00:07 rue_more booo, its past bedtime, i still have to do kitty litter and have supper
00:12 blank___ What is this http://pastebin.com/9rTa4M9s
00:12 blank___ I'm pretty sure it isn't baidu
00:12 blank___ whoops wrong channel
00:22 rue_more ok CS and OE are in the right places now
00:23 rue_more I'm close to being able to read a rom
00:23 rue_more next is serial comm
00:37 rue_more ok , serial is done
00:37 rue_more hmm
00:37 rue_more this mossy rock is rolling faster than I thought
00:49 rue_more hmm, I need a rom chip...
01:03 rue_more ok I read 255 bytes of data
01:09 rue_more it speaks!, it tells me its manufacturer code 0x37!
01:09 rue_more its right!
01:19 rue_more so I can read and write to it
01:20 rue_more before I do anything crazy I'll make a program to read out all the contents
07:20 SquirrelCZECH is here somebody that used openscad for something more complicated?
07:21 GargantuaSauce how do you define complicated
07:33 SquirrelCZECH *complex
07:34 SquirrelCZECH is maybe better word
07:34 uirrelCZECH is just cur
07:52 GargantuaSauce http://workman-industries.net/images/hexapod/4dof-scad1.png
07:52 GargantuaSauce also http://workman-industries.net/images/quadrotor/3.png
08:57 SquirrelCZECH nice :)
08:59 GargantuaSauce well the latter is a failed design, but i guess it fits the 'complex' metric
13:05 MrCurious i wonder if anyone has tried making a 3d printer using paper mache
13:08 SlaveToTheSauce_ sounds messy
13:08 SlaveToTheSauce_ would be hard to control the extrusion with any sort of precision
13:14 Skwint unless you didn't need precision
13:14 Skwint because you were making something 30 feet across
13:14 Skwint and you have a little compression system for squishing it into shape after extruding it
13:16 SlaveToTheSauce_ you'd also have to dry each layer before forming the next one
13:18 SlaveToTheSauce_ and it'd contract as it dries i think?
13:18 SlaveToTheSauce_ couldn't be just open-loop control like the current fdm machines i think
14:06 MrCurious i mean make the shell of the 3d printer WITH paper mache
14:06 MrCurious as a means of reducing cost of printer fabrication
14:07 SlaveToTheSauce_ lol
15:17 Skwint heh
15:49 GuShH rue_more: have you built one of those centering jigs for stock?
15:50 GuShH it's two equally spaced pegs with a hole dead in the center, you can use them to center square or round stock, I don't see why it wouldn't work on hexagonals as well.
15:50 GuShH but the trick is, the rig has to be accurate.
15:50 GuShH rig/jig
15:51 GuShH you can see a couple wooden ones here http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gkD8RIrc7bE/UgL-zMfKS4I/AAAAAAAAIWY/W9es-MkKAHo/s1600/centering-guage-2.jpg.jpg
15:51 GuShH useless for metal working, but same idea, except you have a center punch in the middle.
15:53 GuShH self centering bases for mortising and such use the same principle
16:37 GuShH hrmm interrupted cuts on stainless steel, using hss tooling... bad idea
16:37 GuShH I went through 8 parts and the last one was barely cutting, inspected the edge... full of micro chips
16:37 GuShH just plain dull.
16:38 ShH needs some cobalt drill
17:09 m_itx spraypaints some hss bits cobalt color for G
17:33 SquirrelCZECH anybody familliar with RC 2WD Cars? (1:10)
17:33 Skwint erm ... a bit ...
17:35 SquirrelCZECH Skwint: and do you have an idea how "link" system works on these cars?
