09:23 veverak I have project
09:24 veverak it's cadl ibrary and it's able to utilize information about materials
09:24 veverak like density etc...
09:24 veverak is there database where I could find that information?
09:36 rue_house not easily
09:39 veverak rue_house: express yourself more :P O:) please :)
09:40 deshipu it's basically what you are paying for when you are buying paid CAD software
09:41 veverak ...
09:41 veverak makes sense
09:41 deshipu the software itself is not important, all the information about materials, norms and simulation algorithms is
09:41 veverak sort of makes me want to write wiki parser
09:41 deshipu I wore a couple, it's fun
09:41 deshipu wrote
09:42 rue_house instead of layer 30, use layer 22
09:43 veverak nah
09:43 verak uses so far only few th
09:43 veverak but I realized that got hands on some proepr database would nice
09:43 veverak seems like it's not happening
09:44 veverak P.S: frew menas density of ABS/PLA/Aluminium
09:44 veverak *few
09:47 rue_house I'm making a gearbox :)
09:48 veverak rue_house: want generator?
09:48 veverak https://cloud.veverak.org/public.php?service=files&t=20d62d146e18560229e39b86cb4d0b09
09:49 rue_house looking good!
09:49 rue_house http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:478164
09:49 rue_house saw that one, right?
09:50 veverak yeah
09:50 rue_house I think its pretty good
09:50 verak wants something little bit diffe
09:50 veverak :)
09:51 rue_house oh indeed, I was just askin
09:51 veverak rue_house: originally I wanted that suspension too
09:51 veverak but now I am too impressed by 'airless wheel'
09:51 veverak https://cloud.veverak.org/public.php?service=gallery&t=6fdb8234f7eea9ce9a7fcceeb0f12bdc
09:51 veverak at one point
09:51 veverak it was almost finished
09:51 veverak but now too many things are rebuilded :)
10:37 _TK_ Hiya!
10:38 deshipu finishing projects is a skill
10:45 _TK_ ( those sound interesting )
10:46 _TK_ Haven't encountered veverak for some time.
10:46 _TK_ Greetings to You all!
11:29 _TK_ How reasonably could one obtain|build a robot arm able to lift|manipulate ~ 512 g or so?
11:32 deshipu _TK_: what speed and range?
11:46 _TK_ veverak, could try 'scrapy'.
11:52 _TK_ ( seems there were connection problems )
11:53 deshipu never noticed anything
11:53 _TK_ veverak, could try 'scrapy' or a more general table scraper.
11:54 deshipu so, guys, if you wanted to make a small (fitting in a palm) robot that would be able to climb your furniture (get on the desk from the floor, etc.), what would you try?
11:55 deshipu the furniture may be "improved" in ways that don't interefere with its normal daily use
11:55 deshipu I guess jumping would be the simplest approach
12:12 veverak _TK_: makes sense
12:12 veverak deshipu: sticky materials?
12:12 veverak maybe?
12:13 veverak deshipu: small rocket motor would be awesome, but I suppose that's inpractical
12:16 deshipu veverak: not indoors, no
12:16 deshipu veverak: I was also thinking about attaching some kind of small ladders or magnets to the desk legs
12:17 veverak deshipu: magnets makes sense
12:17 veverak deshipu: or add magnets on the robot and climb metal objects?
12:18 deshipu a grappling hook is also an option
12:18 veverak yeah
12:20 deshipu or a telescopic elevator
12:22 veverak :D
12:22 veverak deshipu: magnets seems best for me
12:22 veverak add 4 small magnets on the end of your legs and ready to go?
12:22 veverak :)
12:24 deshipu veverak: how would you detach them?
12:24 deshipu I'd rather have some sort of holes and hook the legs in them
12:25 veverak deshipu: balance the strength correctly?
12:25 veverak let's say you use your 4 leg robot
12:25 veverak I suppose it should be able to lift one of the legs ?
12:26 veverak of course it means one step per a time which is slow...
12:26 deshipu but the the same time the 3 magnets have to be able to pull it towards the vertical plane strongly enough so that the friction will prevent it from falling...
12:26 deshipu veverak: I'm doing one step at a time anyways
12:26 veverak yeah
12:27 veverak shoudln't it be calculable?
12:27 veverak if it would work?
12:27 veverak I suppose it would be easier with 6 legs version maybe
12:27 deshipu well, there are ways to increase the friction
12:27 deshipu for instance, by having holes for the legs
12:28 deshipu then you don't even need the magnets ;)
12:28 veverak yeah
12:28 veverak or!
12:28 veverak velcro? :)
12:28 deshipu nah
12:28 deshipu the grappling hook idea has some appeal, because it makes it more spider-like
12:29 deshipu but then I will need a motor able to lift it
12:29 deshipu but it may be slow
12:30 deshipu there may be magnets at the edge of the desk to catch the grappling hook
12:31 veverak yeah
12:31 veverak but the aiming may be tricky i suppose
12:32 veverak nah
12:33 verak should buy the things for dual extr
20:09 rue_house oh, I'm gonna make a nozzel!
