04:06 rue_shop2 need to make a foot pedal for my tig welder
04:07 rue_shop2 the scratch start system just destroys the tip before you have a chance to get an arc going
10:10 Hyratel http://store.steampowered.com/app/220200/ last chance, KSP for $16 on Steam Summer Sale
10:11 akish doesn't have window
10:11 Hyratel it's not windows only
10:11 Hyratel Win/Lin/Mac
10:11 esakish Ah, works on linux too
10:31 MrCurious whoa... sick http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en
11:35 rue_bed I finished the opto isolator for the serial line of my power supply
11:35 rue_bed the 6n137 worked great
11:35 rue_bed I think I can use them for level shifting the pwm
17:19 rue_mohr2 took my bike into town, picked up files, and belts
17:20 rue_mohr2 put a god belt on the electric tiller
17:20 rue_mohr2 good even
17:20 deshipu rue_mohr2: what are you filing?
17:21 deshipu \/polishing
17:21 rue_mohr2 the 1/8" round file was broken, working out where I got it from took some work
17:22 deshipu I just connected my gyro sensor via i2c and actually got some readings from it
17:22 rue_mohr2 good ones or just noise?
17:23 SlaveToTheSauce probably both
17:23 rue_mohr2 I bought some of those little current sensr baords, the noise is 3x the signal
17:24 deshipu rue_mohr2: looks legit
17:25 deshipu rue_mohr2: about 1g acceleration downward, and resonable angles
17:25 deshipu reasonable
17:26 deshipu rue_mohr2: current sensor? as in electromagnetic field sensor, or water current?
17:27 SlaveToTheSauce those little hall effect ones?
17:29 deshipu maybe they get noise from the electronics they are connected to :/
17:41 rue_mohr2 the chips say that you need to connect a 10uF capacitor filter on them and they have like a 1.5s settling time
17:42 SlaveToTheSauce sounds like you should have an active filter right on the output
17:42 rue_mohr2 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/5A-ACS712-Module-range-Current-Sensor-Module-/131228650483
17:42 rue_mohr2 those baords
17:47 Tom_itx rue_mohr2 what are you getting done lately?
18:55 Ademan I know most people use servos, but how do people usually join DC motor shafts to other things when they don't have flats? Epoxy?
18:55 Hyratel or pressfit
18:56 Hyratel generally if you're using a hobby motor the torque will be low enough that a pressfit won't slip
18:58 SlaveToTheSauce or grind a flat
18:59 SlaveToTheSauce if it's a metal gear the bore can be a tiny bit smaller than the shaft and then you heat it up so that it fits when expanded
19:24 Tom_itx Ademan, grind a flat and use a coupler?
19:50 MrCurious1 toronto mayor Rob Ford is out of rehab and can't wait to get crackin on the job of Mayor
20:12 Tom_itx har har
20:14 MrCurious1 i wish i could have come up with better, but thats all i could swing
22:25 MrCurious1 so you want to play with superglue.... play with mold release agent first :)
