01:07 rue_shop2 14c out
01:07 rue_shop2 playing with the sand blaster
01:07 rue_shop2 put some led lights in it
01:07 rue_shop2 helps a lot
01:08 rue_shop2 it eats sand
01:08 rue_shop2 did you know sand blasters did that?
01:08 rue_shop2 It never occured to me that so much of the sand would break up
02:05 rue_house I'm gonna code soemting
02:06 rue_house I dont know what tho
02:06 rue_house maybe if I close my eyes while I'm doing it I can open them after and be surprised
02:09 muniza Its interesting that the arduino ide is still getting updated to work with newer devices
02:10 muniza the atxmegas and even the 32bit atmels IIRC
02:31 deshipu they have a lively community
03:28 rue_house wow, I just found out some relays I have kicking around in the bottom of a box in the shop are worth $150 on ebay
03:35 Tom_itx are they worth more than that in your shop?
03:36 rue_house meh
03:39 Tom_itx so what you workin on?
03:40 rue_house automation for my room lights so I dont have to get up to turn them off
03:40 Tom_itx X10
03:41 Tom_itx you'd better figure out your lathe problem
03:41 Tom_itx it shouldn't have a problem yet
03:41 Tom_itx it's too young
03:42 rue_house its going
03:42 rue_house there must be a nub on a thread for the cross slide
03:42 rue_house it'll wear in
03:43 Tom_itx maybe shavings crammed in there
03:43 Tom_itx i've had to clean out my 4jaw several times
03:43 rue_house I think it was smaller than that, but yea
03:44 rue_house I tried all the oil+compressed air I could at it
03:44 rue_house even running a sharpened paperclip around the inside of the nut
03:47 Tom_itx yay.. parts are in town
03:47 Tom_itx won't be here til late today though
03:53 Tom_itx i see rif moved again
03:57 rue_house huh
04:11 rue_house ok
04:12 rue_house I dissected a 2 way decora lightswitch and I know now how they differently assemble a $3 3 way switch to make a $45 3 way momentary switch for low voltage lighting controls
04:13 rue_house it involves removing one spring and adding two other springs
04:13 rue_house yay for universal designs
04:15 rue_house modified switch, then add one of the $50 latching relays (kicking around in a box in my shop) a small 24V AC transformer, 4 diodes
04:22 rue_house hmm, they use the same back end for the toggle swtiches, I wonder if I can do it with one of them instead
05:07 rue_house ./eq "0x15+7(ResultBase=16)"
05:07 rue_house 0x15+7(ResultBase=16) -->> 0x1C
05:07 rue_house YES!
10:54 rue_bed-aok wow
10:54 rue_bed-aok thunder in the morning
11:25 deshipu too much cabbage
11:40 rue_house I'll pass that on to zeus
11:47 rue_house the yard drainage was not really desgined for the amount of water its been taking on
11:56 skyler54 is it possible to measure the distance of an object without a focal length?
11:56 skyler54 cause i want to do this in webots (simulated)
11:57 skyler54 the only thing i know is the size/height of the object
12:29 rue_house skyler54, what?
12:37 rue_house zippo:/files/programming/c/Equation/eqv4# ./eq "10000(ResultBase=16)"
12:37 rue_house 10000(ResultBase=16) -->> 0x2710
12:37 rue_house I got the equation parser set up with definable output base!
12:48 Steffanx skyler54, people here aren't much into machine vision and stuff ;)
12:55 rue_house its simulated he said, what does focal length have to do with emulation?
12:55 rue_house pixel ratio?
12:56 rue_house I need a function to generate a binary string for a number, and I'm sure I"v done this before, somewhere
13:25 rue_house ugh, power outage
13:34 rue_house I suppose I'll find out how this ups likes the genorator
13:47 rue_house I wonder what happened with my genorator gas level detector project
19:39 rue_house yaya, my pulley blanks look like they came out really well
20:19 Tom_itx so did mine
20:20 Tom_itx pics in a bit
20:20 Tom_itx not quite done
20:32 Tom_shop max rpm around 5200 rpm so the calculations were pretty close
20:46 rue_house cool
20:46 rue_house I'm sidegrading the blower on the boiler from chain to belt
20:47 rue_house the chain was always too noisy
20:47 rue_house but I didn't ahve belt stuff to switch over
20:47 rue_house now I have the pullies half made, I'll go find a belt at the store tommorow
20:48 rue_house finish the pullies to fit the belts
20:49 Tom_shop going in in a bit to upload the pics
20:50 rue_house is it what you wanted?
20:50 Tom_shop yep
20:50 rue_house was the goal more rpm, I cant remmeber
20:50 Tom_shop i think the motor needs new bearings though. it's starting to get a bit noisy
20:50 Tom_shop no
20:51 Tom_shop i kept wearing out belts
20:51 rue_house ah
20:51 Tom_shop so far this works much better
20:51 Tom_shop the 9mm belt was about perfect
20:51 Tom_shop i probably could have gotten by with 6mm
20:51 Tom_shop should last longer
20:52 Tom_shop i got a spare while i was at it
20:56 rue_house ok, I'm gonna veggitate a min
21:02 Tom_itx pics in a bit
22:01 Tom_itx rue_house, http://tom-itx.ddns01.com:81/~webpage/cnc/new_pulleys/timing_pulley_index.php
22:06 rue_house how come that pulley dosn't look centered?
22:06 rue_house ont eh shaft
22:07 Tom_itx ?
22:07 Tom_itx i had to move it down for clearance
22:07 Tom_itx the spindle one
22:14 Red_Onyx http://learn.parallax.com/ShieldRobot
22:14 Red_Onyx that looks interesting
