00:00 orlock you burn it
00:00 orlock and it makes heat
00:00 orlock :)
00:00 rue_more burning metal makes more heat...
00:01 orlock and my most recent gas bill for about 1/4 of the previous amount since i have started doing that
00:01 orlock yes, but i dont have a ready supply of combustible metals and suiable oxidisers
00:01 rue_more magnesium...
00:02 rue_more sodium
00:03 GuShH rue_more: bah I'll share then.. I needed a reducer/adapter for a hydroblasting kit I got, they sent me the wrong one and after calling every store I knew, nobody carried them so I just went ahead and made one -- random dimensions, random stock. top one. http://i.imgur.com/40NPmJ7.jpg
00:04 rue_more nice
00:04 GuShH one side is 19tpi (forgot the size) and the other is M14x1.5
00:04 rue_more I made an air hose fitting
00:04 GuShH this needed that flange and the proper thread, for the 3000 psi hose...
00:04 GuShH the one they sent me would never work
00:05 rue_more I can tell
00:07 ShH shakes
00:09 rue_more oops, I forgot to ack my aliexpress packages
00:09 rue_more I know what happened, they usually come registered
00:09 rue_more thats how I remmeber
00:09 rue_more huh
00:10 rue_more I think chinas shipping went for a ****
00:11 rue_more gnght
00:16 RifRaf get printer going tomorrow
00:16 Jak_o_Shadows OctoPrint seems cool
00:16 RifRaf some ppl seem to like it
00:17 Jak_o_Shadows I plan on having the printer in the shed, so the webcam bit is cool
00:17 RifRaf maybe, i just hooked up a webcam without it
00:18 RifRaf best to have printer with you till you know you can trust it alot before leaving it unnatended
00:19 Jak_o_Shadows oh yeah, I won't have room in the shed for a good while
00:19 RifRaf and you are making a frame that will be great kindling to get a fire going
00:19 orlock every time i clear some space in mine
00:19 orlock its decided we need more furniture
00:19 orlock or new furniture
00:19 orlock or less furniture
00:19 orlock and it ends up in the shed
00:20 Jak_o_Shadows I'm hoping to get a new shed soon. I'll have 2 workbenches, and more storage space for the old shed
00:20 Jak_o_Shadows gonna be fun moving stuff though
00:20 orlock theres a massive desk, 2 coffee tables, a large recliner and a large "entertainment unit", another set of drawers..
00:21 RifRaf i miss a shed
00:21 orlock love mine
00:21 orlock especially since i can get the door open and closed easily now
00:21 orlock had to grund and chisel away a big planter box it was jamming against
00:22 orlock 3x6m workshop downstairs, 6x6m double garage upstairs
00:22 orlock with crayfish living underneath the workshop portion apparently
00:23 orlock fucking CRAYFISH living on a mountainside!
00:28 RifRaf eat them
09:00 ShH nudges Tom
09:04 GuShH FreezingCold: your nick sure fits the current US weather!
09:21 rue_more http://mikeg.tv/spot/ebay-it-has-it-all/
09:21 rue_more heh
09:23 FreezingCold GuShH: it actually just snowed where I live today
09:27 GuShH FreezingCold: is that good or bad?
09:28 FreezingCold bad
09:28 GuShH I'ma bust rue_more for the pulley pics until they become real
09:28 FreezingCold bad bad
16:35 AriaTheTransgres Im looking for a good tutorial to start. I guess with atduino boards.
16:35 AriaTheTransgres Arduino*
16:39 Aria2 Ok, was just messing with settings. Still looking for good tutorials
16:45 SquirrelCZECH can anybody help me?
16:45 SquirrelCZECH http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20993__TrackStar_1_18th_Scale_14T_Brushless_power_System_4300kv_.html
16:45 SquirrelCZECH How can I deduce the torque or torque-like parametr from params therE?
16:45 uirrelCZECH got weight of model he needs to powerup and .... want to calculate if this set would be able to mov
17:01 SquirrelCZECH hmm
17:30 SquirrelCZECH naaah
17:30 SquirrelCZECH it's hard to find cheap motors for project :/
17:33 deshipu once I bought a whole box of old dildos
17:33 deshipu just for the motors
17:45 SquirrelCZECH loool
17:45 SquirrelCZECH not sure if ideal for 3kg rover
17:45 SquirrelCZECH nah :/
17:55 deshipu I imagine there are models of higher power for more... demanding customers
18:00 SquirrelCZECH yeah
18:00 SquirrelCZECH friend of mine got eshop with that
18:00 SquirrelCZECH double-motors are hit
18:08 GuShH deshipu: wat
18:42 SquirrelCZECH hmm
18:42 uirrelCZECH got system that was reported as OK for 700g weh
18:42 SquirrelCZECH mine should be 3000g
18:42 SquirrelCZECH maybe I will scale it down
18:43 SquirrelCZECH yeah, that sounds legit :)
18:43 SquirrelCZECH yeah, other way around
18:43 SquirrelCZECH pick motor + esc, quess the vehicle size (whcih can be made by comments and what models it was installed in)
18:43 SquirrelCZECH or more like vehicle weight
18:44 SquirrelCZECH than design that vehicle
18:52 deshipu sounds like a plan
18:58 SquirrelCZECH and
18:58 SquirrelCZECH first problem:
18:59 SquirrelCZECH don't pick sets
18:59 SquirrelCZECH make your own set
19:01 SquirrelCZECH second problem: I have to make gears to gear it properly :/
19:01 SquirrelCZECH btw: any tips where to get some good ones?
