00:36 wolfmanjm hexapod
01:18 Red_Onyx hello evolved primates
01:19 Red_Onyx oops, wrong channel
01:19 Red_Onyx ignore that
01:26 just_pink helllo
01:26 Jak_o_Shadows yo
01:29 just_pink after long time that my CNC was in in parts for maintenance and upgrade, today I did a job on it.... so fun to come back to the hobby.
01:29 Jak_o_Shadows I upgraded the 3d printer, and the banding is gone, but z-height is wrong
01:31 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: I want to try some day 3d printing..
01:31 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: what is the feed rate that you need for that?
01:32 Jak_o_Shadows eh, 3d printer people have made up their own terminology mostly
01:34 just_pink but how much fast it should be?
01:34 just_pink 100 mm/min?
01:34 just_pink 1000 mm/min?
01:35 Jak_o_Shadows Z movement is 40 mm/minute, XY travel is 150 mm/min for travel, 70 for printing
01:36 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: what do you mean by "for travel, 70 for printing"
01:37 ace4016 while printing, the head moves slower
01:37 Jak_o_Shadows yeah
01:37 ace4016 when it just needs to get to a position, it travels faster
01:37 just_pink so Z 40mm/min is you rapid moved??
01:38 Jak_o_Shadows eh, z movement really only occurs when homing
01:38 ace4016 the slower speed during printing can be due to limitations of the extruder or whatever, or speed-accuracy limitations (or combination of both)
01:38 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: what about 12,000mm/m?
01:39 zhanx- Z flashes my screen fyi
01:39 zhanx- :(
01:40 just_pink this is the may at my CMC machine
01:40 just_pink but II've slow it down to 1000/min max
01:40 just_pink It was wayyy tooo fast for me
01:41 ace4016 why in the world do you need 12,000 mm/m for a 3rd printer...
01:41 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: what type of had you are using?
01:41 Jak_o_Shadows j-head
01:41 ace4016 oh, CNC
01:42 just_pink ace4016: you dont, but 1HP servo motor 3000rpm direct drive.. just fly
01:42 ace4016 lol
02:06 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: http://i.imgur.com/AiiTy0Z.jpg
02:06 just_pink this the job that I did on the CNC today
02:07 Jak_o_Shadows I've seen those drivers. Much nicer than what I use
02:14 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: thay nice.. but i wanto to replace them with Elmo
02:29 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: I see that there is a-lot of J-heads..
02:29 Jak_o_Shadows yeah. TBH, I just have a cheap ebay one
02:29 just_pink which one ?
02:29 just_pink TBH?
02:30 Jak_o_Shadows to be honest
02:33 Jak_o_Shadows I have a cheap copy of https://www.hotends.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=88, and I have http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271882249891 coming
02:35 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: and hoe the cheap work?
02:35 wolfmanjm shame rally hotends.com the inventor of the jhead is stopping making them becuase of all the clones
02:36 wolfmanjm it is a shame people don;t support the people who invent this stuff, and support some chinese clone maker whi does not contribute anythign back to the reprap community.
02:37 Jak_o_Shadows It didn't put any heatsink/alu packing around the hot-end resistor, so that failed, but it was an easy fix
02:37 Jak_o_Shadows over $70 AUD would make it infeasible for lots of people
02:38 wolfmanjm well now no one will be able to buy a genuine jhead :(
02:38 just_pink I see that the "expensive" don't have replacement nozzle .. I think it's nice option to replace the nozzle if you need to..
02:39 wolfmanjm well that would not be a jhead
02:39 Jak_o_Shadows Somebody will step up. I'm not convinced that the quality is worth the price
02:39 wolfmanjm jheads have integrasted heater block and nozzle, thsat is what make sthem work so well vs the ones that have screw in nozzles. they don;lt heat as well
02:40 wolfmanjm oh I haev genuine jheads, and believe me they are far superior to the chinese junk
02:40 wolfmanjm well worth the price IMO
02:40 Jak_o_Shadows How?
