02:37 mrdata Jak_o_Shadows, did you browse thingiverse ?
02:38 mrdata http://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=gears&sa=
02:39 Jak_o_Shadows The thing is, I haven't dialed my printer in well enough to print herringbone gears yet
02:43 mrdata something like this might be to your liking http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:24618
04:32 Jak_o_Shadows rue, I set slicer to auto-choose what extrusion width to do, and it worked so much nicer
04:32 Jak_o_Shadows dunnow why I had it at 100% way back
10:17 rue_house you never use 100%
10:18 rue_house one of the things I tried to tell you was to use 80% max
10:18 rue_house jak.....
10:55 SpeedEvil Never go full extrude.
14:07 codepython777 does anyone know which motor and battery does this use --> http://www.clearpathrobotics.com/husky/ ?
15:51 SpeedEvil http://www.clearpathrobotics.com/husky/tech-specs/
15:52 SpeedEvil Capacity
15:52 SpeedEvil 24 V 20 Ah
15:52 SpeedEvil Run Time - Heavy Usage
15:52 SpeedEvil 3 hours
15:52 SpeedEvil multiply, divide
15:52 Hyratel1 big bot
15:53 Hyratel1 "request a quote" .. eh
15:53 SpeedEvil I like big bots.
15:53 Hyratel1 and I cannot lie
15:54 deshipu I like small ones
15:55 SpeedEvil I want proper medical nanotech
15:55 SpeedEvil with nanobots
15:55 deshipu nanobots are not real robots
15:55 deshipu no logic
15:56 SpeedEvil That depends on the definition.
15:56 SpeedEvil By 'medical nanotech' I mean ones that can brute force medical issues.
15:56 deshipu at some level any machine qualifies as a robot
15:56 SpeedEvil To, for example, allow wings.
15:57 deshipu nanowings?
16:12 veverak how is logicoma going? :)
16:29 deshipu veverak: I did some mockups with cardboard
16:29 deshipu veverak: and decided I need to put the legs farther apart to keep the proportions
16:30 deshipu other than that, it's been slow, since I have work now
16:35 veverak I see
16:39 deshipu veverak: how's your rover?
16:54 veverak nah, postponed
16:54 veverak different things deserve to be finished :D
16:56 deshipu what do you work on currently?
17:17 veverak airship/3d printer/ job
17:38 deshipu a blimp?
17:38 deshipu how large?
18:43 SpeedEvil Don't forget the helium printhead
20:29 codepython777 anyone here?
21:51 rue_shop3 yes
21:51 rue_shop3 I think I am
21:51 rue_shop3 just a sec, now I'm not sure
21:51 rue_shop3 I pinched myself and it looks like I'm still here
21:51 rue_shop3 so I think I am
21:52 codepython777 hi rue_shop
21:53 codepython777 rue_shop3: where do i go to get a 19v motor which has a good speed > 400 rpm and torque >  8 kgf-cm
21:54 rue_shop3 900 rpm is a geared motor
21:54 codepython777 whats planetary gear motor?
21:54 codepython777 spur gear motor?
21:54 rue_shop3 5400 degrees/sec
21:54 rue_shop3 what are hobby servos rated in?
21:55 codepython777 servos - i thought they dont have much torque
21:55 rue_shop3 find a hobby servo and tell me what they rate the shaft speed in
21:58 codepython777 Operating Torque (7.4V): 166.64 oz-in (12 kg-cm) - hitec hsr-2645cr
21:58 codepython777 rue_shop3: whats the difference between kg-cm and kgf-cm?
21:58 codepython777 max rpm is 72?
21:58 rue_shop3 first tell me the speed
21:59 codepython777 Operating Speed (4.8V): 46 RPM at no load
21:59 rue_shop3 hmm
21:59 codepython777 Operating Speed (7.4V): 72 RPM at no load
21:59 rue_shop3 dosn't sound like aservo
21:59 codepython777 look way slower
21:59 codepython777 hsr-2645cr servo
22:00 rue_shop3 I' was sure they measure the speed as the time it takes to do a particular angle
22:00 codepython777 http://hitecrcd.com/products/servos/robotic-servos/hsr-2645cr-continuous-rotation-digital-robot-servo/product
22:00 rue_shop3 but if they are saying it like that, then look for a low gear full size servo thats 900rpm
22:00 codepython777 46rpm??
22:00 rue_shop3 not robotic servos
22:01 codepython777 rue_shop3: pointer please?
22:02 rue_shop3 https://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=HITHS311S
22:02 rue_shop3 60* in 0.19 sec
22:02 rue_shop3 thats how servos are rated for speed
22:03 rue_shop3 900rpm is 60 degrees in .011 sec
22:03 codepython777 rue_shop3: thats < 60rpm? I was looking for -- 'where do i go to get a 19v motor which has a good speed > 400 rpm and torque >  8 kgf-cm'  - are you recommending using gears to speed up?
