00:03 rue_house A is the base, B is the elbow, C is the wrist
00:03 rue_house with all servos at zero A = (0,0,0) B = (0,0,10), C = (10, 0, 10)
00:04 rue_house there are 5 servos
00:04 rue_house but only count for this
00:05 rue_house axis 1, axis 2, axis 3
00:05 rue_house axis 1 rotates everything...
00:06 rue_house axis 1 rotates everything around the Z axis
00:06 rue_house axis 2 rotates everything around the ....
00:07 rue_house http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/images/armaxes.png
00:07 rue_house axis 2 rotates everything around the Y axis
00:07 rue_house axis 3 rotates the upper arm around the Y axis
00:08 rue_house ok, we work backwards
00:08 rue_house - set C to 10, 0, 0
00:09 rue_house - rotate C around axis 3
00:09 rue_house - tranalate C by 0, 0, 10
00:09 rue_house - rotate everything around axis 2
00:10 rue_house - rotate everything around axis 1
00:10 rue_house done
00:13 rue_house I need more time
00:13 rue_house thats only like 5 lines of code and I dont have time to code it
00:13 rue_house gnight!
05:10 TELunus Rue_house without 6 dof you can't fully orient and position in 3D.
08:50 rue_bed-aok yup, right now I'm just getting the wrist to the xyz point
08:50 rue_bed-aok not worrying about being at the right vector when I'm there
09:20 rue_house but I was thinking about it,a nd thats not hard to do either
09:21 rue_house if you know the vector you want, you know where the wrist needs to be to get there, so its solved
09:21 rue_house in more or less words
09:35 rue_house for the 5 axis, you just have to work with the extra contraint
09:35 rue_house it turns out the cable drive thing is gonna help a lot, still learning tho
19:23 rue_house well?
19:25 rue_house "no, YOU hold the extinguisher, I'LL be the one on fire!"
19:25 rue_house my boss actually said that to me once
19:26 rue_house ok lets see
19:26 rue_house a) sleep
19:27 rue_house b) take stuff on deck apart
19:27 rue_house c) put up christmas lights
19:27 rue_house d) work on robot arm
19:27 rue_house e) fire up boiler
19:28 rue_house I should jsut get the christmas lights out and ready
19:28 Tom_itx CHRISTMAS!!!
19:29 Tom_itx you haven't carved a pumpkin yet!!
19:29 rue_house its a nice time of year (unlike december) to just *put* them up
19:30 Guest45186 Hey, I was told by Rue_mohr that you guys would be able to help me on a project
19:30 rue_house is it a mecha
19:30 rue_house ?
19:30 Tom_itx rue_mohr?
19:30 Tom_itx who is that?
19:30 e_house raises
19:30 e_bed-aok raises
19:31 m_itx thinks rue_house looks more like a house than a
19:31 rue_house pff
19:31 e_house nudges rue_sh
19:31 e_house nudges rue_sh
19:31 Tom_itx ok at least my stuff shipped
19:32 rue_house I hope you didn't ship via china
19:32 Guest45186 I chated with him on Hackaday.com~ Im the one working on the Land mate
19:32 rue_house oh I still ahve to look that up
19:32 Tom_itx i think they overcharded me on shipping though
19:32 Tom_itx probably all the boxes i got
19:32 Tom_itx DK
19:33 rue_house Guest45186, are you doing a get-in mecha??
19:33 rue_house thats kinda dangerous ya know
19:33 orlock fuck hayfever
19:33 Tom_itx is that why you're doing it?
19:34 rue_house Guest45186, can you throw a google image link of more exactly what your thinking?
19:34 orlock I have a few "serial converters" of some sort that i grabbed from my old work
19:34 Guest45186 Type in "Appleseed alpha" thats what im working on and yes I know the risk, and im willing to take it
19:34 rue_house Guest45186, so what do/have you made?
19:35 Guest45186 The skeleton,
19:36 rue_house http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/Hellequin/Landmate.jpg
19:36 rue_house ?
19:36 rue_house that ish?
19:36 orlock TTL voltage level on an adaptor with a max232 or similar will depend on whatever i feed it, right?
19:37 rue_house orlock, yea, its like x3-4V
19:37 orlock so i should be able to use the same adaptor to talk to a 5v device as well as a 3.3v device as long as i feed it the correct vcc voltage?
