00:19 Jak_o_Shadows i'm just using photo glass at the moment
00:19 Jak_o_Shadows printing onto masking tape actually
00:22 rue_shop3 every cut went bad on one end
01:27 rue_bed ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFVGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFV
01:27 rue_bed OH
01:27 rue_bed hi kitty
10:14 armyofevilrobo-1 rue_shop3: I just go to the glass place and get a 1/4” glass 8x8 square. I think it costs as much as TWO coffees :D
10:14 armyofevilrobo-1 (like 8 bucks).
13:24 SquirrelCZECH any tips for robot control brain except of arduino?
13:24 SquirrelCZECH *control board, not the brain
13:24 SquirrelCZECH ide ais that I have one pcb that ocntrols robot motor/servo (rc car) + another things on the robot
13:25 SquirrelCZECH and that can be connected to raspbbery pi/bluetooth module etc etc etc
13:25 SquirrelCZECH and display some sort of way to control the robot
13:25 SquirrelCZECH or provide
13:44 Hyratel look up IOIO
13:44 Tom_itx beaglebone black
13:56 malinus I like stm32 quiet a lot :), much more powerfull than arduino.
13:57 chris_99 yeah i really like the stm32 disco board
13:57 chris_99 i've got
14:04 SquirrelCZECH hmm, interesting
14:04 deshipu hello
14:06 deshipu SquirrelCZECH: what's interesting?
14:06 SquirrelCZECH deshipu: asked about which board I should use :)
14:07 uirrelCZECH got RC Car and want's to convert it into usable r
14:07 SquirrelCZECH *usable rover
14:07 SquirrelCZECH something that is easy to control by other devices
14:07 SquirrelCZECH so I want to add some control unit that will take care of everything and just will let other things to give it commands
14:07 deshipu arduino pro mini :)
14:08 deshipu of course
14:08 SquirrelCZECH yeah
14:08 SquirrelCZECH I thought about arduino and firmata and fuck it
14:08 SquirrelCZECH :)
14:22 malinus chris_99: in general, you get much more preformance/$ with stm32 (compared to avr).
14:22 malinus I love both, but stm32 is just this sexy younger and more tender women. Avr is my wife.
14:23 deshipu malinus: unless you never use all that performance you get
14:23 deshipu malinus: then it's much less
14:23 malinus How so?
14:24 deshipu malinus: if all you do is change your pwm 50 times a second, you don't need much power
14:24 deshipu and that's pretty much what is needed here
14:24 malinus Sure, I'm just talking in general.
14:25 deshipu in general you always have to think about what you are doing :)
14:25 malinus You can get 6pin 4-bit mcu's that can do the job!
14:25 malinus Yes, they still makes those :)
14:25 deshipu personally I never got my dev env for the stm32 to work properly
14:26 deshipu it's too hostile to open source
14:26 chris_99 oh, what went wrong deshipu?
14:26 malinus deshipu: what? That's just BS
14:26 chris_99 works fine under linux for me
14:26 malinus deshipu: the whole toolchain is free as freedom, just like avr's
14:26 deshipu no idea, my guess is that my gdb is in wrong version compared to my openocd
14:27 deshipu I will probably need to compile both on my own
14:27 deshipu when I have several days of free time, that is
14:27 malinus never used openocd so I wouldn't know about that. I just use gdb+STLINK+arm-gcc
14:28 chris_99 i use openocd + gcc on ubuntu, which seems to work fine
14:28 malinus But looks interesting, I guess I look into it.
14:28 deshipu malinus: how do you upload?
14:28 malinus deshipu: STLINK
14:29 malinus https://github.com/texane/stlink
14:29 deshipu thanks
14:29 deshipu I guess I will try it when I'm back home
14:29 malinus I didn't even know there were any other way, well except the bootloader
14:29 deshipu well, admittely it's some cheap chinese board
14:30 deshipu http://www.aliexpress.com/item/STM32F103C8T6-ARM-STM32-Minimum-System-Development-Board-Module-ForArduin/32282374854.html
14:30 deshipu this one
14:30 deshipu or similar
14:31 malinus deshipu: oh yeah, you don't have a stlink programmer than. The real discovery board comes with a dedicated programmer. I don't know which software to use, to upload using the bootloader
14:31 malinus *then
14:31 deshipu I have a programmer separately
14:31 deshipu and I even got gdb to set breakpoints and all
14:32 deshipu just can't upload
14:32 deshipu stuck with blink :)
14:32 malinus hehe. But yeah, if it's a STLINK programmer, than use what I've linked (if you distro doesn't provide a package with it, arch do)
14:33 deshipu unfortunately I'm in a middle of relocating and won't get my stuff until next month
14:34 malinus I'm so excited. I'm gonna get all free access to a makerBot 2 from next week!
14:34 deshipu what does that entail?
14:35 malinus Attending to my school of engineering, and taking a 1-hour 3d pritning introduction thing.
20:19 rue_shop3 1 hour?
20:19 rue_shop3 so your not printing anything
20:19 Jak_o_Shadows My printer tripped the safety switch when I was carelessly unplugging it.
20:20 Jak_o_Shadows Then the same extension lead I plug the printer to tripped the safety switch when I was adding a brand new surge protector powerboard.
20:21 rue_shop3 its gonna get soft
20:21 Jak_o_Shadows ?
20:21 rue_shop3 shall I change out the controller on the reprap for one that I have set up for a heated bed?
20:22 Jak_o_Shadows the heated bed helps with bed adhesion I think.
20:22 rue_shop3 I dont think I want to use this heated bed on the new one, the table is extra big, and that heated bed is smaller than the origional machine
20:22 rue_shop3 and warping
20:22 Jak_o_Shadows yeah.
20:23 Jak_o_Shadows I need to get a bigger sheet of glass, i'm cutting my width my 6cm
20:23 rue_shop3 last night I applied one heck of a lot of heatsink compound to the heater to bind it to the glass I have on it
20:23 rue_shop3 the heated area of that bed heater is rather small tho
20:23 rue_shop3 203mm x 205mm
20:24 rue_shop3 larger than that and the glass will prolly split form the side
20:26 Jak_o_Shadows I was foolish originally, and my y-axis is offset so I can't access my entire bed
20:43 rue_shop3 yay, it appears the new controller works
21:28 rue_house sweeet, hook up the heated bed
21:37 Jak_o_Shadows I need to find my other thermistors so I can measure how hot the build chamber gets
23:36 rue_shop3 hey hey hey, I have a hot bed!
23:36 rue_shop3 now I just have to mount it to the printer!
23:40 rue_shop3 it looks like my subplate is larger than 21cm x 21cm
23:40 rue_shop3 this will help
23:42 rue_shop3 seems my extruer can only reach 22cmx19cm anyhow
