03:52 darthmachinist http://www.adafruit.com/product/736 I guess
03:53 darthmachinist I need to go more than 300 rpm, though
03:55 darthmachinist http://www.maniacelectricmotors.com/710413.html?AdID=16070cm00cm0710413&gclid=CJuj4oGw3sICFQIQ7AodhzQAZg
03:55 darthmachinist oh my
04:22 Veverak nah, gone
04:22 Veverak wanted to say wireless
04:35 deshipu cloud
04:36 Veverak hmm, maybe infrared could be used? :)
04:36 Jak_o_Shadows I'd go wireless.
04:36 Jak_o_Shadows Or look to move my sensors to non-rotating
04:36 Jak_o_Shadows or do I really need it continously rotating.
04:36 Jak_o_Shadows I'd onlyu use a slip ring for power I think.
04:37 Veverak hmm
04:37 Veverak are thre slip rings that use liquit inside ?
04:37 verak always asked himself, if liquid based woudln't be more effec
04:38 deshipu some of them use wd40, but not for the actual conducting
04:55 Veverak hmm, slip ring
04:55 verak looks at his 3 pri
04:55 Veverak nah, bullshit
10:54 armyofevilrobots rue_shop3: http://seacans.com/
10:54 armyofevilrobots We should team order.
13:15 rue_more indeed!
13:15 rue_more part of my problem is that I dont know if I want PLA of ABS
13:16 rue_more Tom_itx,
13:21 rue_more http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:608167
13:21 rue_more check out the dxf
13:21 rue_more I used a side prifile thats rotary extruded, and a topography thats linear extruded
13:22 rue_more if you open up the scad file you can see its pretty simple
13:22 rue_more +- the internal cutouts
13:22 rue_more wich are just a lienar extrusion
13:46 Tom_itx nice
13:47 Tom_itx black doesn't photo worth crap
14:04 rue_more yea, and I didn't have the flash on
14:04 rue_more the stl render says most of it
14:05 Tom_itx i should have you print me some din rail mounts
14:06 Tom_itx but they need to be wider than that one
14:06 rue_more thats 1 number
14:06 rue_more how wide you want them?
14:06 Tom_itx 3.7" hole centers
14:07 rue_more ok
14:07 rue_more 1cm wide?
14:07 e_more will get tom used to metric
14:07 Tom_itx should be fine yes
14:07 rue_more ok , how many?
14:07 Tom_itx i'm not entirely sure
14:08 rue_more 94mm hole centers
14:08 Tom_itx 2 for the common blocks
14:08 Tom_itx i'm gonna order some eventually
14:09 rue_more we can make them custom
14:09 Tom_itx http://store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=common+block&product_id=230
14:09 rue_more shall I make you 2 up, I should be in the shop a bit later
14:09 Tom_itx to hold those
14:10 Tom_itx they may need one support block in the center besides the 2 screw mounts
14:10 rue_more you pushing that hard on 'em?
14:11 Tom_itx no pushing that i know of except to tighten the wire nuts
14:11 Tom_itx i started to draw them but got distracted
14:11 rue_more heh
14:12 Tom_itx http://store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=din&product_id=229
14:12 Tom_itx gonna get some of those too
14:13 Tom_itx i'd like to try some terminal blocks but i'm not sure what type yet
14:13 rue_more ok I'm gonna grab a nap
14:13 Tom_itx you can't make those anyway
14:13 Tom_itx just did
14:13 Tom_itx worked this AM
14:17 armyofevilrobots rue_more: You want PLA for most stuff. ABS is stinky and warpy. You _have_ to have a heated bed to use it.
14:17 Tom_itx tea helped wake me back up
14:18 Tom_itx is that due to the warpage?
14:18 Tom_itx shrinkage...
14:49 armyofevilrobots Tom_itx: Yeah, and the smell. ABS is a bit toxic when extruded. That said, I prefer either PETT or taulman bridge (if you can find it).
16:29 rue_shop3 well, maybe I should just get new colours in pla then
16:29 rue_shop3 red and blue
16:29 rue_shop3 when do you want to puttogethor an order?
16:30 Tom_itx pink
16:30 Tom_itx orange
16:30 Tom_itx purple
16:30 Tom_itx glow in the dark
16:30 rue_shop3 primaries will do me ok
16:30 rue_shop3 I'll get fancy later
16:30 Tom_itx yeah then you can mix em
16:30 Tom_itx ;)
16:33 deshipu cmyk
16:33 deshipu primaries are for light
16:34 deshipu you want the complementary colors
16:50 rue_shop3 huh
16:50 rue_shop3 armyofevilrobots, didn't you say the software always makes edges .25mm small?