19:37 Guest45186 http://subeme.net/images/2014/07/14/4lbg1E.jpg
19:37 Guest45186 More like this~
19:37 rue_house huh, that looks likea robot in a robot, anyhow
19:37 orlock i failed to get my wireless chip talking, but i was trying to drive it striaght from an arduino, i will try talking to it directly tonight
19:38 Guest45186 http://i.imgur.com/N0sA74o.jpg
19:38 rue_house Guest45186, so you started a frame?
19:40 Guest45186 yes,
19:40 rue_house you were interested in the pneumatic mulsces I did, do you want to power it with those?
19:42 rue_house I'm just getting into the wonder of cable drives, it seems that cables rule over belts and pullies and gears
19:42 rue_house you can do waaaay more
19:42 rue_house but I'm just getting into it
19:43 Guest45186 Yes, I learned that "air muscles" are small but strong as hell~
19:43 rue_house that they are
19:43 rue_house light and really easy to pack into spaces too
19:43 rue_house BUT
19:43 Tom_itx where you gettin your cable?
19:43 rue_house you need room somewhere for an air source and a bank of usually-expensive valves
19:43 rue_house I'm using that tiger tail
19:44 rue_house I should go work on that arm more before I fall sleep in this chair
19:44 rue_house which I dont want to do, I wake up numb as all ****
19:45 Tom_itx get a more comfortable chair
19:45 rue_house its fine, I just must not fall asleep in it
19:46 Tom_itx loosten the arms on it
19:46 Tom_itx so you fall out if you lean too hard
19:46 rue_house suddenly I want a lab coat, are there lab caots that are lathe-safe?
19:47 Tom_itx leather
19:47 rue_house Guest45186, can you show us what you have so far?
19:48 rue_shop2 I suppose tear-away clothing could be a mixed blessing
19:48 rue_shop2 "the sleeve caught in the lathe, I'm ok, but everyone else in the room is scared for life"
19:49 Guest45186 I take some pics but it will have to wait till tomorrow,
19:49 rue_shop2 ok
19:49 rue_shop2 what country you in?
19:50 rue_shop2 the translation delay is killing me
19:51 rue_shop2 вы говорите на русском языке
19:52 Guest45186 rue_shop2, Me?
19:52 rue_shop2 sprechen Sie Deutsch?
19:52 rue_shop2 yea
19:52 rue_shop2 d0 u sp33k l33t g33k?
19:52 Guest45186 America,
19:53 rue_shop2 oh
19:53 rue_shop2 at this rate I'll never get my secrets to the russians
19:53 Tom_itx was that a thought, a statement or a brain fart?
19:54 rue_shop2 a newyears resolution
19:54 rue_shop2 oh well
19:54 Tom_itx you gotta hang christmas lights before newyears!
19:54 Guest45186 Chuckle,
19:56 rue_shop2 Guest45186, I look forward to hearing more from you
19:58 Guest45186 Rue_shop2, same here
20:02 Guest45186 I was think about using SMC VQ100 for my machine, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEMHfzCTQ_s (would wiring it to a potentiometer work for controlling the muscle when connected to the limb of the mech?)
20:03 rue_shop2 I'm using pots on mine, but I'm using redundant ones
20:03 rue_shop2 did you see my setup close?
20:04 Guest45186 No, can you give a link so I can?
20:04 rue_shop2 http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/sparrow1/p1040018.jpg <- size test, hehe
20:04 rue_shop2 http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/sparrow1/p1040015.jpg
20:04 rue_shop2 laying down, its not that big
20:05 rue_shop2 http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/sparrow1/p1030525-valvetest.jpg
20:05 rue_shop2 hmm
20:05 rue_shop2 not finding good images
20:05 rue_shop2 http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/sparrow1/p1030901.jpg <- hand is pretty good size, still, kinda small peices
20:06 Guest45186 Their still helpful, thank you
20:07 rue_shop2 the frame pipe I'm going to use is the same size, but its steel
20:07 rue_shop2 this is odd, looks like I didn't post any info on the air muscles, I can do that tonight, I think
20:08 Guest45186 Are you making a TAG?
20:09 Guest45186 That would be helpful, info on the air muscles I mean
20:12 rue_shop2 tag?
