00:41 rue_more "you did a great job building me, and I dont mean to be critical, but, my knees are backwards..."
01:23 rue_bed cool
01:24 rue_bed before it was called a bios, I called it CIPS (computer initialization and program selection)
01:33 GuShH_ rue_more: to bend pipe
01:33 GuShH_ consider old disc brakes
01:33 GuShH_ I have, but I've yet to try the idea.
01:33 GuShH_ just weld the relief thingy so it collapses the pipe inward on the inner radius
01:33 GuShH_ then it's all a matter of torque
08:32 rue_bed GuShH_, not fixed radios bends
08:35 rue_bed continious bend, dia between 10 and 12 feet
08:35 GuShH_ nobody told you how insane all of this sounds?
08:36 rue_bed to continious bend pipe'?
08:36 rue_bed pfff
08:36 rue_bed a few rollers and I'm totally happing
08:36 rue_bed I have a great feed motor
08:36 rue_bed ooooooh, and 1/2" plate!
08:37 rue_bed its a roll bender or I cast a few horns out of concrete
08:38 rue_more oooh, and I have a winch now
08:50 GuShH_ rue_more: no, to make what you are trying to make.
09:05 f00bar80 rue_more, you there ??
09:08 GuShH_ anyone ever heard of CIM-TEK ?
09:08 GuShH_ I can't find any information online
09:09 GuShH_ they make live centers in theory
09:09 GuShH_ but I think it's all china crap
09:18 rue_more GuShH_, your telling me I'm going in the right direction
09:19 GuShH_ nope
09:20 rue_more everyone in history who came up with something new or cool was told it was a crazy or stupid project
09:20 f00bar80 rue_more, so you said >> "you need to grab the servo horn, not just the screw in the middle"
09:21 rue_more yup
09:21 f00bar80 rue_more, any idea how can i grab it ?!
09:21 rue_more how small are the smallest screws you have?
09:21 rue_more do you have tools for drilling holes?
09:22 SquirrelCZECH rue_more: true to that
09:22 SquirrelCZECH because of tha I ignore "it is stupid/crazy" comments about my projects
09:22 SquirrelCZECH in most of the time the end as crazy/stupid
09:22 rue_more you should be encouraged by them
09:22 SquirrelCZECH bud some of them works :)
09:22 SquirrelCZECH and are really good :)
09:22 rue_more I wonder how many times the guy who designed the first brick phone was told that was the stupidest thing on the planet
09:23 SquirrelCZECH a lot
09:23 SquirrelCZECH :D
09:23 SquirrelCZECH or 3d printer
09:23 SquirrelCZECH or internet
09:23 SquirrelCZECH or ...
09:24 rue_more I did online content editing before it happened on the internet and was told by the people in the software company I worked at I was insane
09:26 f00bar80 rue_more, this is the servo which am i using http://store.fut-electronics.com/FUT-06M.html , you can see vthe screws i've got
09:27 rue_more the round horn, can you drill two holes in it for screws?
09:27 f00bar80 rue_more, actually it was working fine before, as you can see here https://www.dropbox.com/s/xut1x98iwoisya0/2014-04-04%2023.53.51.mp4
09:28 rue_more understand that sometimes things that aren't right work fine for the first bit
09:30 f00bar80 rue_more, the round horn as you can see, has multiple small holes ... and there's also 2 smaller screws "just check the picture" , but no where in the mecano beam for them ,
09:30 rue_more can you drill holes in the servo disk, do you have a drill
09:32 f00bar80 rue_more, no ...
09:32 f00bar80 rue_more, but why at the time i already it has holes ..
09:33 rue_more http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/images/p1060016.jpg
09:33 rue_more this is how I suggest it be attached
09:34 rue_more it does not need to be ligned up with the middle screw of the servo
09:35 f00bar80 rue_more, i have 2 holes in the roun horn wired to the mecanno beam with a wire
09:35 rue_more if its not ligned up, you just need to make sure you have the same offset on the other side
09:36 rue_more its too loose, you want screws to make it more rigid, but you also need to lighten the weight on the servo to help it with its overheating problem
09:37 f00bar80 rue_more, you can see it here https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ou61urz4vtjxe5/2014-04-04%2022.56.43.jpg
09:38 rue_more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlFo9bbvUiw
09:38 rue_more see how everything is counterweighted?