22:04 rue_shop3 motors turn faster than 400rpm
22:04 rue_shop3 motors run about 1000-5000 rpm
22:04 codepython777 oh
22:04 rue_shop3 if you want 400rpm, you want to get a geared motor
22:04 rue_shop3 servos are comodity available geared mtoors
22:04 codepython777 0.011 sec - i calculated using .11 sec
22:04 rue_shop3 with some extra electronics
22:04 rue_shop3 https://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=HITHS311S
22:05 rue_shop3 if you want 400 rpm
22:05 rue_shop3 you want 60 degrees in .025 seconds
22:05 rue_shop3 so you want to find a servo rated for .025sec/60 degrees
22:05 rue_shop3 get it?
22:06 codepython777 yup
22:06 codepython777 what about the torque?
22:06 rue_shop3 find the servo with the right speed and look at the torque
22:07 codepython777 the one you pointed was 3.7kgf
22:07 rue_shop3 if its way too low, you will know that your looking for soemthing with more power than a standard servo can put out, either try a large form servo, or search ebay for a gearmotor
22:08 rue_shop3 ok, well, see what ebay.com or http://aliexpress.com have for geared motors
22:08 codepython777 rue_shop3: what does planetary gear motor stand for?
22:08 rue_shop3 if your getting a geared motor, get soemthing rated for 110%-120% of the toruqe you want, and that can do an RPM higher than you want, scale it down with electronics
22:09 rue_shop3 codepython777, the type of gears dont matter to you :)
22:11 codepython777 rue_shop3: Min. Stall Torque - is that the torque when the motor gets stuck?
22:11 rue_shop3 yup
22:16 rue_shop3 http://www.aliexpress.com/item/5pcs-JGB37-550-DC-Gearmotor-High-Power-688-RPM-at-12-V/32275696453.html
22:16 rue_shop3 found one!
22:16 rue_shop3 thats not an easy one to locate!
22:16 rue_shop3 (ok, I found 5)
22:17 codepython777 rue_shop3: wow, thanks
22:17 codepython777 how did you search?
22:17 rue_shop3 the long list method
22:18 rue_shop3 is $11 ea ok?
22:19 codepython777 ! that is a steal!
22:19 rue_shop3 oh *** they have a hell shipping cost
22:19 codepython777 $11 - i thought it was $50
22:19 rue_shop3 $24 in shipping
22:19 rue_shop3 its $77 usd for the 5 + shipping
22:19 codepython777 oh! 5 pieces was $50, sorry
22:19 rue_shop3 so, $15.50 ea
22:20 codepython777 rue_shop3: https://www.servocity.com/html/313_rpm_hd_precision_planetary.html - was looking at this one - giving up on kg-cm but gaining on current. Would have liked a little higher kg-cm
22:20 codepython777 but its too high a price compared to yours
22:21 codepython777 maybe build quality is better?
22:21 rue_shop3 oh, yea totally
22:21 rue_shop3 prolly the exact same one
22:21 rue_shop3 wait, you said 400rpm, thats 313
22:21 codepython777 yes
22:21 rue_shop3 I passed up a lot of 313
22:21 rue_shop3 313 is the no-load rpm
22:21 rue_shop3 see in the table of the one I was showing you, they show the speed drop as you load it down
22:22 codepython777 well if i goto > 400rpm in that line, i get a kgf-cm reduction
22:22 rue_shop3 at 8kg-cm, the 12V speed is 738rpm
22:22 codepython777 which table?
22:22 rue_shop3 http://www.aliexpress.com/item/5pcs-JGB37-550-DC-Gearmotor-High-Power-688-RPM-at-12-V/32275696453.html
22:22 rue_shop3 opent he page and scroll all the way down along it
22:24 codepython777 I see, so as you reduce the rpm, your kgf-cm goes up - thats expected
22:24 rue_shop3 no
22:24 rue_shop3 your ass backwards
22:24 rue_shop3 as you put a heavier load on it, it slows down
22:24 rue_shop3 just like breakes
22:24 rue_shop3 brakes
22:25 rue_shop3 more you push on the brake, the more things slow down
22:25 codepython777 k k :)
22:26 codepython777 how do you calculate the "hp" of this motor?
22:26 rue_shop3 I look at the table, it says 60W
22:26 rue_shop3 there are 746W/HP
22:26 rue_shop3 then I go to my command line
22:26 rue_shop3 and type
22:27 rue_shop3 root@blackie2:/files/programming/c# units 60W hp
22:27 rue_shop3 * 0.080461325
22:27 rue_shop3 and the program tells me that its .08hp
22:27 codepython777 so 4 x these motos give me .32 hp ?
22:27 rue_shop3 well, back to my command line
22:28 rue_shop3 root@blackie2:/files/programming/c# calc .080461325*4
22:28 rue_shop3 .080461325*4 -->> 0.321845
22:28 rue_shop3 says its .321845hp
22:28 rue_shop3 5 is a good number if your using 4, gives you a spare
22:29 codepython777 rue_shop3: thanks!
22:29 codepython777 what are you building these days?
