07:57 GuShH Tom_itx: got the mill fixed up?
09:52 GuShH rue_shop2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHqN-Be5nlU#t=162
10:01 armyofevilrobots I thought it was just the surface tension attracting until he got to the part with the iron filings looking stuff. Still not sure if it is a prank or not.
10:08 GuShH armyofevilrobots: it's not a prank
10:08 armyofevilrobots never. eating. total.
10:08 GuShH armyofevilrobots: but I believe most of the iron is added
10:08 GuShH in some places, like wehre I live, they have a law to add iron to milk for instance
10:08 GuShH and other vitamins
10:08 GuShH (I thought milk already had quite enough of those)
10:09 GuShH armyofevilrobots: when you have anemia, you have to take iron oxide
10:10 GuShH the pills are literally, iron.
10:10 GuShH and other powdered additives
10:10 GuShH and shit, guess why your blood is red.
10:11 armyofevilrobots Oh, I know, but that’s a ton of extra iron, which can be toxic if you get too much.
10:12 GuShH everything is toxic in excess :p
10:12 GuShH you can also get sick from working with aluminum too much
10:12 armyofevilrobots Yeah, I actually wasn’t sure what the limit was, and just looked it up. It’s ludicrously high.
10:13 GuShH for aluminum?
10:13 GuShH not sure, but the effects are terrible
10:13 armyofevilrobots For iron.
10:13 GuShH I had it once
10:13 GuShH you get involuntary muscle twitches at night
10:13 GuShH very scary.
10:13 armyofevilrobots welding?
10:13 GuShH no, machining
10:14 GuShH I bet welding fumes are worse
10:14 GuShH at least, I have been zinc poisoned
10:14 GuShH and that didn't take much.
10:14 GuShH but you become immune once enough zinc is in your system
10:14 armyofevilrobots Huh, I machined a lot of aluminum, never had anything. Welding galvanized I know is bad for zinc poisoning, but I always wore a respirator on everything but mild steel.
10:15 GuShH machining, finishing, etc. depends on your exposure to the metal - gloves help
10:15 GuShH finishing produces much finer powders
10:15 armyofevilrobots In retrospect, I probably inhaled a ton of nasty shit. The CNC aerosolized a lot of coolant, along with whatever was dissolved in it.
10:15 GuShH usually mixed with oils, ends up sticking to the skin
10:15 GuShH yeah
10:16 GuShH I don't like spray / misting coolant for that reason
10:23 armyofevilrobots Even through-head coolant makes a lot of mist when you run high enough rpms.
10:23 armyofevilrobots but yeah, agree.
14:28 pythonirc1011 Does anyone know which of these is better lens for robotics = VST SV-0813V or LM12NCL (or maybe you guys can suggest something for C mount?)
15:26 deshipu pythonirc1011: lens for what in robotics?
16:13 ace4016 fancy camera lenses
16:13 ace4016 pick one that meets your environmental and perforamnce specifications
16:14 ace4016 robotics is far from standard
16:31 Veverak pythonirc1011: any better description of use?
16:32 Veverak pythonirc1011: afaik best way to find out which lens you want is to ... let's say write down what you want
16:32 Veverak find pictuers of made with that lenses
16:32 Veverak or videos
16:32 Veverak and figure out which one meets your written requirements best
18:57 Veverak https://cloud.veverak.org/public.php?service=files&t=acb2d387f9f57168f435d542b5592b67
18:57 Veverak nah nah
18:58 Veverak finally fullymade gearbox
18:58 Veverak + mountig plate to chassis
18:58 Veverak (that U shapes are frame alias chassis)
18:58 Veverak gearbox -> really nice, some code modifications and finally done
18:58 Veverak that plate -> big ammount of code bullshit, but well... alfa version :)
18:59 RifRaf rue_shop3, can we do this? http://www.google.com/patents/US5237250
19:01 Veverak RifRaf: they pantented something like this?
19:01 Veverak ah... why am I even asking
21:59 rue_shop3 Tom_itx, you awal again?
22:20 Tom_itx awal?
22:20 Tom_itx awol
22:20 Tom_itx no
22:50 rue_shop3 Tom_itx, where did you ptu the temp sensor in your oven?
22:50 rue_shop3 you missed it in every photo
22:58 Tom_itx no, it's there
22:58 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/toaster_oven/sensor2.jpg
22:59 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/toaster_oven/sensor3.jpg
22:59 Tom_itx the tape is just until the red rtv sets up
23:00 Tom_itx the board helps isolate the soldering of the sensor from the oven heat
23:01 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/toaster_oven/sensor1.jpg
23:01 Tom_itx another perspective of it
23:01 Tom_itx the white around it is that insul you find on hot appliances
23:02 Tom_itx woven fiberglass?
23:07 rue_shop3 cool
23:07 rue_shop3 its a tiny one
23:07 rue_shop3 k
23:08 rue_shop3 so its...
23:08 e_shop3 works out which way i
23:08 rue_shop3 just above the bottom element
23:08 rue_shop3 on the non-control side
23:08 rue_shop3 left side
23:12 rue_shop3 high temp silicone to hold it in...
23:52 rue_shop3 well I have some insulation in there, a plate, the SSRs
23:52 rue_shop3 a power connector, a fuse holder, a db9
23:59 rue_shop3 tom, isn't it bad to solder the temp sensor of a reflow oven to the pcb fixed to the side of said oven?
