00:14 Hyratel1 rue_house, sounds like you need a complete oil change, and oilways flushed
00:15 rue_house its not tar tar yet, is getting black
00:16 Triffid_Hunter heh we changed the transmission fluid on our '85 4wd corolla a year or two ago, it had so much metal in it that it looked like mercury with a green tinge
00:16 Hyratel1 if you can tell by looking at the oil on the dipstick that it's grody, then it's time to get it changed
00:17 Hyratel1 it should not procede to "tar"
00:17 rue_house oh its past due, but its been burning enough to keep the oil in there pretty fresh
00:18 Hyratel1 *facepalm*
00:18 Hyratel1 go take it to the shop. get the oil changed.
00:20 rue_house last tiem I did that they stripped the plug
00:20 rue_house which you *cant* do by hand...
00:20 rue_house I got a new plug, but I got the wrong thread, so I been waiting to change the oild again to put it in
00:20 rue_house the old one seems to be staying in, I dont know how
00:21 rue_house awe :( I wanted to try the new headlights, I need to go to bed now
00:23 rue_house :) I got some led strips for under the box lip too, have to work that one out
00:24 rue_house I need to get the tig welder going and do some body repairs
00:24 rue_house maybe I could do that tommorow... no
15:16 GargantuaSauce got my PS Eyes
15:16 GargantuaSauce way way way fucking better than webcams
15:20 GargantuaSauce it's kind of noisy and the colours arent awesome but the ridiculous framerate and sensitivity make up for it
16:21 Tom_itx GargantuaSauce, camera?
16:21 Tom_itx how expensive was it?
16:21 Tom_itx some are looking for a fast cheap one for linuxcnc for finding edges etc
16:22 GargantuaSauce $17 each
16:23 Tom_itx link?
20:09 MrCurious GargantuaSauce: link?
20:09 MrCurious oh nm...
20:10 MrCurious i swear by ps2 eyecams
20:10 MrCurious they pass the can you shake the fuck out of it while snagging a random frame and tell what you are seeing test
20:11 GargantuaSauce http://www.ebay.com/itm/161172167454 Tom_itx
20:30 LoRez why's that >$20 off retail?
20:48 MrCurious i have 3 of them
20:48 MrCurious the ps2 ones
20:49 MrCurious they are far superior to the 5 latop cam's i salvaged, and the 5 web cams i bought
20:49 MrCurious the kinect is cooler
20:49 MrCurious but the kinect sucks power like mad
21:33 slu9freek Say I have a series of wave samples in the form of unsigned integers. The wave is AM Manchester encoded. What is the best way to detect 1s/0s in that wave (or perhaps edges)? I'll be working in C or Objective C.
21:59 Jak_o_Shadows I should just jump in and buy the steppers
22:00 slu9freek Better put, I have a wav file with Manchester-encoded binary in it, how can I decode it? (A library would be preferable obviously.)
23:44 GuShH_ Tom_itx: rue_more: what would this be? http://gushh.net/tmp/dscn5345f.jpg it's not an "easy out" and it was machined between centers, I'm thinking it's some sort of reamer since it doesn't have cutters in the front, any thoughts?. I've only ever seen these in an auction but they thought those were drill bits for "aluminum" which sounded like bs. It's almost like a wood bit / auger bit... but it's got no chisel or cutter on the f
23:44 GuShH_ ront that's why I think it might be a reamer of sorts
23:46 GuShH_ No markings, the only marks were caused by a drill chuck heh
23:47 GargantuaSauce looks like an experiment/test maybe? cant think of what would use asymmetrical threads like those
23:47 GargantuaSauce like a halfassed first pass at a leadscrew or something
23:47 GuShH_ to me it's a reamer, the edges cut like heck.
23:48 GuShH_ and the auger would help it clear the chips easily, but I've never seen one like this before
23:48 GargantuaSauce maybe a mill for something soft?
23:48 GuShH_ I'm aware of "half" reamers (profile reamers), straight reamers, twist reamers and all combinations of taper, etc.
23:48 GuShH_ the shank is too long for a mill and it was held on a chuck, not collet (given the marks it left) so I doubt that
23:49 GuShH_ it was mixed between a big lot of drill bits I bought
23:49 GuShH_ among with some other crap I was going to throw away but now I _NEED_ to know.
23:51 ShH_ asks the only other person that might know on free
23:52 GuShH_ GargantuaSauce: if I had a way to try it out as a mill, I would, just for kicks. but I highly doubt it's a coarse mill, also seems to be carbon steel or some crappy tool steel, not hss
23:57 GuShH_ oh well, the other "hard to identify" tools were center cutting reamers, nice to have even though it's not a full set