16:51 rue_shop3 my test ring is the right size outside, but the inside is .5mm small
16:56 Veverak not really always?
16:57 Veverak rue_shop3: if 3d printed and made by scad model... $fn should be 2x the radius I think
16:57 rue_shop3 the scale is right, so I expected that, if anything, the inside and outside would be out
16:57 Veverak there was article about that :D
16:58 rue_shop3 I'm pretty sure its a slicing issue
16:58 rue_shop3 to do with path offset
16:58 rue_shop3 hmm
16:59 rue_shop3 I'm gonna have to think about this one
16:59 Veverak well
17:00 Veverak anyway, best result is aking your drill and ... :D :D :D
17:00 rue_shop3 kinda
17:00 Veverak modify by yourself after print...
17:00 Veverak that' why I find a thought of combining printer and CNC drill interesting
17:00 rue_shop3 lots of people are making snap togethor stuff
17:01 Veverak well
17:01 rue_shop3 I dont know if my machine is adjusted right to make them come out properly
17:01 Veverak I want to make wheels with bearings
17:01 Veverak and I sort of count that I will have to hammer-in that bearings :)
17:01 Veverak rue_shop3: use hammer big enough
17:03 Veverak rue_shop3: but anyway, tried to print test snapin pieces?
17:03 Veverak + tried the fancy e-steps calibration?
17:03 rue_shop3 Triffid_Hunter, interesting, my kit came with your bearing upgrade thing
17:04 rue_shop3 I'm gonna try one now
17:04 Veverak + are you extruding material with dia of your hot end?
17:04 rue_shop3 thats what I wanted to calibrate now
17:04 Veverak let's say you have 0.4 hotend.. so question is if you are extruding really 0.4
17:04 Veverak if temp is not proper or you are too fast afaik it will be bigger than 0.4 :)
17:04 rue_shop3 but if the tip isn't the size it thinks it is, the error should show on the inside and outside of the part
17:05 Veverak it's not about if you wrote right size for the tip
17:05 Veverak it's just if the width of maerial that comes out matches the size :)
17:05 rue_shop3 yea
17:06 rue_shop3 I made a test for that, but didn't end up gathering the results
17:06 Veverak but... I would print the test snapin pieces at first
17:06 Veverak just to know what I should solve ::)
17:07 verak can't print for week. damn i
17:07 Veverak ooor, maybe some eshops work between 24 and 31?
17:08 rue_shop3 what you out of?
17:08 Veverak temp sensor
17:08 Veverak aaaand if I want to buy one, let's buy proper one -> thermocouple
17:09 Veverak and I also want optoendstop for Z axis
17:12 rue_shop3 HAHAHAHAHA I just had a brownout and the printer is stil going ok, but if I turn on a small induction fan beside it, it stops instantly
17:13 Veverak aaaand now the heated bed question
17:13 verak found out that his heated bed doesn't heat ev
17:15 rue_shop3 is it colder where you fan blows on it?
17:15 rue_shop3 :)
17:15 Veverak not really
17:15 Veverak it's jsut thet 3 corners are 85C
17:15 Veverak and middle and fourth corner are 95C
17:15 rue_shop3 is it a pcb trace one?
17:16 Veverak pcb trace one???
17:16 rue_shop3 the red one everyone uses
17:17 rue_shop3 is it one of those?
17:17 Veverak yep
17:17 rue_shop3 mayeb the traces are getting thin in a few spots
17:17 Veverak hmm
17:17 rue_shop3 I made mine of 30 guage copper
17:17 rue_shop3 wire
17:17 verak looks at
17:17 Veverak #InLove
17:19 Veverak come on
17:19 Veverak Flatness across surface is approximately within +-0.2mm
17:19 Veverak like really?
17:19 Veverak my first layer is 0.2mm!!!!!1
17:24 rue_shop3 Triffid_Hunter, no, its not yours, its been beefed up
17:25 Veverak naaaah
17:29 Veverak 65$ usd, nah
17:30 verak have to think trought if he will force his actual heated bed to work, or buy a new
17:55 armyofevilrobots @rue_shop3: Whatever inner diameter you program is going to shrink by $nozzle_dia/2
17:56 armyofevilrobots You said you wanted red and blue pla 3.0mm?
18:02 armyofevilrobots Also, @rue_shop3, I have 2x SEMITEC NTC thermistor 100K for you.
18:08 rue_shop3 yes
18:08 rue_shop3 would you? not baby blue, deep blue :)
18:08 rue_shop3 oooo heated bed!