20:12 rue_shop2 my mecha will be remote controlle
20:12 rue_shop2 d
20:12 rue_shop2 I dont plan to be in it
20:12 rue_shop2 tho it would fix any latency issues
20:14 Guest45186 Tactical Armored Gear, get- in mech
20:14 Guest45186 And yeah it may
20:16 Guest45186 Thats is why I am making mine how it is or will be~
20:17 rue_shop2 no, I'm building a utility mecha
20:17 rue_shop2 cleaning windows, gutters, putting up streetlights, moving things that are large but not neccissarily heavy around the yard
20:17 Tom_itx like your pickup?
20:18 rue_shop2 dont be silly, I cant clean the gutters with my pickup truck
20:18 Tom_itx a hose with an extension will do that
20:18 rue_shop2 }:| so will a 12' mecha
20:19 Guest45186 Im building all purpose, I own some land but I also like to play airsoft time to time
20:19 rue_shop2 and MOST important, the mecha can hold up the house number at the end of the driveway when its not doing anything else
20:19 Tom_itx it _could_ collect the mail from the mailman too
20:20 Tom_itx or you may get alot less mail
20:20 Guest45186 Chuckle, sounds like you got it all worked out
20:20 Tom_itx he has conquering the world worked out
20:24 rue_shop2 arm9 is looing pretty good
20:24 rue_shop2 looking
20:26 Guest91991 Hey Rue_shop2
20:26 Guest91991 Shit I signed up what the hell
20:30 rue_shop2 ?
20:31 rue_shop2 you need to log in
20:33 Wolf-land Rue_shop2, i sighed up
20:34 rue_shop2 then you need to sign in and identify
20:34 rue_shop2 so just /msg nickserv identify password
20:35 rue_shop2 if its giving you grief
20:35 Wolf-land I did that
20:35 rue_shop2 ok
20:35 rue_shop2 so you should be good
20:35 Wolf-land Yeah I think so,
20:36 rue_shop2 so can you throw me some information on what your up to?
20:36 rue_shop2 I'm busy building my 4th(?) 36hr robot arm
20:37 rue_shop2 but then I have like 7 printers on the deck I need to strip for parts
20:37 rue_shop2 the hospital has been supplying them faster than I'm consuming them
20:39 Wolf-land Chuckle, alright I just started work on it I have a frame made up ( no pics yet) but my end goal looks like this http://subeme.net/images/2014/07/14/4lbg1E.jpg
20:41 rue_shop2 ok
20:41 rue_shop2 oh here
20:41 rue_shop2 http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/
20:42 rue_shop2 if you want, page thru that and see if anything gives you ideas
20:43 Wolf-land It will, thank you
20:51 jadew that thing looks like it could take over a city
20:59 Wolf-land Jadew, the TAG?
21:00 jadew the one you posted
21:02 Wolf-land Jadew, nah but im sure it will do good on a airsoft field
21:05 Wolf-land Btw, that is why I am here the reason why there is only the frame is because I do not know if there is a "simple" way of controlling air muscles with pots
21:18 Wolf-land Rue_shop2, This is very helpful, thank you
21:56 rue_house http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/arm5/p1030863.jpg
21:56 rue_house arm5 uses a variety of potentiometers to detect the positions
21:57 rue_house I can see it would help if I took some closeups
22:01 Hyratel or took in a larger resolution
22:03 rue_shop2 I reduce them for the website
22:27 Wolf-land https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEMHfzCTQ_s
22:28 Wolf-land I was thiking more along the lines of this,
22:28 rue_house yes, arm5 isn't pneumatic
22:29 rue_house otherwise, YAY, I'm not the only one who figured out pulse control
22:29 rue_house I wonder what valve that is
22:30 Wolf-land SMC VQ100
22:35 rue_house oh, thats the valve or the valve controller?
22:39 rue_house from what I can tell, those are min $17ea
22:39 rue_house thats $16ea too high for me
22:39 Wolf-land The SMC VQ100 is the valve
22:41 rue_house yup
22:49 Wolf-land I was thinking this valve would be most effective for my mecha,
22:49 rue_house I'm using valves from washing machines, they are free
22:49 rue_house but they might have a problem with impact, I'm not sure yet
22:53 Wolf-land Were did you get wash machine valves for free?
22:57 rue_house washing mahcines int eh disposal places
23:00 Wolf-land Ah, got it
23:03 rue_house oh sorry i have bad timing on the space bar
23:06 Wolf-land I get what your saying
23:08 rue_house my budget is $240
23:08 rue_house its the biggest budget for a robot I'v ever had
23:15 Wolf-land You most be very proud and exited.
23:15 rue_house I have lots of projects that distract me
