00:56 rue_shop3 he's getting better
00:59 ace4016 hrm...
00:59 ace4016 looks interesting
00:59 ace4016 i wonder how well it performs
01:01 rue_shop3 yea I video would be nice
01:01 rue_shop3 looks like the fingertips might have issues
01:01 rue_shop3 the tendons arrangement isn't right
01:04 rue_shop3 the finger uses 3 tendons
01:04 rue_shop3 two for curling and one for uncurling
01:04 ace4016 i think the tendons are preloaded as well
01:09 rue_shop3 he could have just used systalic pumps
01:09 rue_shop3 I might try that, just for kicks
01:11 rue_shop3 http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-12V-Dosing-Pump-Peristaltic-Dosing-Head-For-Aquarium-Lab-Analytical-Water-DIY-/131273566619
01:11 rue_shop3 hmm
01:11 rue_shop3 0-100 ml / min
01:12 rue_shop3 so,
01:13 rue_shop3 6 seconds stop-stop on a 10cc syringe
01:13 rue_shop3 bit slow, not too much
01:13 ace4016 hrm....
01:16 rue_shop3 I wonder how many of those pumps I have from inkjet printers
01:16 ace4016 inket uses peristaltic pumps?
01:16 rue_shop3 yea, to suck head
01:16 rue_shop3 ;)
01:17 rue_shop3 dosn't work, they still clog up
01:17 rue_shop3 well, printing with a 0.8mm nozzel was interesting
01:18 rue_shop3 I think I'll switch to something smaller
01:19 ace4016 heh
01:19 rue_shop3 it works tho
01:20 rue_shop3 Im thinking alot about what Triffid_Hunter said, that the nozzel size dosn't matter much
01:21 rue_shop3 I wonder how far I can stretch it, use a .4mm nozzel for .6mm prints
01:21 rue_shop3 by sheer lieing
01:21 Triffid_Hunter rue_shop3: I'm printing 0.6 width with an 0.35 nozzle right now, works fien
01:21 Triffid_Hunter fine*
01:21 rue_shop3 life!
01:21 rue_shop3 so, damn near 200%
01:21 rue_shop3 huh
01:22 Triffid_Hunter rue_shop3: well the diameter of the flat around the nozzle is probably a good upper limit for width
01:22 rue_shop3 this nozzel I set up dosnt' have much flat
01:22 rue_shop3 its a .3 I redrilled to .8 and filed down a bit
01:23 Triffid_Hunter rue_shop3: well the nozzle diameter sets a minimum on width, and layer height should be less than 80% of nozzle diameter for best results
01:23 rue_shop3 thats why I'm playing with a .8, to go to .5 layer height
01:24 rue_shop3 but it didn't like it much
01:24 Triffid_Hunter heh I can't imagine that working well without the flat around the nozzle
01:24 rue_shop3 that might be its failing
01:24 rue_shop3 I'll reshape it sometime and try again
01:25 rue_shop3 oh, the skipped steps, I caught the filament pushing down on the carrige today
01:25 rue_shop3 there's +1 for bowden
01:26 Triffid_Hunter eh?
01:28 rue_shop3 the filament was buckling pre-filament feed, pushing down on the carrige, which drove it into the print
02:20 rue_shop3 I did/am doing up some gearboxes I plan to turn into custom servos at some point
02:27 Casper rue!
02:27 Casper I fixed the pressure switch!
02:30 Casper short story, today I needed the compressor for brail nailing... so yesterday I reassembled it... I put the parts, reasseblme the non-working switch (so I can use it manually)... take the screw and... wait, what's that? where does that screw goes? wait... what'.s that? oh a kind of nut with pins on the side...
02:30 Casper yup, the missing part was there!
02:30 Casper ... I don't recall to have put it there at all, in fact, I don't recall to have even seen it before
02:30 Casper ... maybe a spirit found it and put it there? who knows...
02:39 rue_shop3 the gnomes only steal things from me
02:40 rue_shop3 they like making off with my tools while I'm not looking and then returning them 4 hours later
02:42 rue_shop3 printing a large pipe cap with a 0.8mm nozzel, its eating thru the 3mm filament like crazy
04:57 orlock eurgh
04:58 orlock rue: I took your SCP picture - so remind me to take another around December 11th
04:59 orlock rue: also - that geared stepper and drive belt + toothed wheel , etc etc
04:59 orlock finally got real use
05:07 orlock hah wtf
05:07 orlock http://aud.dx.com/product/neje-300mw-mini-diy-laser-engraving-machine-picture-logo-cnc-laser-printer-transparent-961379598#.VX1M1kbSkQk
05:24 deshipu orlock: is that... a diskette drive?
05:26 orlock I think it may be made using dvd drove parts
05:26 orlock drive
10:58 veverak damn it
10:58 veverak robot settings gui
10:58 veverak harder than I thought!
12:23 rue_house make it a non-gui and than add a gui front
14:07 Hyratel1 I've been following this since it was first shown in a lab demo three years ago, and I'm glad to see it's finally coming to commecially available Soon(TM) - http://coolchiptechnologies.com/
14:10 veverak looks interesting
14:10 veverak but for me it seems like the fan it's too low
14:10 veverak and thous blowing hot air on chips around it :)
14:11 Hyratel1 add a deflector hood?
14:11 Hyratel1 I don't doubt that such things will be considered
14:11 veverak propably?
14:11 veverak but idea itself looks awesome ofc
14:12 Hyratel1 the first prototypes had an air pump forcing air between the plate and rotor
14:12 Hyratel1 but it looks like they've eliminated the need for that
14:12 rue_house sounds loud
14:12 Hyratel1 nope
14:13 Hyratel1 in one of the CES videos the dude with the mic sticks his mic right up close and you can maybe? hear? something? faint? but compared to the traditional blower it's nothing