17:35 SquirrelCZECH the way the rear axle is joined with rest of the car, pretty familliar today
17:35 Skwint well, it depends on the kind of car and how expensive it is :P
17:36 Skwint in mine, for example, there isn't one - there's an electric motor in the back of the car and it's connected to the wheels
17:36 Skwint in a top of the range petrol powered thing it will look like a miniature version of a real car
17:37 SquirrelCZECH :D
17:37 SquirrelCZECH point is that I am building something that should be capable to win against the expensive one
17:39 SquirrelCZECH http://squirrel.veverak.org/235/link.png and this is actual version :)
17:40 SquirrelCZECH P.S: yellow/green parts should be 3d printed
17:40 SquirrelCZECH bottom http://squirrel.veverak.org/235/link2.png :)
17:55 Skwint uh huh
17:56 Skwint well, I can take a car to bits and fix the broken thing
17:56 Skwint but if you are trying to design a new one at a competitive level you are out of my league already :p
17:59 SquirrelCZECH :-/
17:59 SquirrelCZECH well
17:59 SquirrelCZECH just to try does't mean that I am out of league
17:59 SquirrelCZECH :)
18:00 Skwint also, I have a strong need to be different - if I was making one it would have two engines, one on each side :p
18:00 SquirrelCZECH :D
18:40 f00bar80 Anybody can tell me how many DOF is this arm https://www.dropbox.com/s/xcxowp9ehw4uzwa/2014-05-26%2022.42.56.mp4 , and if inverse kinematics is applied for this arm ?
18:43 f00bar80 any comment?
18:50 f00bar80 ??
18:59 f00bar80 anybody there?
19:04 robotustra_ nobody
19:04 f00bar80 :(
19:04 f00bar80 robotustra_, can you tell me how many DOF is this arm https://www.dropbox.com/s/lvenn5gtqjf9n7q/2014-05-26%2022.43.58.mp4 and if inverse kinematics is applied for this arm ?
19:10 f00bar80 anybody?
20:34 rue_more hey
20:35 rue_more f00... good work
20:55 robotustra_ public mobile forced to change phone
20:56 robotustra_ was playing like youngster all the evening
20:56 robotustra_ setup ringtones etc
21:50 blank___ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcO_hKkFxlE
21:50 blank___ what to do with a robot that runs fast?
21:51 blank___ http://www.theverge.com/2014/5/22/5742814/this-video-of-a-robot-running-45-mph-is-insane-video
21:51 MrCurious give it to a greyhound to play fetch with
21:52 blank___ I'm gonna argue that its not really running... its on wheels of sorts, spokes anyway.
21:54 MrCurious all running is is a inverted pendulem approximation of a rotating wheel
21:54 blank___ but the leg swings back...
21:54 MrCurious if we had 6 legs, it wouldnt have to
21:54 blank___ this leg swings like a shoulder...
21:58 robotustra_ cool
22:02 robotustra_ I can make a robot with wheels that can run more than 45 mph
22:02 robotustra_ but what for
22:02 robotustra_ ?
22:02 robotustra_ there is no reason to do it
22:05 ace4016 is it really running or just making periodic contact but still functioning like a wheel
22:05 robotustra_ http://liliputing.com/2013/11/linuxium-bootloader-helps-you-boot-linux-android-on-rk3188-mini-pcs.html
22:05 robotustra_ фиыщдгеудн
22:05 robotustra_ absolutely
22:18 MrCurious robotustra_: ty
22:19 MrCurious i have a few rockchip boxes i want to convert
22:20 robotustra_ oh
22:20 botustra_ express deep astonish
22:20 robotustra_ you will use this tool?
22:21 robotustra_ I want to turn my android TV box into the rigth faith
22:27 robotustra_ Do you think that Google+ is a fail project?
22:59 rue_more my flash chip reader is having inconsistancies on data bit 0
23:00 GuShH rue_more: more lathe milling http://gushh.net/tmp/dscn5503f.jpg squaring up some tiny blocks
23:00 GargantuaSauce clock polarity?
23:00 rue_more GuShH, told you a lathe could do it
23:00 rue_more GargantuaSauce, parallel rom
23:01 GuShH rue_more: yeah but I'm not convinced.
23:01 GuShH works on a pinch, nothing else.
23:01 blank___ what kind of lathe?
23:01 GuShH any lathe
23:01 GuShH - any metal working lathe -
23:01 blank___ your lathe... what kind
23:02 rue_more well I wound' use it to try to make precision blocks
23:02 rue_more less it was my definition of precision
23:02 GuShH no because for precision you'd be grinding them :p
23:02 GuShH what do you mean what kind? it's not a toolroom lathe.
23:02 rue_more I'v gound on the lathe
23:02 blank___ no not grinding them...