18:44 Tom_itx http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:199786
18:46 armyofevilrobo-1 Alright, got the new macbook online :D
18:46 armyofevilrobo-1 (new to me anyhow)
19:00 rue_shop3 Tom_itx, think I'll pass on that one, thanks
19:00 rue_shop3 DIN clips with 94mm hole centers
19:01 rue_shop3 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:608201
19:01 rue_shop3 I was just playing with that
19:01 rue_shop3 there is definitly a skill to it
19:18 armyofevilrobo-1 … I have to try that.
19:37 rue_shop3 armyofevilrobo-1, if you haven't ordered yet, I'm gonna need another black pla
19:37 rue_shop3 shall I drop by the next few days with some money or sort it out later?
19:56 armyofevilrobo-1 It’s christmas: It’s on me.
19:57 armyofevilrobo-1 and yeah, we’ll be around tomorrow if you wanna drop by. I haven’t ordered yet on the pla, will do boxing day prolly.
21:04 rue_shop3 sounds great. If you dont accept money for the pla, I'll find a way to make some magically appear in a way you wont notice, so you might as well just let me pay you :)
21:04 rue_shop3 DIN clips with 94mm hole centers
21:06 rue_shop3 hmm
21:06 rue_shop3 Tom_itx, the current spacing is 30,
21:06 rue_shop3 94 is larger than the clip
21:06 rue_shop3 would you like to just straddle them between two clips?
21:20 Tom_itx i was gonna make a 'bracket' on top of it
21:21 Tom_itx just woke up.... again
21:21 Tom_itx i'll fire up the cad and see what i can do
21:22 Tom_itx may not work out as planned but i was gonna model it
21:59 rue_bed just scribble something on papaer and send me a pic with critical dimentions
22:00 Tom_itx i nearly got it
22:00 Tom_itx i spose you're going to sleep now
22:00 rue_bed just a nap
22:00 rue_bed exhausted latley, not sure why
22:00 Tom_itx i'll post it with a jpg in your folder
22:00 Tom_itx remember where that was?
22:00 rue_bed prolly nt
22:05 Tom_itx yep i think that might do
22:27 Tom_itx rue_bed, http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/reprap/din_clip_03.jpg
22:28 Tom_itx only i think that's wrong...
22:28 Tom_itx lemme fix it
22:35 rue_shop3 Tom_itx, just a thought, what if it were mounted parpendicular to the clamp?
22:35 rue_shop3 you said you wanna do two of them, yes?
22:36 rue_shop3 Tom_itx, you will also want to have a release clip on it
22:36 Tom_itx not those!
22:36 Tom_itx i need to fix something
22:36 rue_shop3 release clip...
22:36 Tom_itx show me what the release looks like
22:36 rue_shop3 concept first
22:37 Tom_itx the outter holes are too close
22:37 rue_shop3 when you want to take that off the rail, you have to push it against the sprung side till the other side clears, if you push too hard, the sprung side breaks
22:38 Tom_itx i got that.. how did you fix it?
22:38 rue_shop3 the release clip is a thing on the sprung side that you can stick a screwdriver in to pry it away from the rail in a controlled way to get it off
22:38 rue_shop3 let me post my version...
22:38 Tom_itx a hole?
22:49 rue_shop3 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:609423
22:49 rue_shop3 THERE
22:49 rue_shop3 geesh
22:49 rue_shop3 Iv' not done a remix before
22:49 Tom_itx oh
22:50 Tom_itx i can add something there... gimme a few
22:50 Tom_itx how wide is the slot?
22:50 rue_shop3 it can be all the way thru, but its stronger if its not
22:50 rue_shop3 I suggest wider than the instrumentation driver you need for the screws
22:51 Tom_itx how big a hole for the top screws?
22:51 Tom_itx 2.5mm screw maybe?
22:51 Tom_itx 3mm? i dunno
22:51 rue_shop3 I assume your using #6 screws, so a 1/8 hole will be tight enough to thread right in
22:52 Tom_itx i think i figured 2mm holes
22:52 Tom_itx 1.5 maybe
22:53 Tom_itx now i gotta redraw the holes again
22:53 Tom_itx had to fix something
23:00 fckng_stupid i am not watching any robot movie at this time
23:05 Tom_itx rue_more
23:05 Tom_itx how wide is that boss you added? 5mm?
23:09 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/reprap/din_clip_03.jpg
23:09 Tom_itx look ok now?
23:10 Tom_itx or should i move that release pocket to be a whole wide slot?
23:10 Tom_itx will it print ok that way?
23:11 rue_shop3 :( the pleco was in intensive care, and it just died
23:12 Tom_itx the what?
23:12 rue_shop3 Tom_itx, your hole is the wrong way, you want to use it for prying out the tab
23:12 Tom_itx oh
23:12 rue_shop3 pleco, fish
23:12 Tom_itx yeah
23:12 Tom_itx i figured that out
23:12 Tom_itx why is it the wrong way?