20:44 MrCurious $61 with shipping http://www.radiation-watch.org/p/english.html#type5
22:20 katsmeow-afk is this the channel for robots with Turette's Syndrome?
22:21 katsmeow-afk or Tourette syndrome
22:21 katsmeow-afk etc
22:22 orlock one of mine freaked out overnight
22:22 orlock started another print
22:22 orlock http://en.crypt.net.au/printing/current.jpg
22:23 orlock i'll have a movie of the other print failing
22:23 orlock finally dragged equatorial out too
22:23 orlock http://en.crypt.net.au/astrophotography/current.jpg
22:23 orlock wobblewobblewobble
22:23 orlock 20 minute exposure
22:24 katsmeow-afk those look like interesting paws it's printing
22:24 orlock katsmeow-afk: hows it going? hows alamaba?
22:24 katsmeow-afk same ole same ole
22:24 orlock 4 of these
22:24 orlock http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29586
22:24 katsmeow-afk two teens decapitated puppies somewhere south of me, and some guys re-painted the 6ft penis on my gate
22:26 katsmeow-afk an egg cup. eh?
22:26 katsmeow-afk i wonder if frames for endangered coral can be printed
22:28 orlock maybe - that plastic is PLA, made from corn byproducts and biodegradable or non toxic or something
22:29 katsmeow-afk i was thinking cement
22:30 orlock different style extruder for that
22:30 orlock paste rather than filament
22:31 tsmeow-afk
22:32 katsmeow-afk i just figured out you can hide a flying saucer in plain sight if you park it in water (10ft of water for a 10ft tall saucer) and cover it in sand ... humans would just think it's a beach / sand bar
22:33 katsmeow-afk totally hide an intergalactic saucer in water 200 miles east of Florida, they'd think it was just part of the Bahamas
22:34 orlock hmm
22:34 orlock i'm sure that was in a kids show
22:34 orlock the last navigator?
22:34 katsmeow-afk must be a movie in there somewhere, like robots emerging to politically control Fla, and no one noticed
22:35 orlock the flight of the navigator?
22:35 katsmeow-afk no, that was a pea and shot *in* florida
22:35 katsmeow-afk it looked like a cross tween a dart and a bean
22:37 orlock http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_of_the_Navigator
22:37 katsmeow-afk news flash : Biscayne Bay was site of previous saucer landing, that's why it's so shallow, and round
22:37 katsmeow-afk yeas, i remember the movie
22:40 katsmeow-afk i might even have it on vhs around here somewhere
22:45 katsmeow-afk so maybe what humans think are asteroid impact zones are really where a saucer landed, and then to escape earth's gravity, the saucer would pull on passing asteroids to lift itself, they'd pass each otehr, the saucer leaving the round depression and the asteroid causing the pile of rubble "rebound peak" in the center
22:46 tsmeow-afk pokes or
22:47 katsmeow-afk November 27, 2012 | 06:27PM PT Two of Sundance 2012’s breakout stars are preparing for another adventure, as the “Safety Not Guaranteed” team of Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly have been hired to rewrite Disney’s “Flight of the Navigator” remake
22:47 orlock would need a donut shaped saucer?
22:48 katsmeow-afk in the realm of flying saucers, is a donut one not possible?
22:48 orlock sure, why not
22:48 orlock it actually kinda makes mor sense than just "magic" antigravity
22:48 tsmeow-afk ag
22:49 orlock more like pulling yourself up via tractor beam then "pushing" off whatever just went through you
22:49 katsmeow-afk yeas
22:49 orlock .. and then you can spin the ship
22:50 orlock i knew that the shape had been done before
22:50 katsmeow-afk but "flight of the navigator" wasn't a saucer
22:50 orlock yeah it morphed iirc
22:51 katsmeow-afk yeas, like from a bean-pod shape to a dart shape
22:52 orlock hmm
22:53 orlock do i rebuild my scope controller for the third time
22:53 orlock or just go with the working board
22:53 katsmeow-afk or patch the working board
22:53 orlock only reason to rebuild it is to move to a darlington array that has more lines, and use an arduino nano instead of arduino whateverthefuck-with-screwy-pinouts
22:54 katsmeow-afk hmm, that does sound like a rebuild
22:54 orlock its only on perfboard, but i can use a different arduino and reduce the footprint enough that will let me remove a pile of annoying headers and plugs
22:54 orlock so instead of cables - uln2k3 - cables - arduino
22:55 orlock i can jave the arduino socketed onto the same board as a single.. what are the bugger darlingtons arrays?
22:55 orlock uln2003 are 7 output each?
22:55 orlock and i need 8
22:55 orlock takes it from "kit box" size to "handset" size
22:55 katsmeow-afk i never used the packaged arrays
22:56 katsmeow-afk 8 arrays?!
22:57 orlock ULN2803A
22:58 orlock ahh
22:58 orlock $2.21
23:01 orlock argh $10 shipping on a $10 order wtf