23:02 GuShH and not a turret lathe, it's a parallel lathe.
23:02 blank___ you'd hand scrape them...
23:02 GuShH oh sure precision gage blocks are HAND SCRAPED
23:02 blank___ :p
23:02 ShH twit
23:03 rue_more AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
23:03 rue_more bit 0 AGAIN!
23:03 GuShH WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
23:03 rue_more :108740003F6443C6087E314EE14F581761D18F76A2
23:03 rue_more vs
23:03 rue_more :108740003F6443C6087E314FE14F581761D18F76A1
23:03 GuShH blank___: I'll get a mill, eventually. I'm tempted to get a chinky one so I can easily cnc convert it... but ...
23:03 rue_more last byte if the checksum
23:03 rue_more see the E that turned to F!
23:03 blank___ GuShH, be careful... i think i aluminum poisoned myself milling and lathing etc.
23:04 rue_more ya know
23:04 rue_more I think its the same locations that keep flipping
23:04 rue_more I wonder if this eeprom has bit rot
23:04 blank___ http://jerry-howell.com/SuperFan.html made one of these though...
23:04 rue_more maybe I'll erase it and find out
23:05 GuShH blank___: you had alu poisoning?
23:05 blank___ think so...
23:05 GuShH but maybe I was born with it.
23:05 blank___ inhaling aluminum for a couple of years...
23:05 rue_more :106D60002B1AC7EEAC31112E9DBAE94C3D347E2270
23:05 rue_more :106D60002B1AC7EEAC31112F9DBAE94C3D347E226F
23:05 blank___ doc said had aluminum in blood pretty high
23:05 GuShH what about skin contact
23:05 GuShH specially with fine dust from polishing or reamers
23:05 rue_more E that turns to F
23:06 blank___ not skin contact but breathing from polishing, grinding, cutting, etc.
23:06 GuShH I use coolants so not a lot of airborne stuff
23:06 rue_more :1002100072F41884B09BB10F4747554246E963C555
23:06 blank___ smart...
23:06 rue_more :1002100072F41884B09BB10E4747554246E963C556
23:06 GuShH and I try to cut outside
23:06 GuShH but only because it makes a mess.
23:06 rue_more again, F that turns to E
23:06 GuShH side effect: back pain
23:07 rue_more I wonder if thats why the motherboard this came off was in a scrap bin...
23:08 GuShH I did have some ginkgo biloba extract tea today, as an experiment... it has made me very irritated.
23:08 GuShH the hope was for the tinnitus to become more managable...
23:09 GuShH whoever said it works, they must be on real drugs.
23:09 GuShH blank___: during that period did you have muscle twitching?
23:09 blank___ i don't know if it is any lower...
23:10 blank___ drink silica water... it should help bring it down
23:10 blank___ mineral water like evian, fiji, etc.
23:10 ShH raises an eye
23:11 GuShH I've had muscle twitching on my left arm for a week, not long ago, I couldn't attribute it to anything... but maybe it was the aluminum
23:11 blank___ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2216608/Drinking-litre-day-mineral-water-prevent-onset-Alzheimers-flushing-aluminium.html
23:11 blank___ yeah i've had a lot of muscle twitching...
23:11 blank___ try some b12... methyl-b12 if you can find it, like at gnc, if you're sensitive to it like I am it'll make you feel weird
23:11 GuShH For a moment I thought it was my back / spine
23:12 blank___ but that can cause twitching... low b12
23:12 GuShH I used to take all kinds of vitamins, but I never noticed a difference.
23:12 blank___ methyl-b12 will let you know... especially if you need it
23:13 blank___ might make your allergies bad though...
23:13 blank___ don't mess around too much with the body... or it'll get even with you though...
23:13 GuShH hmm only a light allergy to some types of dust
23:13 GuShH specially in clothing
23:14 rue_more yay! my blank checker works!
23:15 GuShH blank___: I should start wearing latex gloves... other than that I take all kinds of safety precaution
23:15 GuShH but even then, I've almost lost an eye just by staring up a tree.
23:15 rue_more here goes! chip erase!
23:15 GuShH so...
23:15 blank___ GuShH, yeah life is funny...
