00:02 rue_shop2 I remmeber once I got this nice big pack of signal diodes from RS, I sat down and made a decimal to 7 segment encoder rom, when I was done i found out that a bunch of the diodes had been marked backwards
00:03 rue_shop2 there is this little voice in my head, its great
00:04 rue_shop2 hey, if I dial up the music really loud its like my ear works right again
00:04 GargantuaSauce i love that moment after being sick for a bit when you swallow and your ear clears
00:05 GargantuaSauce and suddenly your aural acuity is back
08:13 GuShH_ Tom_itx: feeling better?
12:53 Toneloc hey SlaveToTheSauce !
13:23 Toneloc .test
13:27 Tom_itx fail
14:29 Toneloc Lol @ Tom_itx
14:43 GargantuaSauce yo
14:43 GargantuaSauce i am this acct at home
14:46 MrCurious https://www.dailysteals.com/icemonkey/#d/20536
14:46 MrCurious awesome for working with arm boards...
14:47 MrCurious or for anyone who needs to have the geekiest laptop in the office....
15:23 theBear hmm... do disposable old style razor blades, the SUPER thin ones scored to snap in half if needed, that ACTUALLY go in razors... do tho bend in non-weakened places, like everywhere else, or do they just snap if you try to bend them
15:23 theBear i mean with goggles and pliers style, for tool use
15:24 Toneloc GargantuaSauce- hey, you aren't SlaveToTheSauce when at home ?
15:24 GargantuaSauce i am
15:25 theBear oh, and if anyone knows already it's gonna be rue... hey rue ! what's it take to convert a little electronic 12v ugly ugly "ac" output switchey dimmable generic downlight kinda thinger into a heavy duty deepcycle/lead-acid kinda charger apart from a big diode or 2 or 4 maybe, and a cap, and maybe soemthing to deal with current or voltage limits, pfft, unimportant details :)
15:26 theBear sidenote: one of the things is on top of my clothes washer connected to the wall via a series motor-start cap and a BIG heatsunk bridge right now :)
15:26 theBear should probly check it eventually, and maybe compare the new back from dead multimeter to ANYTHING i know to check it isn't crazy
15:27 theBear meh no need for a cap either, only upset the transformer-feedback oscillation of the dumb switchert
15:28 theBear well, i spose the battery too, pfft, whats the news rues ?
15:28 eBear is drunk and high on a sense of self importance and DEMANDS answers, dam
15:30 GargantuaSauce sounds like a great state in which to start a fire
15:53 Toneloc GargantuaSauce- sorry, I got d/c again
15:54 Toneloc GargantuaSauce- I didn't win the giant lot of stuff- they went for more than I was willing to spend, but I did win the 4 big ones he had !
15:54 GargantuaSauce too bad
15:54 Toneloc Now, I'm a big scared what to do with them because they don't come with valves or anything...
15:55 Toneloc I just hope all 4 are good
15:56 Toneloc GargantuaSauce-the big lot og stuff went for $140
15:56 Toneloc *of
15:56 Toneloc really too much for stuff you *might * use
15:56 Toneloc and it was used stuff
18:10 theBear GargantuaSauce, same formula worked the night before for fire, my elephant-man looking fingers can attest to that :)
18:45 theBear woah, that sms blew out some serious stops, yo .. if that don't convince my buddy that he needs to get tiny doggy yogi here for a prior breakfast engagement thismorning, fwoo, nothing will
19:05 theBear HAHA ! paydirt ! winning msg !
19:31 demigod2k is this channel appropriate for FIRST robotics questions?
19:32 GargantuaSauce perhaps
19:33 demigod2k I'll try then. My students had trouble today -- they're using the 2014 Labview image. As soon as we add "UDP Write" we're not able to deploy code to the cRIO anymore. It gives a pretty non-descript error that the remote host closed the socket.
19:34 GargantuaSauce firewall?
19:34 demigod2k dont think so because we can deploy reliably normally -- it's correlated to compiling code which contains that one function
19:35 demigod2k I think more that the 2014 competition image may lack library support for that function, or there's a bug, or something
19:35 GargantuaSauce or maybe adding that makes the binary bigger than the controller's flash or something
19:36 GargantuaSauce i dunno, don't think anyone here is familiar with the specifics of that system either
19:36 demigod2k good idea, possibly. they dont give you much diagnostic info unfortunately. I posted to the FIRST forums, we'll see if they respond before next weekend (competition)
19:36 GargantuaSauce maybe http://reddit.com/r/frc will be helpful too
19:37 demigod2k they did a great job writing an Arduino ethernet-to-LED lighting controller. I didn't figure the ethernet control would be the hard part for them
19:40 shuggans Rue_more: your in AU right?
19:41 shuggans You're*
19:41 shuggans You guys familiar with Monaro cars?
19:42 demigod2k somewhat, what about them
19:47 rue_more no
19:49 shuggans In the us, have an 04 gto - wondering exactly how much of. A clone they are
19:49 rue_more shuggans, no, I'm in canada
19:50 demigod2k very similar platform, most of the modules are "pretty close" to carryover
19:51 shuggans Rue: ah sorry. It was rifraf in au
19:51 shuggans Are monaros considered a sports or luxury car?
19:52 demigod2k sports just as much as a GTO is here
19:52 demigod2k er was, while pontiac was still in business
20:30 rue_more I think I can make a forward converter with a mc34063