02:40 wolfmanjm the old adage, "you get what y upat for" is so very true for hotends
02:41 wolfmanjm you pay*
02:41 wolfmanjm they never jam, they just work all the time, they never seem to wear out
02:41 wolfmanjm compared to the other ones that wear out, jam all the time, don't transfer heat very well to the filament causing bad prints... etc etc etc
02:42 wolfmanjm I've been through some cheap hotends :) and also some not so cheap ones that do not compare with the originals
03:30 just_pink hii
03:30 just_pink somone here in this time?
03:32 just_pink where I can get a tiny dc motor?
03:42 deshipu try China
03:42 deshipu or ebay
03:43 deshipu I usually use aliexpress
03:43 deshipu if you want something better quality, try pololu
03:43 Jak_o_Shadows many people resell polulu stuff
03:47 just_pink deshipu: Jak_o_Shadows - I need somthing in about 3mm in diameter + gear
03:47 Jak_o_Shadows a pager motor?
03:48 Jak_o_Shadows through gosh, that is tiny
03:49 just_pink I need about half the size of this one
03:49 just_pink http://www.robotshop.com/en/solarbotics-gm15-gear-motor.html
03:50 deshipu sounds like pager or quadcopter motors would be good
03:50 just_pink but with gear
03:50 deshipu http://www.aliexpress.com/item/4PCS-SYMA-X5C-1-X5C-X5-Motor-With-Whell-Gear-Engine-A-B-Spear/32390210299.html?s=p
03:50 just_pink I need about 120 - 300 RPM
03:51 just_pink deshipu: no gear :(
03:52 deshipu there is a gear on it
03:52 deshipu a single one
03:52 just_pink I mean gear box..
03:53 deshipu http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Queen-Dc-3v-Mini-Electronic-Motor-Planetary-Gearbox-for-Toy-USB-Fan/32342323252.html
03:53 deshipu how about this one?
03:55 just_pink huge!
03:56 deshipu or this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/5PCS-Used-3V-5V-Miniature-DC-Gear-Motor-For-Digital-Camera-Speed-Reduction-Motor/32422678165.html
03:56 just_pink deshipu: I need 3mm diameter.. 10 mm length
03:56 just_pink max
03:56 deshipu http://www.aliexpress.com/item/10pcs-DC-3-5v-Worm-Gear-Motor-Variable-Speed-Gearmotor-Micro-Reduction-Gear-Box/1975884070.html this looks small
03:57 deshipu 30*12*8 mm
03:57 Jak_o_Shadows what do you actually need it for?
03:57 deshipu I dount you will find 3mm gearboxes
03:58 deshipu doubt
03:58 just_pink too big.
03:58 just_pink Jak_o_Shadows: cosplay
03:59 Jak_o_Shadows ok
03:59 just_pink also rally small stepper motor also can work..
04:00 deshipu you can use stepper motors with no gearbox
04:00 deshipu there are some of those really tiny ones for moving the lens in cameras
04:00 just_pink but puncak version
04:01 just_pink you know aboud tiny stepper driver?
04:01 deshipu http://www.aliexpress.com/item/10Pcs-3-9mm-Mini-Stepper-motor-nice-Motor-for-Digital-Cameras/32359211054.html
04:01 deshipu 3.9mmm
04:02 deshipu almost
04:03 just_pink almost..
04:04 just_pink I'm basicly want to make a tiny piston
04:04 deshipu I guess you will have to figure out a way to house the motors in a different place and transfer the movement
04:05 deshipu http://www.aliexpress.com/item/50pcs-Micro-Screw-stepper-motor-small-screw-stepper-motor-Free-Shipping-J15095/32321402731.html
04:05 deshipu this one is 3.3mm
04:07 just_pink COOL!
04:07 just_pink how I can drive it?
