21:56 rue_shop3 so I just realized that I could hook my heated printed bed up to the extuder controls to give it a try
21:56 rue_shop3 it hit 60 ok,
21:56 rue_shop3 so I went for 110
21:57 rue_shop3 and the glass broke
21:57 rue_shop3 hmmmm
22:02 rue_shop3 I ahve a new idea
22:04 Triffid_Hunter heh it cracked? that can happen if your thermal contact is poor or you're missing a heat spreader, and the glass gets hot-spots. as long as it's heated evenly it shouldn't break
22:04 rue_shop3 its a mirror
22:04 rue_shop3 I figured that the coating would help spread heat
22:05 rue_shop3 it held 110c ok tho
22:05 rue_shop3 its just *1* break
22:06 rue_shop3 I'm gonna make a silicone heating mat, with a thin top and a thick back
22:06 rue_shop3 if I want, I can put some flashing between the glass and it to spread heat
22:09 Triffid_Hunter alfoil is good, or 1-3mm alu sheet if you have some
22:09 Triffid_Hunter also mind how you mount the glass, you want enough compression to get good thermal contact, but not so much that the glass is stressed
22:10 rue_shop3 seems lots of people use paper clips
22:10 rue_shop3 ?
22:11 rue_shop3 I was goint to pull it down with springs from siliconed on anchors at the back and then hol it up with screws so I could level it
