01:11 just_corey greets to all
01:35 robopal hi
01:50 just_corey what you up to tonight, im cutting a cpl hole in a phat 360
02:11 rue_more hey
02:11 rue_more didn't see ya
02:11 rue_more just_corey, we went to the maker faire today
02:11 rue_more lots of new models of things at the 3d printer tables
02:14 just_corey i bet
02:14 just_corey i was saying to my dad if only i had 30seconds on a laser cutter this project would be really easy
02:17 just_corey im doing one of these http://tinyurl.com/nuhuwxe
02:18 rue_more http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Digital-Display-Flowmeter-Quantitative-Controller-LCD-Water-Liquid-Flow-Sensor-/350846088246
02:18 just_corey dremel made pretty quick work of the rough cut, now just sanding
02:18 rue_more it has a pun button!
02:18 rue_more heh
02:19 rue_more I guess it toggles, if the puns are too bad it'll stop them
02:20 just_corey you can stop the puns if they are too much
02:22 just_corey need to obtain some ram
02:22 rue_more I do?
02:22 just_corey i do
02:22 just_corey ddr 3 i think
02:23 just_corey only have 1g for my 'new' pc
02:24 rue_more hmm dont know how much ddr3 I have
02:24 just_corey food for thought, i wold ever *gasp* do some work or something
02:25 just_corey be nice if i knew of someplaces in vancouver full of 5-6 year old hardware that needed a good home
02:26 just_corey should i sand plastic in my living room, sounds like the neibour drunks are on the lawn out front
02:27 just_corey need to build a sweep/mop bot
02:28 just_corey with a little docking station that automaticly changes the attachment between vac or scrubber
02:29 just_corey i can be my million $ kickstarter
02:29 just_corey i can sell it to facebook for 2 billion
02:33 just_corey yay sanding plastic in y living room, women hate it when you do stuff like this..lol
03:11 rue_more heh
03:15 just_corey i thought you had gone to bed
03:19 rue_more I'm close
03:21 just_corey im waiting on rice appearently
03:22 just_corey i need that arm of chris's for my kitchen
03:22 just_corey might fall through the floor
03:29 rue_more :)
03:29 rue_more gnight
07:25 ioanm can someone help me with a problem?
07:25 ioanm I've got an asuro robot
07:47 icc .
08:30 GuShH rue_more: ?
08:57 GuShH http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/85/One-hundred,_ninty-three_pound_nut_and_bolt,_one_of_16_used_to_join_sections_of_the_generator_shaft_of_a_75,000_kW_generator_-_Grand_Coulee_Dam,_1942.jpg
09:04 GuShH rue_more: I think I'm going to flood lubricate the ways, if the bed is level it should work, noticed the grooves?
09:04 GuShH could drip from the headstock and right onto the ways
09:05 GuShH ie. headstock bearings, two nozzles inside
09:05 GuShH but I don't know whether to use small copper tubing or clear hose
09:05 GuShH ...or both
09:07 GuShH could also take the existing oiling ports and using a manifold distribute the oil that way
09:07 GuShH bigger production lathes had forced oil on ways, carriage, headstock, etc
09:07 GuShH cleared chips and kept it all nice and lubed
10:21 GuShH rue_bed: !! look at the toolpost http://rcc.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/projects/lathe/photo/lathe_11_mini.jpg so cute it makes you want to hug it.
10:22 GuShH looks like one of those chucks sherline uses
10:22 GuShH they're so small nobody sells them here
10:23 GuShH you can tell it was designed by someone who never used a real lathe because the most important part is the one he made the weakest.
10:24 GuShH the rest is nicely overengineered though
10:24 GuShH I doubt it's cheaper to machine all of that, plus the time and materials... vs buying a used sherline or similar
10:24 GuShH must be a whim project.
10:30 Carp that is a cute lathe xD
18:43 Hyratel1 blargh, waiting for electrolysis process is tedious. I only have a 6 amp charger and it has to be hooked up alongside a battery because it's a 'smart' type
18:43 Hyratel1 GuShH,
18:44 Hyratel1 I'm etching a lawnmower blade ot use as my anode
19:30 GuShH Hyratel1: I use rebar
19:30 GuShH cheap source of steel heh
19:58 Hyratel1 yeah but rebar is harder to clean up
20:09 GuShH Hyratel1: hm?
20:09 GuShH I don't clean up the electrodes... you can scrub them or throw them away if they're too eroded
20:09 Hyratel1 can take the scum off a flat plate with just a scraper
20:10 GuShH a big mass of wire works just as well
20:10 GuShH anything really
23:49 Hyratel1 GuShH, you there?
23:49 GuShH not sure
23:49 GuShH are you there?
23:49 ShH knocks on Hyratel1's sc
23:49 ace4016 are you ok? are you ok annie?
23:49 Hyratel1 *KTONK KTONK*
23:50 Hyratel1 was it you that I was talking about electrolytic cleaning of iron and steel?
23:52 GuShH sure
23:53 GuShH why?
23:56 Hyratel1 it's working, though my charger is using DESULFATE mode