23:16 blank___ i wanted to make a meat grinder on my lathe...
23:16 blank___ don't type "meat grinder lathe"... bad stuff there
23:16 GuShH oh, just wear a chain, watch or loose clothing, instant meat grinding
23:16 blank___ no plans for making meat grinders...
23:17 blank___ yep just a 2" barstock and a flannel sweater...
23:17 GuShH I've seen most lathe accident pictures already
23:17 GuShH how else would you train yourself
23:18 blank___ there's one with a guy trying to pry a lathe with his leg.
23:18 GuShH likewise with acid and caustic solutions
23:18 blank___ http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/81210978/
23:18 GuShH there's a funny gif of an idiot touching a rod and his shirt catching up, pulling him almost into the chuck
23:19 GuShH no lathes nor mills if you've had a couple drinks either.
23:19 rue_more yay! its blank!
23:19 rue_more hardest for last, writing to it
23:20 blank___ what kind of lathe do you have?
23:20 GuShH blank___: have you used any import mills?
23:20 blank___ yeah used to love hf stuff
23:20 GuShH an import like rif's or rue's
23:20 GuShH I couldn't find a good used lathe so I ended up buying one of those
23:20 blank___ had a mill/drill the 700# one
23:20 rue_more they are kind a rough lathe, you have to make them into a real one
23:21 GuShH haha yeah
23:21 GuShH but even then, they are lacking in every aspect.
23:21 rue_more which may require replacing 100% or more of it
23:21 GuShH If I had the space right now I would swap it on a heart beat for anything other than an import
23:21 rue_more I erased a 2mbit eeprom!
23:22 GuShH now it has no soul
23:22 blank___ i was happy with an 8x14 hf lathe
23:22 rue_more I'm gonna give it a Z80 soul }:]
23:22 GuShH this is 30 inches bed, but still...
23:22 rue_more GuShH, I dare you to find the 30"
23:22 rue_more I cant on mine
23:22 blank___ big lathe... i use to use a leblond lathe
23:22 GuShH it's 29
23:22 GuShH marketing bs.
23:22 rue_more maybe its 30 metric inches
23:23 GuShH haha
23:23 rue_more :)
23:23 GuShH no, marketing inches
23:23 GuShH 29... ok that's close to 30, which sounds better, let's call it 30.
23:23 rue_more you know its not reall .001" divisions right? its .025mm
23:23 GuShH usable, much less, of course. it's just the bed size
23:23 GuShH yep it's 0.25mm
23:23 GuShH it's a metric lathe with metric leadscrew
23:23 rue_more I realized that .025mm != .001" and wondered which is was
23:24 GuShH well... I just need space.
23:24 GuShH also drunk is just as bad as tired....
23:24 rue_more it takes a little under 3 seconds to scan the whole thing for being blank
23:24 GuShH I've had my knuckles "woken up" by the chuck once, tiny cut big reminder.
23:25 GuShH that was polishing with emery cloth way too close to the jaws.
23:25 GuShH just stupid.
23:25 rue_more :/ I have to write an ihex interpreter on the mega32
23:26 GuShH spindle speed was high enough it just felt like hammering, it didn't catch any fingers or limbs
23:26 blank___ yeah i've gotten a little close to endmills on occasion...
23:26 GuShH ugh
23:26 GuShH "gotta try everything at least once!"
23:26 blank___ didn't touch them but realized how careless i was...
23:26 GuShH famous last words
23:27 blank___ i got real forgetful after spending years in that machine shop... and tired too...
23:27 blank___ that aluminum messes you up...
23:28 GuShH hrmmm I guess if you were cutting a lot on a daily basis, it could
23:29 blank___ i suppose it was just placebo...
23:29 rue_more ooo I cant do a 256 byte buffer can I?
23:29 blank___ but it seems to be the case... got chelated and the aluminum levels were pretty high...
23:29 rue_more 2K Byte Internal SRAM
23:29 rue_more yea I can
23:32 rue_more must block the rewrite mechanism
23:33 rue_more damn, do I have any ascii hex reciever code around...
23:53 rue_more screw that I'll write everything that depends on it first
23:54 rue_more armyofevilrobots, you want a java project?