23:12 rue_shop3 http://board.fishchannel.com/Uploads/Images/1a214577-dbc6-4811-8a57-4abd.jpg
23:13 Tom_itx sucker fish
23:13 rue_shop3 how you gonna use that hole to catch a screwdriver in there and use it like a lever to disenguage the tab?
23:13 Tom_itx i figured i'd put a screwdriver in the hole and pry
23:13 rue_shop3 you would need to pull on your hole the way you have it
23:14 Tom_itx if i pry out it should open
23:14 Tom_itx i can't see yours that well
23:14 rue_shop3 you would have to pull on that hole
23:14 rue_shop3 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:609423
23:14 Tom_itx the pull you did wouldn't work on mine since it has the rail across the top
23:14 rue_shop3 see how the hole points down to the end of the tab
23:14 Tom_itx yeah i just looked at your blue one
23:15 rue_shop3 I will make a video or how to use this and post it on youtube
23:15 Tom_itx that won't work on mine
23:15 Tom_itx i know how to use it
23:15 Tom_itx prying up should open mine i think
23:15 Tom_itx instead of out with yours
23:16 Tom_itx your hole wouldn't be accessable with the rail i added to the top
23:16 Tom_itx unless i made a hook tool
23:19 rue_more you can slip it in around the side
23:19 Tom_itx how wide is your boss then?
23:20 Tom_itx i can edit it...
23:20 Tom_itx or save it as another version
23:22 rue_more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCLnac1QsDY&feature=youtu.be
23:23 Tom_itx i'm revising
23:23 rue_more I think the sides are just 1mm wide
23:28 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/reprap/din_clip_03a.jpg
23:28 rue_more there ya go
23:28 Tom_itx files are both there
23:28 rue_more I admit, its not the easiest to get to, but its there
23:28 Tom_itx the old and new
23:29 Tom_itx one is 03 one is 03a
23:29 rue_more did you get Z the right way ?:)
23:29 Tom_itx i doubt it
23:29 Tom_itx i imported the model from stl
23:30 rue_more then its prolly ok
23:30 Tom_itx will the tabs fit under standard din rail?
23:31 rue_more I'll print ya 2?
23:31 Tom_itx it's pretty thin
23:31 Tom_itx 2 is good
23:31 Tom_itx until i verify it works
23:32 Tom_itx how much plastic does it use?
23:32 rue_more see if my reprap parts are finished printg
23:34 Tom_itx i'm gettin better at solidworks
23:35 Tom_itx wait a sec before you print it
23:37 Tom_itx meh, go ahead... i was just adding radius to the boss's
23:37 rue_shop3 well lets load it..
23:37 Tom_itx so they're smooth transition
23:39 Tom_itx i'll re'upload the file...
23:39 rue_shop3 one meter of filament
23:39 rue_shop3 thats kinda heavy
23:39 Tom_itx just a sec
23:40 rue_shop3 I'll print something else I have in the queue while I wait
23:40 rue_shop3 haha my 9x15 board holder uses 1.1m
23:41 Tom_itx ok pull those files again
23:41 Tom_itx the 03a
23:41 rue_shop3 you sure?
23:41 Tom_itx you can see the fillet's i added
23:41 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/reprap/din_clip_03a.jpg
23:42 Tom_itx i should do the 2 underneath too
23:42 rue_shop3 tell ya what,
23:42 rue_shop3 punch some plastic saving holes in the middle of that for me
23:42 Tom_itx not sure how to do that
23:42 Tom_itx oh, just thru the body?
23:42 rue_shop3 yea, I dont think it need be so solid
23:43 rue_shop3 eh?
23:46 rue_shop3 maybe then start a thingverse account! ;)
23:48 rue_shop3 will it do it?
23:49 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/reprap/din_clip_03a.jpg
23:50 Tom_itx big enough?
23:50 rue_shop3 that works
23:50 rue_shop3 is the stl posted?
23:51 Tom_itx i think so
23:52 Tom_itx was it oriented right this time?
23:53 rue_shop3 yes
23:53 Tom_itx so i need to extrude on the front plane then
23:54 rue_shop3 yea, up/front mismatch between the programs
23:55 Tom_itx how much did that save?
23:58 rue_shop3 I cant tell till the this print is done
23:58 rue_shop3 it tells me when I load it
23:58 Tom_itx oh
23:58 rue_shop3 wont be long
23:58 Tom_itx can thingiverse be private act?
23:59 rue_shop3 each person has their own account,
23:59 rue_shop3 you can choose from a variety of liscences
