15:27 delinquentme ok so we've got microscopes which are made for human use which have these additional angles in the optical path. Is there a specific term for an in-line optical path ( say something like the lens on an expensive camera ) which all of the magnification / focus optics are in-line ?

15:33 SlaveToTheSauce_ because all of the aberrations that need to be corrected are due to the properties of the lenses. it's relatively easy to make a more or less "perfect" mirror
