DP'ing the block
13:14 blockh34d but i think first i'll just stick with the one
13:14 blockh34d maybe make a feed mechanism that can roll a 8x4' sheet underneat
13:15 blockh34d yeah that manual mill is the type of thing i need
17:33 veverak maybe
17:33 veverak just maybe
17:33 veverak I replaced mjpg-streamer