19:01 SquirrelCZECH 3d printed is maybe not best idea
19:04 deshipu SquirrelCZECH: http://lcamtuf.coredump.cx/gcnc/
19:05 SquirrelCZECH deshipu: cnc?
19:06 deshipu SquirrelCZECH: not only, chapter 6 has some good tips on gear shapes
19:07 SquirrelCZECH oh
19:07 SquirrelCZECH I want to buy them, not create them
19:26 deshipu this is awesome, especially skin protection section: http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/MSDS/MSDS/PrintMSDSAction.do?name=msdspdf_1411324190240644
19:37 deshipu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sVM2hKFsmA
19:51 rue_more hey
19:53 deshipu I think I just fried a vocore
20:03 GuShH hmm quite impressed, most of the festo control stuff from those lathes were from the 1970s and they still all work fine
20:04 GuShH not sure on the cylinders, they seem "diy" but they were probably either shop made or made commercially but by a small manufacturer, since I can't find markings but they are very well made, some have brass cylinders.
20:04 GuShH rue_more: thoughts? :p
20:11 rue_more meh
20:14 ShH fr
20:36 Tom_itx rue_more how's your lump of goo going?
21:19 rue_more I fell asleep
21:19 rue_more dont want to work on lump melters
21:24 RifRaf melting lumps into pretty things here
21:28 RifRaf http://i.imgur.com/DwhhvkA.jpg
21:38 rue_shop2 I can tell the smell of a hot transformer somewhere in the shop, but I cant locate it
21:38 rue_shop2 I think I'm gonna stuff the reprap in a corner for a while
21:38 rue_shop2 I want to work on my power supply more
21:40 RifRaf but you werte so close
21:41 rue_shop2 I might make a .5mm tip, I think the tip was part of the problem set
21:41 rue_shop2 dunno how I'm gonna clean out the mess in there now
21:53 rue_shop2 huh, current sense pcb dosn't work
21:53 rue_shop2 can I just wait out a bad luck spell?
21:54 rue_shop2 ever had one of those days where everything blows up to the point you know that if you touch something thats perfectly fine it'll fail just cause you touched it on that day?
22:09 rue_shop2 it works, I forgot to common two supplies
22:20 rue_shop2 ok, now I can make the power supply do current regulation
22:26 RifRaf rue_shop2, got any ethyl acetate?
22:26 rue_more no.... can I even get that in canada?
22:26 RifRaf dunno, but it apparently disolves PLA
22:27 RifRaf how did you already get all clogged up? can i see?
22:31 rue_more ah, hmm, maybe I'll take pics tommorow
22:31 rue_more its more the problem of getting it all apart
22:31 rue_more remmeber the carrige warped
22:45 RifRaf no how? wold still takes hours even for pla, what did you do?
23:02 rue_more I think the fan for the tip was more required than I gave it credit for
23:05 rue_more hmm I wonder what gate voltage has the irf4905 fully on
23:05 rue_more wonder if 5V is enough
23:06 rue_more hmm I suppose
23:06 rue_more wonder what the transconductance is...
23:06 xingped question: will you run into any kind of problems if you try to physically move the shaft of (or whatever is connected to) a servo motor?
23:07 rue_more 21
23:07 orlock i've done it plenty of times
23:07 rue_more xingped, not unless you force it too hard and strip the gears
23:07 orlock but i guess it depends on the quality of the electronics?
23:07 xingped new to robotics, but i'm thinking of trying to make a small thing that "balances" and tries to autocorrect if it's pushed out of a balanced position
23:07 orlock rue: no chance of generating power and nuking the electronics?
23:08 rue_more hah, ok, if the transconductance is 21, what votlage results in a resistance of .1 ohms
23:08 orlock xingped: inverted pendelum is what you are after then
23:08 orlock xingped: http://hackaday.com/?s=inverted+pendulum
23:09 xingped orlock, hm, okay, cool, thanks
23:09 rue_more oh yea, iout/vin
23:09 rue_more so, 5A out
23:09 rue_more vin = 5/21
23:09 xingped oh man i haven't looked at hackaday in ages
23:09 xingped the memories
23:09 xingped lol
23:09 rue_more .23V, not likley
23:10 rue_more 4.5V
23:11 rue_more that works
23:12 rue_more hmm whats the max wattage on a pm2222
23:12 rue_more oo 1.5W
23:13 rue_more 5mA
23:13 rue_more 25V
23:13 rue_more .125W
23:13 rue_more sweeet
23:15 rue_more oh its only 2.5mA, sweeeter
23:52 rue_more Greensand recipe:
23:52 rue_more 100 lbs sand
23:52 rue_more 12 lbs powdered bentonite
23:52 rue_more I have a whole bunch of ground bentonite ready
23:52 rue_more I shoudl be able to double the greensand supply