22:29 rue_shop3 if they are charging that much in shipping from china, I'm gonna bet they arrive a LOT faster than 22 days
22:29 rue_shop3 fingers
22:29 rue_shop3 for the 12foot mecha
22:29 rue_shop3 and wrists and forearms
22:29 codepython777 servos?
22:29 codepython777 ros?
22:29 rue_shop3 air muscles
22:30 codepython777 air?
22:37 codepython777 rue_shop3: air muscles?
22:43 rue_shop3 use the google python, use the google
22:44 codepython777 looking
22:46 codepython777 rue_shop3: I've another question for you. I currently use this to mount a camera and move it around:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da_OutmKfdc - I need something faster - that can do super fast rotations - any hints on how i can do this?
22:47 rue_shop3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq1uXv_NfrQ&list=PLEAC147CDF6E03FEA
22:47 rue_shop3 also see that
22:48 codepython777 interesting
22:48 Jak_o_Shadows bigger motors, or gearing it up
22:48 rue_shop3 <Jak_o_Shadows> dunnow why I had it at 100% way back
22:48 rue_shop3 <rue_house> you never use 100%
22:48 rue_shop3 <rue_house> one of the things I tried to tell you was to use 80% max
22:48 rue_shop3 <rue_house> jak.....
22:48 codepython777 Jak_o_Shadows: does bigger motor mean faster stopping and moving ? The main problem is stopping and changing motion direction/speed
22:49 Jak_o_Shadows Yeah, I think I was getting extrusion width and extrusion multiplier confued.
22:49 rue_shop3 ok I could have made that more clear
22:50 Jak_o_Shadows BTW, your air muscles look really good.
22:50 codepython777 rue_shop3: any hints on how to make my pan tilt faster ?
22:51 rue_shop3 MORE POWER
22:51 rue_shop3 I cant view youtube videos on this machine
22:51 codepython777 rue_shop3: oh! That was your muscles. I thought that was just a video you pointed out. Cool
22:51 Jak_o_Shadows codepython777, do you need the full range of motion, or just part?
22:53 rue_shop3 codepython777, there is hope for you yet :)
22:53 codepython777 Jak_o_Shadows: I would ideally want a 360 degree rotation- to and fro on the base
22:53 rue_shop3 you making an arm?
22:53 codepython777 rue_shop3: thanks - I thought you are going to kill me by now :)
22:54 codepython777 Jak_o_Shadows: for the top, 90 degree is fine
22:54 codepython777 so i need 2 motors
22:54 codepython777 rue_shop3: just making a pan tilt for a camera
22:54 e_shop3 puts the pickaxe away, cant attack while he suspects soemt
22:54 codepython777 ooo
22:56 codepython777 hitec servos are expensive
22:56 codepython777 futaba too
22:57 rue_shop3 http://www.aliexpress.com/item/10pcs-lot-38g-SERVO-S3003-Standard-Servo-RC-CAR-BOAT-SERVO-hpi-1-10-1-8/32293969658.html
22:57 rue_shop3 those ones aren't
22:58 rue_shop3 there IS a quality difference
23:00 codepython777 rue_shop3: https://www.servocity.com/html/hitec_servos.html - if you look at the standard size servos on this list - the prices jump as soon as the speed goes to anything below < 0.1 sec
23:01 codepython777 rue_shop3: I currently use this one -- https://www.servocity.com/html/hs-485hb_servo.html#.VacnCvm6ftQ - but thats too slow for me
23:01 codepython777 rue_shop3: how do you move air in and out of that muscle? is it a linear actuator?
23:02 rue_shop3 valves
23:06 codepython777 rue_shop3: any comments on my motors - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/10pcs-lot-38g-SERVO-S3003-Standard-Servo-RC-CAR-BOAT-SERVO-hpi-1-10-1-8/32293969658.html - doesnt even say what is the rpm?
23:12 rue_shop3 100% Brand New.
23:12 rue_shop3 Bearing Type: Bushing
23:12 rue_shop3 The Torque: 44 oz - in (3.2 kg - cm) at 4.8 V
23:12 rue_shop3 57 oz - in (4.1 kg - cm) at 6.0 V
23:12 rue_shop3 19 the SEC / 60 6.0 V
23:12 rue_shop3 Speed: 23 SEC / 60 4.8 V
23:12 rue_shop3 Length: 1.6 "(40 mm) X Width: 8" (20 mm) X Height: 1.4 "(44 mm)
23:12 rue_shop3 The Connector Wire Length is 150 mm
23:12 rue_shop3 Weight: 1.3 ounce (37.2 grams)
23:12 rue_shop3 .19sec, 60 degrees at 6V
23:13 rue_shop3 read to learn chinese!
23:14 codepython777 oops, missed the .19 sec / 60 degrees
23:14 codepython777 sorry
23:15 codepython777 rue_shop3: 0.18sec/60° at no load - is my current one - and is too slow
23:16 codepython777 Torque = (6.0kg.cm) - for the one i have
23:16 codepython777 Lemme search for some servos there - maybe i'll find a faster one
23:18 codepython777 rue_shop3: thanks. I think i can find one, will have to try one