09:38 rue_more if you disconnect the motors, the arm prettymuch stays in position
09:39 f00bar80 rue_more, but want to mention , it was not overheated before .. when it was working in the video https://www.dropbox.com/s/xut1x98iwoisya0/2014-04-04%2023.53.51.mp4
09:39 rue_more did the elbow screws tighten up? :)
09:39 rue_more iirc, int eh old video, wasnt' the power supply failing and the whole thing rebooting?
09:40 f00bar80 no
09:40 rue_more ah
09:41 rue_more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrea-6JYXmM
09:41 rue_more thats cool
09:44 rue_more it just taught me folding tricks :)
09:44 rue_more f00bar80, try this, make the arm unmotorized, then add the mtoors
09:44 f00bar80 rue_more, confused and frustrated ... is there any guide/rules behind counterbalance the arm
09:44 rue_more just the law or gravity
09:44 f00bar80 rue_more, that's what i basically did
09:45 rue_more make sure all the weight one way is balanced with weight or springs the other way
09:46 rue_more you cant know all the wieght that will ever be on your robot, but if you are able to counter out all the forces the robot puts on itself, all the motor power can go into what the robots working on
09:48 f00bar80 rue_more, i measured the beams long and it's 20 cm long, the gripper weight is 0.068Kg ... and the servo's at the elbow is 7.5 kg.cm
09:51 rue_more GuShH_, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMu7_W0QE3Y << educational video
09:52 rue_more ok, I'm off to work see you in 8.5 hrs
09:55 Hyratel1 http://vonslatt.tumblr.com/post/85213414895/the-missing-screw-caused-us-to-slam-the-dishwasher
19:05 rue_more but thats a capacitor
19:21 f00bar80 rue_more, i was trying with this arm from the time you left, i'm very frustrated ... for sure there's a way to fix it ...
19:30 RifRaf rue_more, made a triple extruder http://imagebin.org/309960 http://imagebin.org/309961
19:32 Hyratel1 oooh
19:39 RifRaf http://imagebin.org/309430
20:29 rue_more lets see what rif made
20:29 rue_more nice rif!
20:29 rue_more mine isn't finished yet
20:30 rue_more did you buy solidworks to make models?
20:31 rue_more f00bar80, make the arm without the motor, then lets work out how to motorize it
20:31 rue_more RifRaf, tell me about the extruder design!
20:33 rue_more hmm
20:34 rue_more it might be intersting to make a ice printer, use the spare chest freezer for a box for it
20:35 RifRaf made all models in openscad
20:36 RifRaf rue_more, more info here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:304985
20:36 RifRaf uses single nozzle for 3 filaments
20:37 rue_more coool
20:37 rue_more why internal gears?
20:38 RifRaf save space
20:38 rue_more hmm
20:38 rue_more so, does the head fir all 3 filements?
20:39 RifRaf yep
20:39 rue_more or does it completely back out the one colour before the next...
20:39 RifRaf oh yes, massive retraction
20:39 rue_more hmm
20:39 RifRaf 85mm
20:39 rue_more aah
20:40 rue_more it definitly looks like the head only fits one
20:40 rue_more coool
20:40 RifRaf the trick has been to get the swapping working smoothly
20:40 RifRaf yes this is not colour mixing, just swapping
20:40 RifRaf there is no firmware to do mixing yet but have ideas for when there is support
20:41 rue_more what firmware?
20:41 RifRaf marlin
20:41 rue_more marlin?, ok
20:41 rue_more I was late
20:41 rue_more I'm tired
20:41 rue_more did you see my new arm?
20:42 rue_more kinda thrown togethor, but working
20:42 RifRaf and using rumba for controller since last night , controls 7 motors and 2 extra fans
20:42 RifRaf nope let me see
20:42 rue_more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZF9WJ1Ueew
20:44 rue_more 6 axis
20:45 RifRaf pretty cool
20:45 rue_more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlFo9bbvUiw
20:45 rue_more its does more in that