04:08 deshipu for something that small, you can probably get away with using microcontroller gpio pins directly
04:08 deshipu it's probably a two-phase stepper
04:09 deshipu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stepper_motor#Bipolar_motor
04:09 just_pink I know tham..
04:09 deshipu it has 4 wires, two per winding
04:12 just_pink Like the floppy ones..
04:14 deshipu I have a whole box of such motors, I should try getting them to work one day
04:14 just_pink small like this one?
04:16 just_pink I go to sleep
04:16 just_pink 4:53 AM
04:16 just_pink deshipu: Jak_o_Shadows - good night,
06:39 Solarlux Hello all
06:39 Jak_o_Shadows yo
06:39 Solarlux Anyone here interested into industral robots?
06:40 Jak_o_Shadows sorta of, but I am pretty distant
06:40 Solarlux Fanuc, KUKA,siemens?
06:40 Jak_o_Shadows I am interested, but know nothing
11:41 deshipu I ordered a MyArm ;)
11:45 HKCMD can we control land rovers using flight controller boards?
11:47 deshipu I can't see why not
11:47 deshipu except you won't use most of the features, of course
11:49 HKCMD ok
12:11 HKCMD how can we control dc motor with flight controllers?
12:12 ace4016 do you know how to control a DC motor?
12:12 HKCMD yes
12:12 HKCMD h bridge
12:16 ace4016 do you know what outputs a flight controller put out?
12:16 HKCMD no
12:20 ace4016 you'll probably want to figure that out first :P
12:26 HKCMD yes
12:36 HKCMD can you tell me what ouputs they deliver?
12:38 Solarlux hello
12:41 HKCMD hi
12:42 rue_bed HKCMD, can you plug a hobby servo direct into it?
12:42 Solarlux HKCMD Hello
12:42 HKCMD hi
12:43 Solarlux I 'm interested in CNC systems and industral robots control
12:43 Solarlux And robot arm control
12:43 Solarlux :D
12:43 HKCMD ok
12:43 rue_bed Solarlux, made or have anything?
12:45 Solarlux I need start points
12:45 Solarlux i want fully learn to build these type of systems
12:45 Solarlux i have big curiousity
12:46 rue_bed are you in russia?
12:46 Solarlux Latvia
12:47 Solarlux And u?
12:47 rue_bed ah
12:47 rue_bed canada
12:47 Solarlux Are you russian?
12:47 rue_bed nyet
12:47 Solarlux Have o skype?
12:47 rue_bed nyet
12:48 rue_bed I'm working on a 3d printable robot arm
12:48 rue_bed know of any 3d printers over there?
12:48 Solarlux Yes
12:49 Solarlux But not made by me
12:49 Solarlux :D
12:49 rue_bed not EVERYONE has one yet
12:50 Solarlux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQQ9GDzOsaA
12:50 rue_bed do you have access to construction supplies?
12:51 Solarlux No
12:51 Solarlux )=
12:51 rue_house do you have any tools?
12:52 Solarlux No
12:52 Solarlux )=
12:54 rue_house hmm, really dont hear much about your country ever
12:54 rue_house Solarlux, can you get a hand saw?
12:55 rue_house wait
12:55 rue_house do you want to make a robot?
12:56 rue_house your close enough to russia that you could probably make a computer out of old toasters, making a robot shouldn't be too hard
13:03 Solarlux No no i need some
13:03 Solarlux knowledge
13:03 Solarlux about servo motors
13:07 ace4016 HKCMD, depends on the flight controller
13:14 HKCMD ok
13:15 HKCMD normally what way does it control?
13:27 ace4016 is this a flight controller for a quadcopter or RC plane? for an RC plane, it would handle the servo motors for flight surfaces (and maybe the landing gear) and maybe even the motor/engine
13:39 HKCMD so can we use it for dc motor?
13:43 ace4016 if it contorls DC motors, most likely
13:44 rue_house Solarlux, hobby servo motors or industrial servo motors
13:48 newbie|9 brushed dc motors?
